If I may be so bold… Being one’s own critic can be an abyss of unresolvable analysis. I’ve lived near the region my entire life, have a fascination with the serenity of the desert and enjoyed what you’ve shown here👌🏽
Thanks for the comment. I have many more photos using different cameras, but I thought just using the one camera would simplify the film. I love going back to the area and exploring for new photos. It’s a fascinating area.
@@onroadscameras I’ve got Rollie 6000 series 6x6 along with Minolta X-700 with og fixed focal length lenses and would like to feel inspired to use again one day. Your work reflects the beauty of film; a neutrality in color engineered by artisans in chemistry of Kodak and the like, a pallet of taste without exaggeration… you get the point. From my vantage point, computer involvement in process has gutted passion I had years ago. Again… perhaps one day.
@@kenmunozatmmrrailroad6853 there is no time like the present, get out there and use film again. I moved to a new country, had no TV, bought a scanner to scan my negs, fell in love with film again…but took me a while to remember how to shoot again, use a light meter etc…everything you take for granted with a digital camera. It took me a while to leave the digital cameras behind and just take film cameras on a holiday or road trip. So I say you need to give it a go…go out and shoot some film this weekend ;-)
This is an awesome video, and I'm excited to find someone who visits to go to the Salton Sea! Anyone who comes to visit me in LA, I always recommend Salton Sea as a day trip. Next time you're here, please reach out if you recall this comment, and let's go! I've been there taking photos on film and digital, shooting digital music videos, and just hanging out. No pressure. Seems like it would be a cool hangout, though.
I had to subscribe please don’t stop your content it’s excellent. I am a 5x4 photographer who is a huge fan I am based in Northern Spain by the way, just so you know how far reaching your content has become. Thank you for the inspirational content
@@I-SelfLordAndMaster thanks for the kind comment, I do have a couple more film in the pipeline, one almost completed. I am just getting into 5x4 but have published anything yet. Maybe I should do something with my 5x4.
Thank you for your comment, it’s still early days making these videos. Comments like yours help me to want to go out and make more content…so thank you.
Really enjoyed the video. Great photos. Music suited the mood really well. I'm still looking for the "one camera system suits all" kind of setup. Don't think I'll find it :-)
Thanks for the comments, I have a couple more videos planned, but it all takes time. As for camera set up, I can understand your dilemma. It all depends on what you like to shoot, people, street, nature etc. I would pick something and give it a go. As for the right system, yes it can depends on your budget, but you can start off small and get a little 35mm camera with a 35mm or 50mm lens to try it out, or maybe a little medium format 6x6 or 645 camera to see if you like shooting in this formats. Start with b/w as it can be more forgiving than colour and you can develop it yourself. Not every system will be right for you...but you have to start somewhere. You an always rent a camera for a weekend and try different cameras and lenses out until you find a format you like.
Thanks for the comment, I would have used Portra 160 and 400, Tri-x and maybe Ilford FP4 or HP5…the images with the darker blue skies would be Ekta 100. This is where I should have stuck to one or two films to have a consistent look and feel.
Great photos and video Peter! Glad to be a part of it! Thanks!
Thanks Joe.
Loved the video!, lots of interesting images, great music that complimented the video!.
