So he mentioned that he had never seen a black country musician before. There is a black country singer who is popular . I can't remember her name. Can anybody help me out? Seems like her name starts with a k
@@FXMAN66 Jimmie Allen in his song down home he sings about bumping Charlie pride up in his F150. I never knew who that was until I heard that and decided to look him up. Good shit
I really love Darius Rucker he is one of the most admired country singers I've ever seen. Even though he was in the group Hoodie and the Blowfish him going out on his own with country music made him much bigger than ever.
Darius Rucker is one of the best country singers in the last 20 years and there have been some good country singers too in that time. So I definitely Love Darius Rucker
Yes it is the Duck dynasty family. Darius is great, country music is simply story telling, knows no skin tone, male and female. You've got Country Blues, Country Pop, Country Rock, Country Hick Hop (Rap), songs that are crying in your beer sad, dancing and celebrating, telling your story about whatever. Have fun exploring a whole new world.
Darius has a very, very, good country-genre voice. Sounds great live, and then when he mixes in his H&TB hits it just gets the crowd going in a ridiculous fashion. I am waiting for him to come back around to my town of Virginia Beach so I can go see him again. He also has some good video at "Daryls House"... check it out. Great reaction, TY.
You should see the live version of this. The crowd singing and dancing, it is awesome! There's room for everyone in country music! Check out Chris Stapleton and H.E.R. at the CMA awards. Darius singing Alright. Fire. Great reaction!
The legend Charlie Pride is a a must for Black Country artists, there are also 3 black women that are a fairly new country group “chapel hart” they are super sweet and talented brother ❤️
Met him once in augusta during the masters where he always does rock for dough concert. It’s a benefit concert to raise money for under privileged kids. He was so nice.
You need to check out the original, barrier breaking Black Country singer Mr. Charlie Pride. Kiss an angel good morning and you’re my Jamaica are two of my favorites.
He used to be in a rock band named "Hootie and the Blowfish" which were popular late 80s early 90s. I saw him perform this live a few years ago. He's great. This is probably one of his best songs. Extremely catchy!
Charley Pride is an absolute legend in country music and really the first black man to be a true country star. We won the CMA Entertainer of the Year award in 1971 and has dozen of country hits to choose from. Darius is also talented and can perform in so many genres but thankfully has been treating the country fans for many years now.
❤️❤️❤️ Darius Rucker is amazing. Used to be with the band Hootie and the Blowfish and they have a lot of good songs as well. If you are wanting to listen to another Black Country artist, Charley Pride is your man.
Charlie Pride was the first famous black country singer, many, many years ago. Darius was lead singer for Hootie & the blowfish for many years & is now a solo artist. Check out his tune 'Alright', 'Comeback song', 'It won't be like this for long' or 'Don't think I don't think about it', too. Darius has several great country hits. There are definitely more singers of color now. Check out Kane Brown. He is mixed & super talented newer young country artist. My favorite songs by Kane are 'Heaven' & 'Homesick;' which are slower tunes but he has some fun ones too, like 'One Mississippi'.
When I worked at the Nursing Home this song came on in the lounge on the tv where residents hung out between meals and other engagements and they loved it. A lot of them were singing along and it was a really memorable experience.
One of the best selling and most beloved country singers of all time was black. The late, great Mr. Charley Pride. There’s Darius, Tony Jackson, Kane Brown, Jimmie Allen, Second Chaynce, Chapel Hart, lots lots more! Country is just soul music with twang 😉
I just enjoyed watching your smile grow..music should do that! We are all luckier than we realize...vast majority, nothing is perfect..but we have ppl that love and care about us and we should be grateful!
Kane Brown is another huge black country artist. There are a few others and more are stepping into the genre. Chapel Hart are 3 black women(2 sisters and a cousin) I really think you would enjoy. They are country. They do an original song based off Dolly Pardon's Jolene called You Can Have Him Jolene. Dolly loved it
Loved Darius Rucker when he was with Hootie And The Blowfish. Still love him with his solo career. Charley Pride is a Black Country singer. Saw him in the 70s.
This is hilarious, fun, and fabulous seeing all sorts of people jamming to country bluegrass. And the shock on people's faces seeing that Darius is an AA. I love it. Come together people!
Check out Charlie Pride. A black guy who was one of the most popular country singers of all time. Back in the 60s and 70s it seemed like 20% of all the songs on the radio were Charlie Pride songs. Granted, some of those songs were songs first done by someone else, but he put his stamp on them. And often his version was better than the originals.
Check out Tony Jackson's cover of George Jones song "The Grand Tour" or Charlie Pride's "Kiss an Angel Good Morning". Charlie is a country music legend!
Charlie Pride! A very successful black singer from the 60-70's. I remember being very young and my grandparents were thrilled to get tickets to his show for their anniversary in Illinois. He's the king when it comes to a black country music artist, he paved the way
I want to meet Darius Rucker. I grew up during Hootie and the Blowfish's popularity but I didn't listen to them much because I was more into country music and 80's rock. But when Darius started doing country music I just loved him. He is one of my favorite country artists of all time.
Great one; I much prefer this/Darius Rucker's Country career to Hootie and the Blowfish, but that's just a matter of personal taste. One of the most successful Country Artists was black, Mr. Charley Pride ❤
If you watch Ken Burns " History of Country Music, he has an early part about the contribution of Black ( early artist) to country & western music. Many came from the hills of NC & Tennessee. Sadly, racism prevented them from getting the acclaim. Many have acknowledged the roots of Gospel, Folk and Blues to Country Music. Ken Burns did a great job telling the story. Morden Day Country has made strives to embrace Black Artist today.
Charley Pride was the first Black country music artist I heard of back n the day. You might want to checkout "Kiss An Angel Good Morning." Great singer. 👍🏽
They way you smile put a smile on my face I have seen you react to other videos And you I know you have a love for just good old music Again that smile says it all Be blessed Amen
Besides Darius Rucker and the late great Charley Pride, there were many other African American country singers - Ray Charles (yes, he recorded a lot of country music in his own style), Stoney Edwards, "Big" Al Downing, Linda Martell, O.B. McClinton, Dr. Cleve Francis, etc...... they're all worth checking out.
My husband use to sing this to our baby before she was born all the time. Once she was born and heard the song she would stop crying... The power of music is amazing! Look up the Cumberland gap it's God's country
I actually seen Darius in concert but it was HOOTIE AND THE BLOW FISH at the time. And it was outside by he water in Hampton, Virginia of like maybe 100 people..I sat on the grass and the band was maybe 50 feet from me?..Darius Rucker is a cool guy.
Well then you may be pleasantly surprised that he wasn't the only black country music artist. Here's another country music artist "Charlie Pride - Kiss An Angel Good Morning (Live)" his greatest musical success came in the early to mid 1970's, when he was the best-selling performer for RCA Records since Elvis Presley, he also earned his place in the Country Music Hall of Fame. However, Charlie Pride was also a professional baseball player, before he broke into Nashville stardom, he was a pitcher for the Memphis Red Sox and Birmingham Barons of the Negro League playing from 1953--1958 My mom and dad had a steady stream of his records along with their other favorite artists playing on the console all the time, lol he was a character🤠🪕😉🔥💖🎶
You have to check out the amazing Charlie Pride, a legend and first black inductee in the Country Music Hall of Fame, performing "Kiss an Angel Good Morning". He won 3 Grammys and had 30 #1 hits.
I recommend Charlie Pride. He showed up at the Grand Ole Opry. It was back in the radio days. No one knew he was black. The curtains opened he sang. He was the first black singer at the Grand Ole Opry and they didn’t care.

He'll always be "Hootie" to me. Lol I haven't seen you do Home Free in a while....they did this song Mashup with "song of the south" by Alabama. It's really good. 😉🥰🥰
Practically all the people he gets rides from are from Duck Dynasty! Starting with Uncle Sy ending with Jace, then erybody is in the "I just woke up..." part!
Just so you know Jimmie Allen is a Black county singer as well. Also Darius Rucker had a band called Hootie and the Blowfish, and the guys you see are from Duck Dynasty
It was a Bob Dylan unfinished song that Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show added lyrics to. He also changed the tune a bit. Rucker does a good version also. It’s not as raw as Old Crows version to me!
You must listen to Hootie and the Blowfish. "Hold My Hand" and "Let Her Cry". Darius Rucker is so very talented.
i always had an affinity for Hootie, dunno why lol
Come on Bo Hootie is from Charleston and went to USC ! Look up Charlie Pride!!!
But he did not write it. He barely did it differently. It is a Bob Dylan song. He wrote it, he sang it. Bob Dylan wrote"lots" of Music.

I met Charlie Pride late one night at a party. The man was a giant (physically as well as musically).
I loved Hootie and the Blowfish and I love him solo too. Great voice, very different!!
Charlie Pride had 29 #1 country hits. My favorites: “Anyone Going to San Antone”. “Crystal Chandelier”.
I saw him in concert a couple years ago, he was fantastic! He sang country, some old Hootie songs, even some rap. He is incredibly talented.
