Hello again , i still love all of your couriosity about country , i know you are enjoying all of them but come on , the smile on your face it gets there sneakaly and got there and just got bigger and stayed there , fantastic ! You should try to find out if you can find the Undercover Boss he was on and he helped some really sweet people ! You would love it ! Keep smilin ! 😍😍
A little scoop on Darius Rucker. Before he started singing country music, he was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish and was very successful in the pop genre. Now he's extremely successful in country! 😀
He made an excellent choice to go "country". I loved Hootie & the Blowfish but they kinda fizzled out with other new artists stealing their thunder (happens in all genres - only a few last for decades). I love his country side too & this song/video is great!😊
The sad part about Darius is he always wanted to be country, but his "handlers" convinced him we'd never accept him. Imagine all the country music he could have been making all these years. Let Her Cry was actually written to be a country song.
You have got to see the original group who did this “Old Crowe Medicine Show.” I grew up in the Appalachian mountains in NC. They are a bluegrass band. I have always loved Darius and when I heard it done by him I absolutely loved it right off the bat! Great reaction!!
I was hoping you’d get to this song eventually! I know people who don’t even like country but love this song, there’s just something about it. Absolutely incredible. Looking forward to hearing your future reactions! Have been loving the content so far
This is not a “country “ song! It’s just a great song! Kudos to Old Crow Medicine Show and even more to Darius Rucker on his delivery! Every song he touches is uplifted! He could have stayed home after Cracked Rear View, still the number 5 selling album in the world! But he continues to amaze us!
Hello from Texas! Hootie covered this song. The original version is done by The Old Crow Medicine Show. Hootie does a good job with it. But the original is better. Just not as well known. Alot of people think Hootie wrote this. He did not write any part of it.
@@catofthecastle1681, for a song that isn't country, it sure got a lot of air play on country radio stations. So I guess a lot of people think of it as a country song.
Wagon Wheel one of country music's most covered songs and, for me, Darius' version can't be beat. Absolutely loved your reaction especially at the end when he wakes up, really took you by surprise. Love how you treat every song you react to with such respect no matter the genre. Thank you for the joy!
@@madogthefirst I said "one of" it's also considered Bluegrass. It's been covered by groups from the USA to Italy, England, Ireland etc. Some famous some not. here are a few Adam Ezra Group...Blues duo Salty Dog...Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup...Quattro Formaggio (Italy)...William Crawley and Hugo Duncan (Ireland)..Somewhere St.(Ireland)..Bluegrass Bros...Slack Family....Fat Cactus and played at nearly every Bluegrass Festival here and abroad. Thank you for your reply, keeping me on my toes.
I love it when people who would have automatically changed the station when a twangy country song came on actually give it a chance and find a love and appreciation for country they never thought possible, especially the golden era from the early artists through to the 90’s.
This actually a cover he did that became more popular than the original which was done by Old Crow Medicine Show, their interpretation is very different.
Darius Rucker has one of the best, smoothest voices in country music! This one’s without a doubt the most popular, but my personal favorite is “It Won’t Be Like This For Long”. You would love it, here’s the official video: ua-cam.com/video/y5zCaRaJ-kE/v-deo.html
I loved your reaction!😁😍 I've watched the Home Free version of this song, but this is my first time watching Darius do this song & it was fantastic! I love both versions but what a fun surprise right off the bat when he's lying in bed with Duck Dynasty playing on his TV, then Uncle Si Roberson picking him up in his truck, then Willie, Sadie & Korie Robertson in the truck, on the bus & in the club & Jase Robertson in the club singing; so this was a really fun video! 🥳😊 The other guy in the video is Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, not sure about the girl & the other guy unless they're Hillary Scott & Dave Haywood also of "Lady A".
Some may be surprised to learn that this fun song was co-written by the amazing Bob Dylan & Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show. Darius's version definitely puts a smile on your face.
Bob Dylan and two co-writers wrote the music to this song back in 1973. It was not finished and was under the name Rock Me Mama and he just shelved it. Somehow it got into the hands of bootleggers and was being played and the named changed to Wagon wheel. It was found by Old Crow Medicine Shows lead singer who wrote the lyrics and put it in their show. Then Darius found it and made it a hit. According to Wikipedia.
FYI...everyone he gets a ride with and the "bouncer," at the club at the end are members of a family that has a TV show called "Duck Dynasty". All the men have long hair and long beards! When he wakes up, the folks he talks with at the end are those same people.
Darius Rucker's performance is great, he has a beautiful voice. I also love the version by Old Crow Medicine show that was my husband's favorite. It's good you have expanded your musical horizon. I both played and taught classical violin but I sure do appreciate good country fiddling.
Just joined your channel. Coming from a huge music fan, i love watching reactors that are new to country music listen to it. I listen to all kinds of music but some of the best voices and story telling are found in country music. And most people never give it a shot due to its reputation. Love watching you react to it
Darius Rucker is from Charleston, SC. This happens to be my hometown! People see him all over town all the time. He’s a regular guy and doesn’t act like some big singer. There’s a road next to the North Charleston Coliseum named after him. He’s a really cool guy! As other people have pointed out to you, he started out in the band Hootie and the Blowfish. FYI Chris Stapleton wrote a song called “Comeback Song” and Darius Rucker released it. Pretty cool!!!!
Just saw him at the Country Music fest. Amazing singer from my state of South Carolina. He is very popular here in the South. Nothing he sings is disappointing. Enjoy your Darius Rucker experience......
Just cant stop watchin your fantastic reaction to darius rucker and the music ! Its obvious you have no idea who the robertsons are ! Its ok ! The smile slowly creeps in on your face and it dosent go away ! Good stuff ! 😍😍
I loved this song when I first heard it by Old Crow Medicine Show. They are more of a modern bluegrass band. I think you’d like some of their stuff like “Tennessee Pusher”, “We Don’t Grow Tobacco” and “Methamphetamine” Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is one you should react to. Try “Fishin’ In The Dark” and “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” (a cover of a very old country song) ☮️🌼♥️🇺🇸 Fun fact: the people in the video are from the reality show “Duck Dynasty” that was very popular on tv for several seasons.
All those people in the video or from duck dynasty TV show I believe he asked them to be in the video Darius Rucker was born with that country soulful singer I know he started in hootie and the blowfish 🎸
It's how different yet the same his voice performing Country Music versus his time in Hootie and the Blowfish if that makes sense. I love his voice in both genres. I think you'd love Hootie and the Blowfish as well. They are a blend of Pop, Blues, Soul, Rock, and a bit of Folk.
It warms my heart to see people discovering these stories for themselves and enjoying them! Even the happy songs can make a person tear up because of the warmth you feel while listening to it and picturing the story in your mind.
Here's a good one from when he was with Hootie & The Blowfish. It's not technically country, but I think he has much the same vibe even then. "Only Wanna Be With You" ua-cam.com/video/Ln6WQqRDrCo/v-deo.html
I happen to LOVE Darius MORE after the Blowfish era. Darius has a better fit in COUNTRY. Just my opinion. (I am a snob. I did an undergraduate degree in music, classical voice.) I have a Masters in History as well. I have played guitar, fiddle, harmonica, and am a 1st Tenor. My musical experience covers Funk, Jazz, Country, Fusion Jazz, Jazz, Zydeco, Gospel, etc. I am a brass man (cornet, trumpet, baritone, trombone, harmonica,). Darius has and will do his best work in some type of Country. Why? He is a country kid. He knows this. His soul is in country/ blue grass/ country pop. He is legit!
Love your smile.. the joy of the ol country music. Much love from Oklahoma . Enjoy your reactions. Darius was ina band called hoodie and the blow fish. Great stuff not country.
He’s a great guy, my granddaughter went to school and best friends of Kenny (son of Hootie and the blowfish guitarist and stepson of the drummer) I met the a few times at parties and graduation, they are all awesome people. I live in Georgia but originally from Columbia, Sc GO COCKS!, Darius sings of SC quite often. We all love SC. You must come to visit, ya here?
Country music is so good. You have good taste in music mate. Im not used to this type of music either my fellow brit im also from england. I subbed btw.
