Correction Cockcroft-Gault formula CrCl (male) = ([140-age] × weight in kg)/(serum creatinine × 72) Creatinine clearance is greater than GFR because of tubular secretion of Creatinine [125-145 ml/min] Tests for assessment of renal functions A.For assessment of renal diseases 1. I think if Clearance Rate is measured for Creatinine then its value is more than that of GFR as it is secreted in renal Tubule. This is why Renal Creatinine Clearance slightly overestimates GFR. Other than that very nice summary. :)
Sir there are two mistakes in this video. First , clearance of creatinine is more than GFR as it is secreted too . Second, in that cockcroft gault eqn , Plasma creatinine conc should be in denominator . Thank you ❤️

very clear and simple, what is the meaning of low calcium 2.08, low uric acid 0.16, low chloride 80, sodium 117 and urea 5.0, creatinine 80, is this kidney failure? thanks
Sir if clearance is decreased it means substance is reabsorbed so kindly check with the creatinine explaination creatinine would be reabsorbed and not secreted
Very good lecture. I am 62 year old, and my eGFR is 55 mL/min, sodium, potassium and creatinine levels are normal. Should I be concerned about the eGFR result? I was led to believe the eGFR is a unreliable test especially if you are very muscular like I am. Thanks
Sir we want pancreatic function test and thyroid profile test.. our exam is in the August.. so if u make this as soon as possible we will be grateful to you..
Only swelling in ankle does not indicate kidney disease. But in HT u should rule out kidney disease. Just visit ur physician for better advice. Take care.
@@Rajesh_Jambhulkar Sir how does secretion effect gfr to become low? As secretion occurs for creatinine doesn't the creatinine clearence be more than that of inulin?
Can u plz tell me the difference between assessment of kidney disease and that of renal function...... bcoz if there is some abnormality in renal function,it would be because of some disease
In hemolytic jaundice, due to increased RBC breakdown, there is increased level of unconjugated bilirubin in blood. This then gets converted into urobilinogen in the small intestine, which is then excreted through urine. Thus level of urinary urobilinogen rises in hemolytic jaundice. But, in the other 2 there is no such increased bilirubin level & hence they don't show increased urinary urobilinogen levels.

Yesss
💯
Yes some amount of creatinine is secreted into the renal tubules..So inulin is best for gfr estimation
And PAH for rpf
Yes near about 5-10 % increase in gfr is seen in case of creatinine clearance
I wasted my 1 hr in trying to prove why it's less

The formulas which r difficult ....seems to be easy when u explain them...ty sir...

Sir the Noraml range for creatinine clearance is given as 120 - 145ml/min. In book..
Values like that always check from standard books .
Sir u cleared each nd every doubt easily ur the best biochemistry tecaher,
Perfect for last day revision, thank you soo much for the beautiful explanation sir.😇

I have fall in love with ur way of teaching and especially ur hand written notes(concise), no more words ,, thanks a lot sir
thank you sir from me and all the 1st proff medical students of West Bengal....For u I got honours in biochemistry ❤
Congratulations
Keep it up ❤️
Good morning sir .thanks for this amazing lecture
Ur teaching and ur notes of biochem which I had purchased are really awesome 👌thanks 😊 a lot sir
The creatinine clearance value must be higher than d gfr....bcoz it is again secreted into the tubule....
yes
Yesss
yes, but why sir said low
okay people i found out, it should be 145ml/min

Sir I think creatinine clearance is more than glomerular filtration rate
Because creatinine is secreted into renal tubule
I also thought so.

Sir why urobilinogen is excreted in urine in case of haemolytic jaundice and why not in other two type ??
In hemolytic jaundice, due to increased RBC breakdown, there is increased level of unconjugated bilirubin in blood. This then gets converted into urobilinogen in the small intestine, which is then excreted through urine. Thus level of urinary urobilinogen rises in hemolytic jaundice.
But, in the other 2 there is no such increased bilirubin level & hence they don't show increased urinary urobilinogen levels.

Sir in clearance test the order will be of creatinine inulin and urea sir cause of extra secreation of creatine renal tubules of about 6 to 8%
DEAR SIR, HERE IS CREATNINE IS MINIMAL REABSORBED NITHER SECRATED (Creatinine is cleared by the kidneys with minimal tubular reabsorption.)
Can kidney function test can give idea about renal cell carcinoma??
USG, CT and biopsy will confirm the diagnosis
