Magneto is my favorite part of this show. A man who was persecuted before his powers, who tried to do the right thing, and is punished for it. He loses his nation, he loses the girl he loves, and he is just so lost at the end and needs his friend's help to come back. My favorite scene is after Magneto looking at his helmet before rising astroid M. It's like he can't believe he's back to being the villain again, but has no choice after what happened.
I believe this was the best interpretation of magneto and is the most consistent

This show is great. As a 90s baby, I did watch reruns of this show, I think on Fox Kids? I mostly only remember the Dark Phoenix Saga.
I was very concerned when I heard they were doing a sequel series since Hollywood had already destroyed the X-Men with two awful attempts at the phoenix saga, and they ruined the timeline with the last two prequel films. Disney's inclusion of certain X-Men characters thus far, such as Professor X in Dr Strange 2 had also been bizarre. However, I am grateful my assumptions on the failure of this show were wrong.
The writers did a great job by emphasising this as an ensemble cast, not just a "Wolverine and his allies" film. Almost everyone on the team had their moment to shine (though I wish we had more Bishop) and the animation was great. It also has a really amazing soundtrack.
Thank you and this made my week. I try to keep it positive because comics were my outlet growing up so only fair to give credit where it's due. And the show was phenomenal both the original series and this as well . You guys in the 90s were eating good when it comes to shows. And I love seeing people enjoy what I make because it makes me smile. I make videos not for the numbers but for you guys. We have a community that can be very toxic but here is a place where we can enjoy, debate, whatever. Now I'm not gonna lie to you, the fox X-men movies might get a little bit burned lmao because they aren't perfect by any means. But I will still keep the same energy because without them Comic book movies or shows would not have made it as far as they did. Especially due to the comic bust of the 90s. So I'll keep the content coming. Thank you again🫱🏾🫲🏽

X-men '97 is PERFECTION to me it better than Young Justice Season 3 and 4.
So glad the 2000s kids are finding out how fire the classic X-Men are and how they are nothing like the foxmen travesties.

Honestly I feel like the episode count was too small and the cast was too large, making arcs feel rushed and crammed. Hoping next season is longer.
Well I think with how they are doing this some seasons may have other characters get more of their own stories. But I didn't feel any rushing or cramming that might be because of the pacing of the original series. But I have no doubt that in the next seasons other characters with be even more involved. They did a damn good job with the first season though
Morph was literally non-binary, as in he can literally be either gender. This is different from being non-binary in the modern figurative sense of not wanting to be labeled one gender.
This was a great way to explain it. If people are fans of the character know the character. ITS MORPH WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. 😭😭
As a kid I always thought Morph was in love with Wolvie. It will be awesome to see their relationship evolve in season 2. But yeah Morph being nonbinary makes perfect sense, they're as much male as female.

You think morph was just wolverines friend, Sorry the creator admitted he has Romantic Feelings for Wolverine !!! I don’t recall that in any comic!! Wolverine was not punished he was just focused on less my man. He still had shining moments like with him and nightcrawlers team up or idk with him WOUNDING MAGNETO. Don't get me wrong Morph is definitely non binary in this show and I get it's different but it's MORPH. The guy who literally can change into any thing. Man woman animal, ANYTHING. Yes he may have had feelings for Logan but Did it have any affect on the story? Their "relationship" is not a lover relationship OBVIOUSLY. So what if he has feelings for him. They aren't even gonna put them together because of the backlash and also because Logan is still straight. Wolverine is a popular character but remember he isn't the main character of every X-men story. We as fans haven't gotten a decent representation of any of the X-men. Cyclops in the comics is awesome. He is in this show. Jean is an op X-men in the comics. She is in this show. Charles Xavier is a man that constantly makes mistakes in the comics. In recent adaptations they make him almost perfect. But in this show they make him as close to his comic book counterpart than anything else. But just because the character that LITERALLY CHANGES INTO DIFFERENT THINGS doesn't consider himself male or female, we got people here complaining. Like come on. It doesn't ruin the story or the source material so I don't see a problem. It's only when it's forced that I see it being a problem. Morphs love life in the comics is barely explained so I don't see it ruining his character either. He actually has a part to play with the team this time and has cool moments. As fans we need to stop expecting a copy and paste of comic book stories because a ruins our chances of getting good different ones. And Wolverine not being the center of attention is common in X-men comics btw. BECAUSE IT X-MEN NOT THE WOLVERINE SHOW. No disrespect if you don't like, ya don't like it🤷🏽♂️. But doesn't change the fact that the majority of X-men fans don't see a problem with this.
The Morph stuff is strange, especially the Wolverine shower scene. It would be no different if we got a Jean Grey shower scene, or a Beast shower scene. It just doesn't belong in a cartoon and is kind of ridiculous that we have people sneaking that garbage in for children to watch on Disney+
That being said, I don't think the Morph stuff ruins the show. I was pretty pleased with the outcome and am very excited to see what season 2 brings. A rare example of a revival living up to the quality of the original series, in my opinion of course.
@@robertbarnes1828 my friend, I personally don't think this show is age appropriate for children at all. If you do have kids I personally suggest that you only let them watch if their sixteen and older. I would like to believe what you said was an off hand comment but cartoon does not equal for kids and the shower scene, albeit odd, isn't present for being present sake.....it is a story element to further in the idea that Morph has sexual and romantic feelings for Logan and I for one think that's pretty cool.

Listen, Wolverine and the X-men exists and all the Fox movies exist. If you want more Wolverine centered X-men stuff......go enjoy that content because it's there but please do take in mind that '97 is a series which will continue as long as we as X-men fans show Disney that this is the kind of shows we want to watch.......which means more possible Wolverine centered plot points but with the beauty of not shafting the other characters who are amazing.

Btw since Morph is nonbinary, it wouldn't make Wolvie gay if he did end up going out with Morph. And really all we know about Wolvie's orientation is that he is attracted to women. We don't know anything else. Maybe he can and has had feelings for guys too, it was just never mentionned.
Whatever the exact nature of Wolverine's feelings for Morph, we do know that he loves them very much. It looks like friendship, might be more, might also be some unique, once-in-a-century special bond. Logan is extremely old and has felt alone all his life. Maybe we finally get to see him loved and happy with someone. Gender isn't that important after all.
Idk if I'd call it perfect tho, I think jesterbell did a pretty good job and highlighting some of its problems

the pacing is way too fast though and they're burning thought stories too quickly, and its kinda taking me out of slightly at times, also most of the og cast sound great but i have to admit cal dodd's voice just isn't the same
Oh I could understand that I think due to me watching the original series before this helped due to how fast the pacing was back then. But you are definitely right about this being better than anything else Disney had put out.
