Location: Final story boss, unmissable. After collecting the 4 mythical armor pieces from Gold Armored Rhino, Cloudtreading Deer, Feng-Tail General, Emerald-Armed Mantis, go to the waterfall cave in the northwest of the area above the lake (behind where you fight the Son of Stones boss fly straight forward and then left). This leads to a waterfall cave. With all 4 mythical armor pieces equipped you will trigger a cutscene, then you get the mythical weapon to complete the set. Then follow the path in this cave and go up the mountain, many spearmen will spawn along the way but it's a linear path so can't make a wrong turn. At the end you reach the game's endboss.
Difficulty: 6/10 (Level 85+ recommended)
Strategy: This is the final boss in Black Myth: Wukong. It has 4 phases. After the first 2 phases there's a checkpoint. So if you die during the 3rd/4th phase you will restart from the 3rd phase each time. From story progress you will have the full Mythical Armor Set and Mythical Weapon unlocked, make sure you have all these equipped, it's the best set in the game. Craft enough medicines, especially Tiger Subduing Pellets + Evil Repelling Medicament + Amplification Pellets. Revisit Xu Dog and put all Mind Cores into Defense + Health + Burn Resistance. The boss uses two Elements: Burn damage & Frost damage. However, it only uses Frost Damage in the second phase and it doesn't deal too much damage. It uses Fire in all 4 phases (shockwaves in first two phases, ring of fire in las two phases). So it's better to prioritize fire resistance.
Phase 1 (Stone Monkey): Here you fight the Stone Monkey alone. It doesn't have much health and is easy to dodge. Its most dangerous attack is when it creates fire shockwaves on the ground, dodge through them. They spread out like rings. Save all your spells for the second phase.
Phase 2 (Two Stone Monkeys): In the second phase it will call a clone. You now have to dodge and damage two of these bosses at the same time. Use all your spells on one of them to kill it fast. After a short while one of the clones should disappear. Then it's back to 1v1. The Stone Monkeys don't have very much health and don't deal too much damage.
Phase 3 (The Great Sage's Broken Shell, weak form): You now fight a different form of this boss, looks like a copy of yourself. It uses a moveset similar to yours. The good news is that there's a checkpoint at the start of this phase. Just let yourself die to respawn with full health and mana. This will make the last two phases easier. Save all your spells for the 4th phase. Use only quick-attacks and dodge. Since most of the attacks are similar to your own they are easy to recognize and to dodge. The boss doesn't have a lot of health in its 3rd phase so this shouldn't last long.
Phase 4 (The Great Sage's Broken Shell, strong form): Same boss as in 3rd phase but it gets a new full healthbar and has more health overall. It can also drink from gourd to heal itself, but if you attack it this will be stopped. At the start of this phase use all your spells for fast damage. Then concentrate on dodging cleanly and landing quick-attacks between dodges. If the boss creates a ring of fire, get out of there as it will burn you and buffs the boss. When he flies on a cloud towards you, dodge away or he'll grab you which deals lots of damage. If he turns into stone to deflect your attack, if you hit him he will always try to grab you twice, dodge back to avoid it. Its staff attacks are similar to the 3rd phase, but he does more strikes in a row. With the Mythical armor your spells recharge faster each time you land a critical hit, this will let you use Immobilize more frequently. Try to push the boss into the invisible walls at the edge of the arena, he's easier to hit then because he can't dodge backwards, lure him there. This phase is a test of patience, you have to dodge most attacks cleanly to survive long enough. It may take a few tries but after you learn the attack pattern and dodge timing it's not too bad.

This Wukong does not transcend to Buddhahood. He just simply replaced The Great Sage’s mortal shell. And thus the cycle repeats once again.

So in this ending/storyline, it seems like Wukongs successor takes his place in the stone so he can truly restart his entire story? He will literally be born from a stone like the original Wukong was, and presumably have the same achievements and journey to the west as well.
Yea it seems to match with Buddhism’s theme of cycle of souls and rebirth, he will be reborn until his soul is “qualified” to get into heaven

No, I doubt he will suddenly have to go through the exact same things for no reason, but yes, he carries on the name and legacy of the original, but with his own unique journey all his own.

No bro just look at the video, the Monkey King also do that but PowerPyx dodge it as quick as possible to stop immobilizing. He do that once you take like 4-5 sips so make sure you spam dodge once you see him swing the staff up and down and dance around just like this video. This makes the fight bearable for me.
either you go into cloud step or immobilize him before taking the flask...

The speedrun bad ending is a metaphor. The journey to obtain the scriptures is more important than the scriptures themselves. The Great Sage remains sealed in stone because he lacks the essence of intention, which serves as a message to those who use cheats and those who speedrun just for the sake of it. By missing the true purpose of the game, the Great Sage in your heart remains sealed in stone, and the character you play as-the destined one-ends up putting on the Golden Hoop, becoming a disciple of Buddha, controlled by the rules and the Golden Hoop, awaiting the next destined one to continue this cycle.
9x9=81. In the original story they had to complete the full 81 travails otherwise they didn’t get the full scriptures. And there are 81 bosses in the game.

After beating Erlang he was surprisingly easy. I beat the first half of the boss in one try, and it took me like 3-4 tries with the final phase.
There are two big questions which is relevant to the plot of this game : Who was the one who chanted the Golden Headband Spell on Sun Wukong when fighting Erlang Shen ? The Heavenly Court seems to be the main antagonist in this game, but we haven't seen them yet. It could possibly be linked to the Buddha on a deeper and darker level. Hopefully, everything will be clarified in the DLC or there will be a sequel.

Water is fortitude and wisdom or fear and anxiety depending on the situation. Stone is associated with Earth which a counter to Water.
Which brings up the question of whether the Stone Monkey is walling out the positive or negative aspects of Water.
And the Destined One is to break that wall.

Fun fact in order to get the true ending you need to be Wukong’s irl successor and ascend to buddhahood only then can you get the true ending.

@@adrielJD unlock all the secrets and skandha you found from chapter 1 to 4 and go to chapter 3 in pagoda Buddha to beat Erlang shen he then release the memories of WUKONG into you... so you are now both destined one and wukong himself

The first 6 chapters are full of demons and monsters, but the ending doesn't show any of the Four Heavenly Kings from the trailer, which is weird.

How did you get to the final boss? I am lost. after getting the staff I went back to fight Erlang and I can't seem to get to the final boss.
For me the stone monkey cutscene completely bugged out, as soon as i beat it, the cutscene slowed down to like 0.25x speed slowmo, and the sounds carried on until the cutscene end, from there it was just them fighting in silent slowmo for like 10 minutes, i got bored so i hit altf4, and it restarted the whole fight xd so i have to fight Stone monkey again :/
Finished now … thanks to ring of fire . Last game I will play of this software house

So we basically become the new Sun Wukong. (On the one hand meaning that Wukongs immortality remains, even if it's in the form of just his legacy living on), and then..... what? What do we do from there? I don't like how the ending basically gives us no indication of what the future may hold for us, nothing that can give real meaning to what we went through. Maybe cuz this is the normal, and so most basic ending?

There is, its hidden place but this guy speedrush the game so he did not have that fight (which is lead to a good ending) and because of that he also got the bad final ending, there is a good one when the main character gets back his memories lol, there are so many ending actually but we need to explore more

@@Thailandsmostwanted It doesn't make sense for the game to be part of a trilogy if the first game has multiple endings. You'll have to either choose one ending as canon or reconsider making it a trilogy
@pedrohenrique-bnc3y and yet plenty of games do that, not to mention that a trilogy doesn't necessarily mean that the next game will follow up on this one. It can easily be a disconnected story of another character just set in the same world.
I beat the Monkey yesterday and I can now enter a new cyle, problem I am missing The Great Sage's Broken Shell in the Characters list and when I went there again. There was the Stone Monkey again? @@ravensayana2870 I got the same ending. My journal is mostly filled, I'm only missing a handful of bosses. All of the guides I've seen state "All x bosses" but doesn't actually have them all. Three of them I know where they are but they aren't there, possibly bugged.

Wukong is not the strongest god ,but one of them , many gods can defeat wukong easily ,but they having trouble killing him . Wukong posses one of the strongest body in ancient mythology .

@@Chromwel-A it's a bit complicated , wukong was born a stone monkey so he already possessed some trait of invincible body ,then he ate a lot of celestial pills and fruits and then pushed into an oven and kind of forged a stronger body ,the God who helped him obtain this invincible body is 太白金星，he probably did this on purpose to cause trouble for Buddha. So wukong can be defeated but almost no one can kill him .
