  • Today we take a look at a universally hated movie that holds a special place in my heart, Highlander 2: The Quickening. Find out what makes this movie special to me and give it a watch. Also, please comment beard tips, this is new to me, I look like a chipmunk.
Stuck inside and bored beyond belief? Have an Amazon Prime Membership? You're in luck, I've got recommendations.
Have any treasures you've discovered on Amazon? Let me know and I might just make a video about them.

Are you sure you didn't watch the VHS? Because (and I could be wrong or out of date on my info), the theatrical release and it's first runs on VHS, included the Zeist alien plot. A few years later, the director's cut, AKA the Renegade Version, came out which removed the alien storyline completely. Another Special Edition version came out sometime after that with modified special effects of the Renegade Version.
Basically when I last looked into this film I thought the alien storyline could only be seen on VHS.

Grew up with the vhs, all the versions have something worth watching, like Katana getting run over.

You're correct - the first run VHS was (I think) the only release with Zeist. That never made it to DVD or Blu-ray. For those platforms we got The Renegade Version and the recently updated special effects of what I think is just called "Highlander 2" - that's the one available on BR (which I sadly own lol) and also on Amazon Prime in the US.

@@Eric________ Is that your most regretted BR purchase?

@@alecanewman Nope lol - I own The A-Team movie (that one with Liam Neeson) on BR - THAT I do regret.

You are not alone - I have an odd fondness for this this terrible film. At least the quickening scenes are fun/over the top.

Plus Sean Connery is really fun as a fish out of water, and peak Ironside villain. There’s plenty of intentional and unintentional amusement to be had.

I also have an odd fondness for the film. Someone once pointed out director Russell Mulcahy was a budget Ridley Scott and that comparison was so obvious when I re-watched Highlander 2.
