Looks really sleek in white! I like this case. Good choice.
Excellent review!
I'm going to build one soon too! A custom hard tube water cooling mini-ITX. Waiting for new model of Phanteks Shift X to come out. :)
A fellow singaporean sff enthusiasts nice.
You too? Awesome. SFF all the way for me. I think the largest I might be able to handle is the NZXT H210, but that isn't really SFF anymore lol. Might be fun to do a hardline custom loop in that though
Very nice review of the case!
Thank you!
Got interested in this case when i saw the last part that it supports ATX psu! Can't wait to see you build and hope you can also make one with ATX Psu. Coz getting sfx psu now is so hard in my place. Nice video btw!
Ahhh, I bought the Corsair SF750. I will try and check out how the ATX PSU mount works though
@@kalestarler thank you!
I'm planning to downsize my rig, if this supports atx psu it will be a great cost cutter for me. Btw i have GX650
Park
When I'm building it I'll get some shots. My ATX PSU is sitting in my current PC still
thanks for the review! mine just got shipped out can't wait! do you think it will fit a rtx 3080 strix with a 57.8
Should just fit if you shift the motherboard tray. It does restrict CPU cooler options though
Hi, thanks for reviewing the case. I bought it off taobao, but the shipping agent is having problems shipping it to my country apparently because the case contains magnets. So theyve asked if they can remove the magnets. My question is, are the magnets on all the panels or where exactly are they? And can I do without them? Thank you.
Hey, answered you on reddit, but to also close up the loop here, there are 4 small round magnets on the top lid that holds it down. These are just glued onto the lid, so if they need to be removed, you should be able to find similar magnets to replace them with.
Did the riser cable come with the case? Or did you have to buy that separately? I just bought this case through SuperBuy, and I was wondering if I needed to buy the riser cable
Hmmm. It was an option on the actual taobao page, which I had to select. I'm not sure about SuperBuy
@@kalestarler Just received mine and it didn't have a riser cable haha. How long is the one that you're using and is it right-angled? I need to buy one seperately one now
Ahhhh, I guess SuperBuy didn't include the available options after all... My riser cable is 18cm. R33UF-TU from ADT-Link
Great Review! I've just ordered one and I've been asking myself if the ATX PSU fits in every configuration?
I didn't get to try this as I ended up not having a spare ATX PSU on hand, but based on the amount of free space left when using an SFX, I think it would be rather cramp. Most likely if you want to use an ATX PSU, you would be locked into the thinner GPU config
Hi. I just saw this recently and I wonder how the temps of your build is. Can you let me know? i wonder it'll be a good case for my 12400+3070 or not
It's been a while since I last used this case, but I recall looking at max about 80C for CPU and 70+ for GPU. I think it depends on how you set it up too, I was tweaking CPU undervolt, fan curves and thermal limits to keep it more silent as well
New subscriber here love your vids. Keep it up.
Thank you!
hey kale what gpu are u using for the ghost s1? heard that rtx 3000 series with founders edition might have tempt issue with the case.
I'm not using the Ghost S1, this is actually the AKLLA A4v2 case from taobao. It's larger than the Ghost.
You are right about the RTX 3000 series and the Ghost though. From a thermal perspective they are not compatible with the Ghost because the GPU is mounted against a flush metal frame with nowhere for the air flowing out the back of the card to go.
This case is a bit different. It's wider, plus it also has cutouts at the PSU area that allow for airflow. I'm also adding additional spacers to position the PSU further out. Thermals should be a lot better than the Ghost.
I've not completed by build for this case yet though. Still waiting on CPU and GPU to arrive.
When you bought the case, did it come with a riser cable? Or did you have to add that on as a separate purchase?
You have to add on the option from the same product page when adding to cart (although all my pricings shown in the video include the riser cable)
So you need to buy the riser separately?
On taobao, it was one of the options to select for checkout, case + riser
Hi! I was wondering if you reckon you could fit two 2.5" ssds, two 15mm fans, and one 25mm fan in the case? From what I've seen it seems like these would occupy the same areas in the case (i.e top and bottom of the case) and I'm not sure if all four of these would fit together? Thanks!
I think the only way this would fit is with a short gpu. Otherwise the bottom fan takes the same spot as the default ssd mount
@@kalestarler Ah well I don't have that lmfao, have the 2.7 slot 323mm 3070 MSI Gaming X Trio, which should fit in this case but perhaps not with that fan set up then. Thanks for the info!
how do you change the motherboard configuration to allow 75mm cooler? Mine's defaulted to 67mm cooler
You can unscrew it from the back, front and bottom panels, then shift it left or right - there are screw holes for both configs
@@kalestarler Thanks.
Hey there! Thanks for making this review. May I know how much did shipping cost for you (wondering this since our countries are literally next to each other)?
It was about SGD35 for direct shipping. Case + GPU riser cable was about SGD140, so total cost was SGD175 inclusive of shipping
@@kalestarler I see. Didn't know that shipping would cost that much for this case. Is it because the case itself is substantially heavy?
Case is about 2.5kg, packaging weight maybe total about 3kg. I thought SGD35 was decent lol for something of this size, haven't ordered much from taobao before. Have had much higher shipping costs for much smaller items from the US before
@@kalestarler ahhh, for a 3kg package, that price sounds about right. Last I ordered from Taobao was a slim Cryorig XT140 fan, and the delivery costs around SGD9. Anyway, thank you so much for your review of the case! I have been looking for a sandwich style SFF case that could both fit my current GPU (the MSI RX 5700 Mech OC) as well as my Noctua NH-L12S cooler. Knowing that this case allows for different configurations instantly sold me.
Great to hear! Hope you enjoy the case too!
I have a question please notice this - is it true that a regular atx psu can fit there?
Yes, it actually comes with a bracket for mounting an ATX PSU. I didn't try it myself, but I saw some people mention it could get tight with the cabling for the power switch. And you'll also likely be unable to fit any fan under the PSU
@@kalestarler thank u
Hi i was planning on getting this exact case and currently i have the Colorful iGame 3060ti OC. I was wondering if it would fit this case.
Based on the specs of that card, it should fit. However, you will likely need a slimmer CPU cooler as the card is over 50mm in width and will need to switch to the thicker GPU configuration.
I would also be wary of the height - card is a little tall, so there's a high chance the GPU power cables may prevent you from installing a top fan above the PSU
@@kalestarler would slim fans at the top work if possible? And what type of slim cooler can you recommend?
@@ALECtomoveit If you are not using a top-hat for the case, it can only take slim 120mm fans. I've tried both Noctua and ID-COOLING slim fans, both worked great - ID-COOLING is a lot more comfortable for budget.
It is still a tight fit though - my card is about 111mm tall, but I see that yours is about 131mm tall. There's a high chance the GPU power cables will interfere with the top fan, but I can't say for certain. At the very most, I think you can still run it with just a fan over the CPU and another below the PSU, cooling should still be more than adequate
Oh and on the slim CPU cooler, it also depends on what CPU you are using. But I think a Noctua L9a or Cryorig C7 would fit, but only makes sense if they are sufficient for the CPU
@@kalestarler man thank you so much for the in depth guide and help. Im going to run a 3060ti and 5600x combo. Hoping to get one off shopee from Philippines. Im still looking for one with a top hat.
THanks for the Video man ! Really like the case
Is it possible to list the actual CPU/GPU dims restrictiction fo both modes ?
THanks
YB
You mean the size limits for GPU thickness / CPU cooler height?
1) 50mm/75mm GPU width/CPU cooler height
2) 58mm/67mm GPU width/CPU cooler height
@@kalestarler THanks a lot ! One more request - can you pls tell me shipping size & weight ? Want to order via agent, need to calculate shipping estimates. So far the shipping options they provide costs even more than case itself !!!
Where are you located? Shipping direct from Taobao was about SGD35 for me, which I think is acceptable for a SGD135 case.
I don't have the box anymore so hard to tell you the exact size. According to the site, case is about 2.5kg, packing weight about 3kg
@@kalestarler in Kazakhstan 🙂
Is the max gpu legnth supported 330mm because thats what im seeing on taobao
Referencing a more recent build I did in the same case: ua-cam.com/video/ReLefPXlveI/v-deo.html I managed to fit in a PowerColor RX6700XT which is 320mm - which is really pushing it already. You can probably go a bit longer if you dismantle the front panel and put in the GPU first, but I think 330 might really be end-to-end
@@kalestarler alright thanks thats what i was thinking i have a gtx 1080 duke its 315mm long and I really want to switch to itx and br able to use it
Length wise I think you are good! Height wise I would be a little concerned. I think you will only be able to get a slim fan over the CPU area, the GPU power cables will likely prevent you from adding a second top fan. You should be fine though with just a fan under the PSU instead :)
I would really like to get this case. Unforunately, it's not available on Aliexpress anymore. I'm familar with AE but I cannot order from Taobao and Super Buy seems pretty intransparent to me :/
It can be a bit. I struggled through it using Google Translate, but it worked out in the end lol
@@kalestarler Yeah, it definitely is tricky :) How could you order from Taobao directly? I've read they're only shipping within China (Edit: Forgot you mentioned they added shipping to Singapore). I'm located in Germany so I am wondering how much it would cost to get this case here (shipping, fees, etc.). But that probably won't work with Taobao.
There is a 3rd-party courier option still, but I'm not really sure how it works, I haven't tried that one out yet. Superbuy one of the only few options left
@@kalestarler Yes, looks like there is only Superbuy then. I cannot even manage to get to the cart on Taobao somehow. On Superbuy it says "Unable to Professional Inspect" at the ordering confirmation and that there will be no compensation if the product received has issues, as they are not responsible for any consequences. That's what's holding me off from ordering one.
@@Beats24-7 just means that they cannot provide adequate QC, if there are obvious defects, they'll let you know, I used wegobuy and hoping to receive it next week if EMS are decent. Not a fan of them sending it prebuilt as that can lead to issues during transit...
Hey man, have you managed to get around building in this case? Would love it if you have a follow-up video showcasing your build and making sort of a review of the case.
Not yet! It has been sitting on my desk for ages. I open it every now and then lol. I didn't manage to catch the new Ryzen chips on launch day. Did manage to put in an order for one though, hoping it comes in before the end of the month
@@kalestarler Ah, unlucky. Hopefully you do manage to get that CPU at the end of the day! Is that the only component you're missing, or are you waiting for other parts as well? Also, is it too much to ask for you to make a build-log type of video once you start building?
Was planning to do a video on the build!
Also waiting on GPU, just these two items
@@kalestarler Are you waiting for the new Radeon GPUs or are you going with the RTX 3000 series?
I put in an order for a 3080 some time back, so waiting on that
Any tips on how to get through checkout on Taobao for this case? I keep getting errors, but I can't read or translare the error.
Hmmm. Not exactly sure where you might be stuck. It required an additional sign up for Alipay for me, and my credit card was linked to that. I also had to turn off adblock (am using uBlock Origin on Chrome), and it helped a bit too
Use browser on computer. Taobao's app is terrible.
can you put this in your back pack
It should fit in a large backpack, would be better if it was fully padded and snug though
Where can you put the ATX PSU?
It comes with a 2nd PSU bracket for ATX PSUs. Honestly, even with the SFX PSU, height space is pretty cramped. I would advise sticking to an SFX PSU and installing fans instead.
can support dual radiator?
Don't think so. With a top-hat maybe a 240mm top and 120mm below PSU, but the bottom one is too tight a fit to be really considered feasible
Nice vid!, I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, should be arriving soon. I am also waiting for a couple of components to arrive. Have you decided on the CPU cooler already? My initial plan was the Noctua NH-12 Ghost Edition (thinking that it was a 1:1 louqe clone) + bottom exhaust slim fan (is this an option in the AKLLA?). Now I'm thinking about the NH-12S with the bigger fan + 1x bottom exhaust fan + 2x top exhaust fan, as tested by OptimumTech ua-cam.com/video/R5wFdMjlGoc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=OptimumTech. Really looking forward to seeing what you build :), good luck and thanks for this valuable content!
Could you also tell me the length of the riser cable? beware that the riser cable they're selling is PCIe 3.0. New GPUs (Nvidia 30xx, AMD 6xxx) take advantage of PCIe 4. If you're looking forward to one of the newest GPUs you will need a PCIe 4 motherboard (i.e. B550 for AMD4) + PCIe 4 cable. Best!
Yes, the riser cable they sent was PCIe 3.0. The length of the cable is about 18cm I think.
I bought the L12S, planning to do 2 top exhausts. Initially planned to mount some 2.5" drives below the PSU, but am also considering another fan. Will see how it goes and what GPU I manage to get
Do you think there’ll be a formdt1 clone anytime soon?
No idea. It is a pretty niche audience though. Might need to keep watching taobao to see!
@@kalestarler Thanks for the reply man! I'm looking to fit a 3080 and 5900x into an SFF. The AKLLA looks good but im not sure if the 3080 fits according to Optimum Tech's video on the ghost s1. Any recommendations?
@@kalestarler Also, does the Akkla A4 come with a riser cable?
@@killerleex the cable was really shown in the video if you watched it
There are 2 3080s on the market that would fit in 2-slot mode. The NVidia FE, and the EVGA XC3. I just bought the XC3, you can check out my latest video :)
Riser cable was a selectable option when buying from Taobao
will asus strix 3080 fit on this?
In the larger-GPU configuration, yes. That will also limit your CPU cooler size though, so need to be wary of both sizes
@@kalestarler asus strix 3080 + noctua l12?
btw thanks for answering. Also on the pro version is the tophat built in or can be remove? I like lower profile..
For both A4v2 and A4 Pro, tophat is optional and can be removed (also bought as separate addon)
random question, whats the name of that drill you used to unscrew the screw?
it’s a wowstick iirc
Yup, that's correct! I mainly use two toolkits for the PCs, both from Xiaomi.
Precision screwdriver set: geni.us/6LZJqX
Wowstick electric screwdriver: geni.us/5HuB
Is there enough space for ATX power?
The case has an SFX PSU mount installed by default, but it does provide an ATX mount as well, so yes. But my understanding from the instructions is that you may need to shift or modify the power button cable if you do choose to use an ATX PSU. I have not tested this personally to verify what will happen to that front power button cable.
@@kalestarler Would it be possible to get a picture of it with an ATX PSU installed ? (just the PSU alone is fine!)
@@Ahmedam3 forgetting atx would be better choice. I finally installed sfx.
@@valmet2161 I already have an ATX PSU, trying to minimize extra costs :/
Yes im in the same boat, i have a Seasonic Modular 650w atx PSU. So if it's possible to put this inside would be great.
