I just built a 8700k, 240mm aio system in this case. With the glass on it looks awesome. The build is rather easy. Much easier than the InWin A1. The toughest part of the build is tucking in the psu cables behind the power supply. For those that are worried about the magnets on the side panels; if you use the glass side panels, they are held in place by thumb screws.
I got mine's yesterday and it's nice, they even included an additional tophat. I might use it to add some fans if my 2700X and Radeon VII puts out too much heat. Only gotcha I came across is the lack of an instruction manual. I had to go the website and watch the build videos they had posted to figure out what went where.
As a current user of the Louqe Ghost S1, this is a decent competitor to the case I have. I am using the tophat with a NZXT Kraken X52 mounted on it to cool my i9 9900k. I like how this case is designed to have the bottom raised to allow more air to be drawn into the case, I'd have to look for larger feet to put on the Louqe if I wanted to increase the airflow to the case. Unlike you, I do prefer front mounted IO like you would find on the NCase M1, I would have to get a external usb hub to increase the case's functionality to my needs. Another advantage this has over the Louqe beside's it's lower price is it's ability to use the Noctua NH-L12S, the Louqe can only fit the L12 inside the case.
The NH-L12S will fit the ghost with some minor bending. The cooling solution I'm lookin at is a Cryorig C7 Cu with 3D printed adapter for a NF-12x25. This way you have a ton of fresh air to the entire mobo. I'm also not afraid to modify any case or component.
The L12S is a little beast. I typically prefer the way it exhausts air compared to typical compact top down coolers, but there are advantages to both. I just bought the C7 Cu. I think I may need to do a comparison vid now in multiple cases and configs.
@@Tekeverything*EDIT* Looks like it's back on Amazon. I do question the relevance of the Cu in the current market. It was out of stock at retailers quickly and I've seen little evidence of restock. @@Tekeverything The Cryorig C7 Cu has a loud fan, I jerryrigged mine by replacing the stock fan with the one from the Noctua NH-L9i. Helps to quiet it down while keeping the 1800X I settled with.
Loved the case, the price seems fair, almost 100 bucks cheaper than Dan A4 is something to consider. The case seems more boxy than the A4 and cheaper overall, but I think that's a good balance. I still think that if you want this firm factor you should go with bigger graphic cards, the mini versions should be used in LZ7 or syreach 4 mini
I find that the NCase M1 doesn't hold up very well. The holes that are used to hold the video card in place strip out very easily, so if you're constantly swapping hardware expect to have to that problem arise.

thanks for the review, can't wait for the results of the watercooled build. i'm still leaning towards moving my components into a Geeek A50 case but am not enjoying the design of the side panels on that case.
I have the Ghost S1 and the Steck and I like both, but the S1 is by far better in quaility. The aluminum is twice as thick, the finish is better, the tophat fits better, the screws all line up. I cannot stand the magnetic panels on the steck, as they are easily knocked off if you move the case around. I also ended up gluing the magnetic strips to the Steck’s side panel since they would fall off constantly. On the s1 you can screw the panels in from the bottom, and you can also screw the top cover in, making transport possible. The Steck does accommodate more air coolers due to the 70mm clearance. The S1 only accommodates up to 66mm. I have a big shuriken 3 in the steck and my s1 runs a kraken aio.
I'm curious to now why the Nouvolo YT channel has it's comments disabled for all the videos published on it's channel. While it can be said that the Ghost followed many design choices from the DAN A4, this one is a blatant pull of the digital files from the Ghost and then modified to say that it's different. The feet aren't a justifiable difference and the magnetic side panels do nothing to secure your components from theft if you travel to a LAN. The fact that you have to add magnetic strips yourself rather than have embedded rare earth magnets in the metal forms themselves speaks to the lower build quality. I've had both the Ghost and the DAN A4, and have worked in a sample of this case, it's really sad that they did what they did with the design. They could have been far more clever with thermal design or the front case design, perhaps with swappable modular front panel so if you wanted front I/O you could have it. In the end, they added feet which are rather useless considering the thermal design of this style of layout as it pulls in and radiates heat upward.

@@AsianHo Both this and the Ghost are literally just 7 lightly machined panels, with this one they didn't even rivet the panels together, so how are these worth $190 and $250 respectively?
@@KiraSlith $350? Typo? The Ghost S1 is $60 more than this one, I'd say it's worth that. (compared to this case). They are all overpriced when you can get a mass produced mini itx case like the fractal design nano s for less than a quarter of the price. Although supposedly the riser cables cost quite a bit so if these cases were priced like the nano S they'd cost roughly $100. I guess that's also why the Ncase M1 is cheaper, it doesn't use one of those cables.
@@atnfn Yeah Typo, sorry. $250 is still far too much. It's still about $23-40 for an identical riser through consumer channels, and they usually pay 3/4 that or less on bulk channels. Thermaltake has their own branded 300mm, similar to the one that comes in both of these cases for $60, but it's the same $40 EZ-DIY cable, just with their logo silkscreened on. The market is ripe for a $80 case just like these, It's a shame we're stuck more or less reliant on waiting for a enterprising Chinese manufacturer to make that happen until the cost associated with fulfilling EPA guidelines here in the US goes down.
Doesn't using magnetic adhesive near pc components going to cause some sort of stability issue? I'm by all means not an expert, just some dude wondering.
I know people love their tempered glass, but I gan't help but think that TG side panels in this case would be detrimental to thermals. The milled holes in the aluminium side panels provide almost all the ventilation for the components here. The fans on the PSU, CPU, and GPU all face directly out and using a non-perforated side panel with very little clearance around components is going to seriously restrict airflow. In addition to the lack of forethought that clearly went into the optional TG side panels, this case is way too close to the design of the Ghost S1 to be coincidental. I can't help but feel that this is a blatant copy of the S1 and a bad one at that. The case is clearly made from a significantly thinner guage aluminum and the panel gaps are very inconsistent and noticeable throughout. It looks like Nouvolo's goal here was to take the S1 design, make some compromises to get price down, and undercut Louqe. Seems pretty sad to me.

I do like the magnetic side panels. However, if I'm going to be putting this computer in a bag or case, id be worried. Id probably invest in some bands to keep all the panels together for travel if I were to choose this case.
Elastic head bands would probably work
I wouldn't recommend picking up this case if you are planning on traveling with it. There are fare more secure options available for travel.
Tek Everything could you say why?
Would appreciate if you can include some Thermal data. Need to know how good it handling the heat, and by the way, how to apply the dust filter?
I showed how to apply the dust filter towards the beginning, and discussed thermal data towards the end. I will put the full charts in the article.
Can you suggest the cheapest alternative of a case in this size? I want to put a 240mm AIO water cooler on a mini ITX board
This is an excellent review, thanks.
How on earth were you able to fit your Noctua 120mm case fan in there? I bought a NF-A12x15 PWM and there are no holes that match with the fan. Did you just mount it to one of the holes?
Great video! Love the looks of this case! I was wondering about shipping costs and time, as I read Nouvolos shipping terms. Did you have to pay any import fees?
Could you make a review of the Salvo Studios s401? Would love to see a 8700k build in it
@Tek Everything EVGA 1660TI MINI which is occupying almost 3 slots fits into the case?
impressive build! great hardware - am i missing out on any vid that test out the performance? interested in if such small build harms the actual performance because of ventilation disadvantage! :D
About the size of a 1500va UPS. Nice!
The cases that I have watch u review so far is either kickstarter cases not yet for sell or cases sold only in foreign countries and therefore not easily accessible in the US. Any good cases that I can buy readily in the US?
I have only reviewed 1 purely kickstarter case. The rest were all available for sale in the US
I do love this case. The things I dont love are the feet so took them off and added different ones and the magnets on mine are garbage.. they keep falling off. I wish they implemented a slide down panel like the ghost s1. Im either gonna super glue the magnets or just drill some holes and use thumb screws
A few weeks after I made this vid I noticed the magnets kept falling off my case as well. I just put a piece of masking tape on it. This fixed the issue.
I have seen a few people take the feet off. How are your temps after doing this?
@@Tekeverything I run to top fans exhausting out and the bottom exhausting out as well doing negative pressure. The feet didn't really affect my thermals. Maybe 1 degree difference. I do feel like the case isn't worth 150 dollars. At most 100
I love the itx cases!!
Very beautiful case!
Also, you can buy it.
Planing to do $120 Asrock desk mini A300? Asian youtuber already get their samples last week and it will be released to the market next week.
Until they release them in a case that can accommodate better fans I won't be picking one of them up.
Hello, what mobo did you use for this specific build?
the bottom fan should blow out though for itx build.
Is there room to attach one or two low profile fans to the top cover without the top hat? What size fan would you say would fit?
You need the top hat for fans.
I love you content, you have good radio style way of talking :) BUT it would love more technical info. some with you review on SFF. Give us some thermals for different TDP.
Nice video review!
Enjoyed your video!
Quick question: what motherboard and RAM are you using, im looking at a similiar build that size.
this just looks like a badly made Louqe Ghost s1 :/
yeah but cheaper than the ghost
Yeah still offers more then Ghost. You can get glass panels for this case, and they have magnetic side panels rather then the stupid sliding that Ghost uses
@@RoDaX55 First the glass side panels are coming for the ghost and second those magnets are not good for a case that "expensive" atleast you get quality with the ghost. But i get why this product is out there it's cheaper than the ghost but also just less but OK but i wish they would have improved the ghost more like with those "feet" under the case they could be used for usb ports (hiden ofcource so it wont spoil the look).
sorry for the long sentence and just my overal English, have a great day!
P.S. Even ripped of the colors the ghost has the same ash and limestone and then they have a copper top plate, the colors are almost Accactly the same.
Everything is wonky on this case. Gaps and panels crooked and not flat.
@@JJSnel-uh3by I currently own a pre-production model of this case and I don't get why the magnets are such a bad thing, I actually quite like them, since I do often change smaller stuff around and don't need to unscrew things every time.
Also, what color ripoff do you mean, they both come in black, that's it. Are you going to call out every case for ripping of the color matt black....
Also, the Glass side panels for the ghost S1 are coming, here they are included and production is already finished for a large part of the pledges and the cases ship out once the kickstarter ends.
To be honest, this, to me at least, is a way more organized and realistic Kickstarter campain and product than the Ghost S1. Not to be disrespectful towards the LOUQE team, they did a great job and tried their best (still not a good excuse for delays).
How were you able to install the 120mm fan? the screw holes dont line up at all with the bottom plate. I have the Noctua A12x15 and i'm a bit confused here.
ahhh i see, it looks like you drilled holes but didn't show that step
How strong are the magnets? Could I carry the case around on a travel without it falling apart? can top and side panels be screwed to the case?
The magnets are not very strong, this is not the case you should be looking into for travel.
@@Tekeverything thanks for the reply, Do you know if the magnets are replaceable? I'm a little fed up with gaming laptops and their lack of upgradability and I'm planning a mini-itx build I can carry around and use for work and gaming since I barely use my gaming laptop on battery anyway. I've got a decent laptop that I use for daily work and gaming on the go and a powefull desktop that I use exclusively for gaming and VR at home. This case looked like a good alternative to the Louqe Ghost S1 since it's cheaper and can host larger air coolers in case I decided to go that route.
do you need to have the top hat in order to install the glass side-panel?
thanks
Is it viable to do most of your build on the spine first, then build the case around it?
And can the expansion stack be put on the bottom if you want?
Doing the build on the spine would work just fine. Installing the components with the case assemble was fairly easy as well though. The expansion can't be put on the bottom. The legs are fixed.
Thanks :)
Nice build good job.
What about something like an STX like the Asrock Deskmini 310 or the Deskmini GTX? The STX motherboards are built like Thin Mini ITX motherboards. I wish they mad a thin Mini-ITX for 8th/9th generation Intel CPU's.
I missed the max. Graphics length, what was it exactly? Will a (watercooled) vega 64 strix fit?
So this essentially is just a low budget Ghost S1?
"Budget", it's still a $190 USD case. Pricing on these cases is BS.
Oh I didn't even see that it was $190usd, that's too expensive for something of this quality
The market is ripe for a $80 case just like these, It's a shame we're stuck more or less reliant on waiting for a enterprising Chinese manufacturer to make that happen until the cost associated with fulfilling EPA guidelines here in the US goes down.
if i buy this case it's because of u. thanks. a nice review.
i'm checking price.
thks bro, i love itx case!
Where can we vote for Jay as the official Mini-ITX TechTuber?
He and OptimumTech can arm wrestle for it.
Haha, OptimumTech is great. Love his channel.
That would be nice with a vega nano.
Isn't this just a Louqe Ghost S2?
No the title says it's a Nouvolo Steck Mini-ITX Case.
its here already?
what is the microphone you're using?
And the RTX 27 mini
Great video but what song is that?
Nice case, There is a newer verison..i
What motherboard did you use?
I thought Loque was pronounced LoKi like the Marvel character?
It is. Low key.
tnx a lot
Which Material is is build out of?
why do not you use the diy cable?
Never clicked a notification so fast!
Thanks for watching Shannon
So did they just take the free Louqe Ghost 3D Model files and edit them?
Looks like it...
Does it come in White?
Doesn't using magnetic adhesive near pc components going to cause some sort of stability issue?
I'm by all means not an expert, just some dude wondering.
No, Its totally fine
Can you link the music please?
Splitting the GPU off into its own compartment makes all the difference.
