Yup, that's the dream. Thanks for the tips.
I've seen a lot of kickflip tutorial videos, and I gotta say this might be the most useful one I've seen! It's filled with really practical tips that kinda break down the gradual learning process of attempting a kickflip! Great job, Jason! Your hot feet are not in vain
I had “tried” kick flips before, but seriously tried for about 5 days during summer break with like 16 hours in total. Landed 1 in all of that and haven’t landed anymore, brutal.
I learned how to heelflip a while ago but got hurt trying it again lol once I recover I'll use this advice and learn the kickflip :D
It takes a few years to really get them down, Kickflip is super important to learn
I landed a couple kickflips a while back and then sprained my ankle and have to re learn them
Dude I just sprained my ankle two days ago trying to do a heel flip
Slow mo at 1:51 helped me understand it sooooo much better without even watching the rest lol
When he said basic, my heart stopped 😂😭😭
Great tips Jason, I aspire to have kickflips like yours some day! Thanks!
100% best kickflip tutorial!!!!!! (insanely good)
The vivid markings: Solid advice, thank you. I immediately noticed a difference in my focus and outcome.
Nice tuto man!! you really gave some useful tips there👌🔥
Thanks for the video Jason! Your tutorial is one of the best ones I’ve watched. I know how to kick flip but I still like learning as much about my tricks from other people as I can.
Props on posting such a useful video. I’ve got my kickflips locked but it’s great to see a video where the teacher says “watch other videos” because that’s the key. Everyone’s kickflip is different and you need to see as many as possible to find out what fits/works with you. Good job, Jason.
I’m one of the “front foot in the middle of the board” guys. I flick off exactly where your square is tho.
Very useful !!!!
Great tutorial, Jason. The kickflip at 3:13 was so sick the way you caught it with your back foot. Super rad 🤙
Great tutorial! Love your videos! I recently decided to get my kickflips down and made a video on why I suck at them to point out my problem areas that others might be struggling with as well. Like you said, I started making tutorials that I wish I had as a kid. I did the same thing with watching foot placement on VHS and then going out and trying it.
Good thing for youtube is you can change the playback speed and watch any videos in slow motion on youtube now it's awesome
This was super helpful, got like an inch away from it today! Please make more trick tips!!!!! :)
I appreciate this. Been struggling with my health but skating is gonna be a good motivator for me because we all know how fun it is even all by your lovely self. I could spend all day skating man! I just get so tired so I'm trying to get healthier, cutting out sugar and stuff. For the love man!
This is so useful you earned this sub
thanks jason
More, more, more tutorials!!! 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for the tips man :) I'm refining my kickflip more before i do a varial flip BUT IM GETTING CLOSER
THANK YOU!
I’ve seriously watched countless videos on kickflips. I know how to do them but Im a year and some change of picking skating back up after 14 years of no skating. My kickflips are sloppy and feel heavy. Im 6’2, 235 pounds so my springy kickflips i did as a kid are hard to do. I’ve tried so many different tips from pros and other videos but this video really stuck with me. I still struggle with balance and weight distribution but I’m still progressing. Thanks for the video and detailed tips!
thanks for the video, i love your energy
Joo
Thank you very much, very good video 👏
Hahaha that Tony Hawk sound ! Brilliant !
This is such a great video! Thanks for the Playstation markings, bro! I really appreciate this video! Cute shirt.
Thank you for this and the visuals on the board. Im tempted to cut arcs into my tape for my foot to follow. Managed to "land" 2 shady ones today. My problem was not flicking backwards kinda, I was doing more of a bad Ollie North. I still have trouble, sometimes the board sticks to my front foot and flies in front or drags with it in a front shuv fashion, but I feel like I made some progress.
best kick flip tutorial i ve ever seen
This is great, I'm just trying to learn kickflips atm!
Good upload. I remember landing stationary kickflips as a teenager back in the day buy could never figure it out moving. Now I'm getting back into skating to teach my kid and I don't know how I ever did it lol its so hard
oh man, that trick tip was golden.👌 It was motivational (some people forget that part, we all need a little bit of "you can do it". :P), fun, very logical and well explained with good cinematography..... and It was on a tennis curt too, no,... you don't understand, I absolutely love when someone skates on a tennis curt.:P man, I think I now have a new source that I can link to people when they want to land kickflips. :) ps: let's hope the youtube algorithm thinks the same.:P
Haha thank you so much! Glad you share an appreciation for the tennis court ground 😊
This is a good video because most people lead you to believe that it's different from an Ollie, but actually it's the same motion and all except for the foot coming off the nose instead of stopping at the nose!
Love the vid
6:59 that DOUBLE TAP 👌
Amazing video. I never thought it was worth me even trying, but this tutorial makes me want to give it a whirl, after all what’s the worst that can happen?? lol !!!
thank you :]
Awesome dude this is helpful. Could you do a heel flip one? I’m still working how to push my front foot out or push it down or wtf
thanks mate
7:56 is me man.. I've landed some stationary but I see the problem now haha thanks man
Teach me to hardflip jason park your crazy good
Symobols are great idea 💡
You got me spoiled, I was expecting a tutorial about doing a kickflip holding a pipping hot pineapple pizza on top of your head while juggling three katooshed jabbas X)
Good tutorial and useful tips.
Jason is 1 of the most underrated slaters ever
I've been at it for a year and still can't get both feet on the board. All these tips are golden but if I may add what helped me get the board to flip with more control/speed is 1) when I flick I draw a "J" with my foot instead of trying to hit it dead on 2) I try to move my front foot back before kicking forward; kind of like a wind up. It feels weird but when I film myself doing it, it really helps my foot come up before kicking out which helps keep my board under me 3) take breaks. I get frustrated easy and go non stop 20-30 times with like a couple seconds in between each try and get no where. Take my tips or don't but this is just what I've learned on my journey to landing the ever elusive kickflip.
Hey bro, Can you send me your video
Send a video
I love skating because you can do it in any weather as long as the ground is dry
Thank you I just did my first kick flip today
Mahalo jason park! can you do pop shove / pop shuvit trick for ur next video?
JEEEZ I WANT THIS
i like ur shirt bro :)
The first person slo-mo shots remind me of Yeah Right!
your insta got me here u be shredding
Hey Jason, thanks for the tips. Do you have any specific advice on how to get the front foot on? I can flip reasonably well and get my back foot on, but I think I'm kicking down with my front foot and it always ends up on the ground.
I was the 700th view Jason ur most dope for including ur girl in ur videos and ur comity is always great I have a brother in Hawaii And I can’t see him and I’ve always wanted to see the ocean surf and skate over there
varial flip tutorial would also be swag
My oldman potato body is totally inspired by your mad potato body skills. I have my ollie locked after 6months of daily practice, now working on (pop) shuvs. Thinking a 360 flips toot would be the killer next toot as the scoop flick looks nearly impossible. 🥔🛹🔥
Ur spot looks very nice
Pls do treflip having trouble on those

yessah!
The grip is beautiful 🤩
XBOX!!!!!
my dad said I can’t watch Jason anymore because he likes PlayStation
The upper body is underrated in most tutorials. Check the ollie - kickflip comparison at 3:03, the chest never moves.
Maybe your comment is the last little piece i needed! Never thought about the chest...
I landed a lot of Kickflips but this could be the key to land them constantly 🙏
@@surpriseshoveit3514 keep us posted! Most tutorials focus on feet and legs, but the movement of arms and torso are key too! I wish someone filmed kickflips from above the head. Birds perspective.
Oh my god I just did a kick flip!
Yessss I've been needing a tutorial. Good stuff!
What did you use to add those symbols? I want to do something like these with different symbols
Great vid! I have a progress video of kickflips and it definetly helps to see your crazy tricks !
I have a question, is doing a kickflip one fluid motion? Or do you like slide your foot up then kick it out, are you supposed to "kick" harder once you've slid your foot up?
hi jason i always seem to land with my back foot on the board but my front foot on the ground, is it just a confidence problem?
I can heel flip almost consistently, but I can’t kick flip to save my life hopefully these tips worj
I love that playstation button idea
Duuuude do hard flip you’re awesome at those
Do pop shoveit too
Plz make a 360 hardflip tutorial video
hi jason can do a trick tip of frontside flip
hey man. I can do the pop, the flick but I can't catch it. Any recommender?
I did an ollie once.
Hey Jason, idk if you've done anything like this but could you do something about how to nollie? It's something I'm working on at the moment and it feels so alien to me that I can't even pop the nose D:
Hey can you please do a pop shovit guild to this video help me so much to made me land my first kick flip thank you so much
smith grind tutorial?
Any advice on shoulder positioning? It seems like they need to be a bit more open and less square with the board to make the kick more comfortable (otherwise you are kicking behind you at an awkward angle, right?).
You need to align your spine to the angle of your front foot and not only for the kickflip, pretty much every trick, it's bs when they say to keep them square.
Y’all making it look easy😭😭
Jason Park, a sponsored skateboarder from the Waikiki Bay Area 😂
I have big problem when I kick i will do shuit, i need more practise to do ollie what can i do ?
Maybe you mentioned this and I just missed it, what did you use to create the colored shapes on your grip tape?
I use paint pens! Mine specifically are from a company called Boardstix but any work!
Thanks, friend!
how long did it took you to learn it i just learn how to flip but not land
Heelflip next
I’ve been so frustrated with kick flips lately I can land them stationary but moving is a struggle I hope this helps nice video tho thx
Bro same I got them on lock stationary but when I try them moving I get so close. I did like 2 kickflips moving but slipped back. I was so sad but probably by now you can do it
Bro yes believe it or not I just got them on lock like a 3 days ago same with heel flips something just clicked and just said stop being scared and land it in my mind and it was really that simple like I was ready to give up I know you will get them soon too it will be the best day ever 🙌 good luck 👍
@@thebayharborbutcher9115 thank you
I'm just here for "my name Jason".❤
Can someone please help me with some tips of how to jump high and commit after the flick?
Ok can I ask why you don’t have skate shoes on??
Whats with hips and shoulders?
I always open it out of fear. The ollie is perfect, but when I flip my front arm always get back and I lose my balance. Please help me!
Next video, Nana lands her first kickflip!
my man been rocking the squid game deck since 2020
I struggle to keep my board under me when kickfliping. I always seem to kick it way in front of me. What can I do that will help me with this?
Yeah that can have a few causes, one being not flicking off the nose around the 'square' as Jason showed enough. If that doesn't help try to adjust your timing flicking later or earlier and if that doesn't work try to lean forward to the nose of the board a little bit more. Not too much though, because then your front foot will end up in a downwards flick. Anyway, I can keep the board under me fine, I'm struggling to have the board rotate under me. And definitely is like 80% a commitment thing. It's funny, but to me the varial kick flip is less scary to do.
Yeah maybe you’re flicking too late??
