I haven't seen these in a long time. My sister and I used to make these in the 70s all the time from a recipe in an old Betty Crocker cookbook. I think the recipe was called No-Bake Chocolate Oats. The only difference was that we put cocoa powder in the mix, instead of melted chocolate on top. It was always so yummy.
So ,,; peanut butter, heated on stove in Pan, with 1/2- cup Honey, and salted butter, 1 stick , take square pan, put parchment paper in, then spread Evenly, on bottom of pan, put in freezer for 15 min,( or refrigerator, I guess), then melt chocolate,( Dark chocolate ( I like),take out pan oatmeal, and spread melted chocolate all over put in freezer,8-10 min,and does cut in long bar like,or squares!! ( If before you cut, (And you like like a lot of chocolate, add Another layer, then back in freezer for 8-10 minutes,)so easy, and SOOO delicious 😋!!
My mom used to make what we called "peanut butter bars" which was a recipe very similar to this. The caveat was she melted peanut butter and chocolate chips over a double boiler on the stove, because we didn't have a microwave for a long time. A bit of peanut butter mixed in with the chocolate took it to a whole new level! It was delicious...I wish I had the recipe. Mom was an excellent baker. I wish I had her skills.
@Raymond Yes, I agree with you. So many times we would come home from school and mom would have special treats for us...brownies, these scrumtuous bars, chocolate chip cookies. She made our Easter 🧺 baskets like Rice Krispee Bars and homemade 🍓 strawberry pies with strawberries handpicked from the garden. Yes, our moms were so special! I definitely miss my mom so much for many reasons. My mom was a petite little fireball of fun who had a great impact. She was amazing!
@Raymond Yes, of course. Thanks, but my mom definitely has me beat when it comes to her baking skills. I enjoy it now and then, but she did it on the regular. Lol! Thank you!
I made these exactly like your's about a month ago. I'm going to make them again this weekend and I think I'll add up a little bit of shredded coconut and chopped walnuts...
We always just dropped it hard on the counter to break it up. Clusters were better than bars to us. But yeah, delicious recipe. My GMA taught us to cook bake, mend clothes, make soap, things like this. I'm 50 btw. Lol Great recipe it is.
When I heard a voice say “yummy”…I thought I had said it out loud for a second before I realized that it was on the video! I was definitely thinking it at the same exact moment! 😅 Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to make it!
Here in the south we use the same recipe but we mix the chocolate in with the oats mixture and drop chunks out on the paper and you have instant no bake cookies
My gramma also made rice crispy treats with peanut butter chunchy and butterscotch chips marshmallows melted also together. Topped with melted chocolate chips and refrigerate. You can do this with granola cereals also.Butter is optional. ❤❤❤
Since there's not a lot of sugar, and use dark chocolate, even diabetics, like myself, could have some now and then. 😊😋 I'm definitely saving this one too 👑🙏🏻💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯
Without honey i would use syrup or brown sugar. If you want to make them fancy, use a cupcake/ muffin paper case. Decorate or drizzle or pipe blue/pink icing or sprinkles for your next baby shower.😊
These are like no bake cookies. I make these quite often! Add some coco powder and scoop ‘‘em out with a cookie scoop and let ‘‘em sit for a bit. Super yummy 😋. Though I melt my peanut butter with sugar instead of honey, I’ll have to try the honey! Thanks.
We grew up in Detroit making Mrs Thibodeaux's famous 'Oh Henry Bars,' which are almost exactly the same thing except for light corn syrup instead of honey and baked for about 10 min for caramelization- and the PB was melted with the chocolate. Also super good childhood memories! We would cool them off on the porch in winter (except I did that once here, where I live in the country, and some mice found it as soon as it cooled. I learned my lesson to hurry up and bring it in!).
Tangobutton.....I know it wasn't funny at the time, but I'm sure you laugh at it now. One time soon after I got married, my hubby and I baked a cake. To cool it fast we put it out on our enclosed porch. Problem was we had 2 cats that we didn't notice they were out there. So of course they dug into the cake!!! I honestly did not know that cats would eat cake!!! That's how I found out they will!!🤣🤪🤣🥴🤣
Because of the butter, it doesn't stick to the spoon when spreading it out, I spray Pam on my spoon when I have to spread sticky treats. It looks good, I use a pizza cutter.
Hi, just found your channel. This recipe looks tasty 😋 I'm always looking for a quick no cooking dessert. Thanks these bars are on my list. I'm a new subscriber. You should have more than 995 subs!! You rock!! Thank you Manuella. I see many more subscribers in your future!!
Where are the pink pan and pink knife from, please!? I would love to make this with richard's creamy peanut butter, because there's no sugar in it. And then use lilys dark chocolate on top.
Id make something similar without chocolate but a drizzle of plain icing. My kids called them mummy's oaty slice and prefer then to store-bought muesli bars in their lunchbox.
This is the same way I make mind I don't heat my peanut butter it's already soft then I put it in toaster oven to brown little top and bottom. Sometimes I add the Chocolate chips mixed inside. I don't like sticky feeling I cook it But your look delicious also" 💖💖👍
Atta girl with the chocolate chips lol. This looks really good. How about we cut them and pretend we slaved baking them peanut butter chocolate cookies 🍪 😋 lol. Sounds like a winner to me lol
It's just my opinion (but to me it counts the most!) But your husband (or boyfriend) has got to be the luckiest man on earth. You got the looks (in abundance!) Not to mention the body shape also the talent!! Enough to keep any man happy. I'm jealous for sure!
Why add peanut butter and honey to a hot pan and then add butter? You can see where it had burned in the pan before the video cut. It seems like melting the butter and then adding the peanut butter and honey would prevent the burned bits.
Maybe your measurements were not accurate. Some brands of peanut butter are not the same recipe as other brands, maybe it's the difference between brands. Did you use real butter or substitute margarine? Not all recipes can substitute margarine for butter and get the same results. Just some ideas of what could be different. The heat of your pan when melting the peanut butter, butter and heating the honey, may have been cooler than what she had her stove set to. If you like the flavors, I'd try again and maybe cook slightly longer or hotter. Good luck
Please someone .can you half the butter ??.to cut some calories from this ..has plenty for sure.. ..every bit helps .i like cheat days but like to reduce if possible

Nice and homemade no weird ingredients
I made this for my coworkers for a luncheon and it was a big hit. It was devoured within minutes. Thanks for posting. I beg everyone here to try this.
I use Rice Krispys in place of oats. Soooooo good!!!
Thank you, she hadn't said if it was salted or unsalted butter. Now I know ! 😁
Don’t forget the cinnamon

Yes! We made this too, but with the chocolate mixed into the peanut butter! We scooped it onto parchment paper as cookies.
This is actually no bake cookies mixture. Very similar to an old family recipe.

Oh my goodness, this looks delicious! 😋😊 A cup of chopped roasted peanuts added to the chocolate would be delightful as well 😊
Use crunchy peanut butter maybe?
I make these as High Energy Balls with Cheerios, Peanut butter, Butter, Honey, and non fat dried Milk. Works great keeping my Sugar down.
We always just dropped it hard on the counter to break it up. Clusters were better than bars to us. But yeah, delicious recipe. My GMA taught us to cook bake, mend clothes, make soap, things like this. I'm 50 btw. Lol Great recipe it is.
Great point, you can use any cereal in place of oats. Except oats are heathier.
3:51 “y u m m y . .” (😂❤)
When I heard a voice say “yummy”…I thought I had said it out loud for a second before I realized that it was on the video! I was definitely thinking it at the same exact moment! 😅
Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to make it!
Before you cut, first hold your cutter under very hot tap water ... the hot blade will cut through more easily....
Looks delicious
Here in the south we use the same recipe but we mix the chocolate in with the oats mixture and drop chunks out on the paper and you have instant no bake cookies
Ditto

I make something similar. They’re called sweet Marie bars but it uses Rice Krispies instead of oats

I made this waaay back in the 70s. But because I'm so old I'd forgotten about it! LOL - thanks for reminding me! You did it perfectly my dear🤗❤️
Because of the butter, it doesn't stick to the spoon when spreading it out, I spray Pam on my spoon when I have to spread sticky treats. It looks good, I use a pizza cutter.
I’ve never made this, but it looks absolutely yummy! I’m going to get these ingredients together and make some!! 😃
Looks so good. Much healthier than your average candy bar.
❤This looks & sounds so delicious & easy!! I can't wait to make this! Thank you so much! I just subscribed!! 😊
I just made a similar recipe last month using rolled oats and a little vanilla in the peanut butter mixture. It’s delicious!

I am making them tomorrow. 💕
Where are the pink pan and pink knife from, please!?
I would love to make this with richard's creamy peanut butter, because there's no sugar in it. And then use lilys dark chocolate on top.
Yes!
❤🎉.My gramma did this also on stove. I would wanna add chunky peanut butter 1/4. And coconut and Dark Chocolate 🍫.
All amazing.
No bake oatmeal fudge. Can use no dairy milk instead of butter too. Delicious
That looks delicious new subscriber from UK ❤
Looks good 😋
Id make something similar without chocolate but a drizzle of plain icing. My kids called them mummy's oaty slice and prefer then to store-bought muesli bars in their lunchbox.
Looks yummy! I saved the video so I can make this with my grandson when he comes over.
I will probably have to freeze any leftovers.
There won't be leftovers, and its a great recipe to make with kids, but the peanut butter sauce in the pan can get very hot.😮
Yummy that looks really yummy going to try that sometime ❤
This is the same way I make mind I don't heat my peanut butter it's already soft then I put it in toaster oven to brown little top and bottom. Sometimes I add the Chocolate chips mixed inside. I don't like sticky feeling I cook it But your look delicious also" 💖💖👍
these look so good
Looks super yum. I LOVE peanut butter anything. . Is there any alternative to oats though??. Allergic.
Yum! ❤
Yummy 😋 ❤
Making that for my Grandson 🎉
If you take a shot every time you hear the phrase "go ahead," you'd have to take 13 shots
Yum
For an innocent, pleasant recipe video, this sure stirred up a lot of nasty comments. Sorry to see that. Thanks for your efforts, I will try this.
I KNOW...WHY ARE PEOPKE BECOMING SO HATEFUL FOR NO REASON? I BLAME TRUMPS HATEFUL ATTITUDE MAKING HATE ACCEPTABLE
Atta girl with the chocolate chips lol. This looks really good. How about we cut them and pretend we slaved baking them peanut butter chocolate cookies 🍪 😋 lol. Sounds like a winner to me lol
This is similar to the nobake cookies. May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
It really looks good. Which wax paper can I use? Thank you for sharing.😊
Good job… I think adding crushed pecans and almonds would be good.
I wonder if you can make it with the almond butter
Hey Manuella!🤓
That looks awesome, but you should reallt use some rubber soatulas or a bowlscraper to get everything out of the bowls
Reminds me of Preacher cookies. Seriously.
Thank u gonna try
Yumo!🤓
Can you use coconut flakes in or on the chocolate??
I'd use the coconut flakes and it turned out DELICIOUS 😋😋😋!!!!!
Are we ignoring the fact that she had the plastic container of peanut butter sitting on the heated up pan? It stuck a little 😅
It's just my opinion (but to me it counts the most!) But your husband (or boyfriend) has got to be the luckiest man on earth. You got the looks (in abundance!) Not to mention the body shape also the talent!! Enough to keep any man happy. I'm jealous for sure!
Wow, thank you!
@@Manuella_fun You have no idea.
Maybe a layer of coconut between the chocolate and peanut butter layers
Please can you post the recipe? It's hard for me to right thank you
yummy food
That looks really good. I'll try it tomorrow
Why add peanut butter and honey to a hot pan and then add butter? You can see where it had burned in the pan before the video cut. It seems like melting the butter and then adding the peanut butter and honey would prevent the burned bits.
I’ve made this with coco powder and chocolate chips or carob chips for a healthier option
Get yourself a flat rubber spatula for removing the mixtures from the bowls
Is there a name for this dessert
Where is the ingredients for recipe?
Maybe add a little vanilla.
Just mix in a bowl. Refrigerate in airtight container.
I hate when people say something is “infamous” like ….no.
My peanut butter/oat/honey portion didn't get very hard? I followed recipe...?
Maybe your measurements were not accurate. Some brands of peanut butter are not the same recipe as other brands, maybe it's the difference between brands. Did you use real butter or substitute margarine? Not all recipes can substitute margarine for butter and get the same results. Just some ideas of what could be different. @@rkng1 Thank you, I'll pay close attention next time, I can't remember now.
Looks de😊

Please someone .can you half the butter ??.to cut some calories from this ..has plenty for sure.. ..every bit helps .i like cheat days but like to reduce if possible
I don't add butter
I use jus a 1/4 of stick for flavor..
And no toppings at all ..
where is the typed recipe?
I will use crisp rice cereal. I can't have the oats.
9 inch pan?
