You probably know Andre 3000 from Outkast song like "Hey Ya" or "Sorry Ms. Jackson", Outkast is one of the most influential and the best hip-hop duos of all time. I highly reccomand reacting to their stuff from the 90's, they were way ahead of their time sonically. Try "Synthesizer", "Chonkyfire", "ATLiens" or "Da Art Of Storytellin". When it comes to progression in rap music no one does it better than Travis Scott(hes heavly influenced by Kanye btw.), "90210" by him is a great example.

This is a reference to famous 90s NY rapper Notorious B.I.G (or Big, or Biggie Smalls) So Puff (his manager and long-time friend) is saying something like 'we are going to win big, Big. And the 'What' is actually Biggie's voice sampled). André 3K is the individual you have to have on an album or it's just a mixtape imo. Two Goats collaborate to create a sonically peaceful & impact filled piece of music art.
I feel like because this was your first listen you were paying more attention to the production over the lyrics and sadly, this was one of the songs from the album that has great lyricism. Understanding stuff on Donda to the level us fans do I think requires listening to the lyrics of the older songs, especially from 808s and Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and The Life of Pablo. The songs Id recommend to understand Kanyes life more are Hey Mama, Coldest Winter (about his mothers passing), Lost in the World (a poem he wrote to Kim Kardashian when he was first getting to know her. He turned it into the final song on MBDTF), and Only One (a solo song that was meant for a unreleased album. It features instrumental played by the legendary Paul McCartney!!! Its sung from the perspective of his mother in heaven talking about his daughter North aka Norie). These are absolute essential songs and most of the more hardcore Kanye fans would agree these are in at least the top 20 I believe if not much much higher. These are all probably in my top 10 personally.
Good video theres so many great songs on donda. I would probably say off the grid if you want a banger and come to life if you want a beauftiel song, but if you choose come to life the video is adding a whole lot to it. The rapper at the start of the song was andre 3000 who was in a group called outkast, he is probably the greatest rapper of all time, but sadly he only have guess verses now. If you want another good new song with him ill say James Blake wheres the catch ft andre 3000, im sure you Would love it🙂
