Really nice set up you have there! very interesting water system too! Severums are very cool to observe, they are peaceful and they (2) get along very well with my (5) Angels! You should try to keep both specimens together.
I have always wanted to keep severums. This is the best S tank I have seen. The blue acuras are a great color pop with your severums. Please keep posting on this tank!
RacingLizards Thanks for watching. It’s been a while but I’m back and have big plans for expanding the fish room. Okay, not huge plans, but I do plan to build a 6-8 tank rack and add quite a few new fish/shrimp. I miss the discus and might keep them again some day. It was time for a change and new direction.
Prajyoth S never got out of the hobby, but did scale back for a while. The discus had to go. They were burning me out with daily 50% water changes. Wouldn’t be an issue now since the new tank has an auto water change system hooked up. I miss them too, but always fun to change things up.
TM Aquatics that water change is crazy. I barely change water except for top offs from evaporation (open air tank}. I have a ton of plants and water parameters always perfect. I love the look of discus but have read how tough they are to keep
Wichita Falls Fishkeeper Good to know. IF (big if) I keep these, I would like to have more than a pair coexist. However, I’m leaning heavily towards Altums or going back to Discus again.
Believe me your tank is definitely big enough for two Severum pairs! They’re big size but not big personality. Probably biggest fish in my own tank right now and it never even does as much as look at the other fish the wrong way. Very peaceful! If you are successful in establishing two pairs and remove the other 2 Severum then you could definitely be successful with even adding altum angels to this tank with the Severums. Altum angels aren’t the cute little angels we see in pet stores. They are still peaceful in terms of treatment towards tankmates BUT they can definitely hold their own against bigger fish (that are not as civil as they are to say the least).. Ive seen them kept with everything from arrowana to leporinus to large aggressive cichlids. So I would not be worried about adding 2 or 3 in with these severums if you get rid of a couple. They’re listed max size is extremely exaggerated because most of those inches are obviously the beautiful fins and they are usually taller than they are long. That being said there is plenty of water column to go around in your 120 and id think you’d find they complement the verticality of your tank nicely while being accented by the colors of the Severum and acaras! Definitely strongly consider!
Goldfish Gaming you must not keep the cichlids I keep if you think severums have big personality... they’re no more aggressive than an angelfish or an acara or festivum. Very chill personalities even while breeding my pair rarely bothers other fish unless they get too sneaky near the eggs.
I know its an old video, hope you find the time to respond xD I have a few Severums and i'm wondering how well yours did with the wave maker you have. Whats the GPH on it? I'm asking because i plan to set up a 210g for my clown loaches and would love to mix my severums with them but i want to have decent flow in the tank and i'm not sure how well the severums would do xD. Thanks for any advice!
I have 2 severum and I just got the second one and it had white cyst on its fins an I thought it was ich. I treated the tank for it and the cyst seemed to burst and now he is being all moppy at the top of the tank. Am I doing something wrong?
Hard to diagnose without seeing pictures. Not sure what your maintenance schedule is, but often time, white cyst type abnormalities will clear up with good clean water. Good luck.
michael levesque This is somewhat subjective and difficult to answer because I don’t know what filtration you’re using, nor your goals with the tank. Also don’t know what size fish you plan to start with. Assuming adequate filtration and smaller juveniles, I’d start with 4-6 of each and adjust quantities as they grow. But that’s me. Also, don’t forget to toss in a nice pleco or two 😉👍
@@TMAquatics also my goal was really the most fish with the largest size with least aggression .. i know i'm dreaming but hey its the best part is picking out the livestock lol

Beautiful tank. Love the Severum and Acura combo.
Awesome tank set up and 🐟❗️
When I saw you uploading new videos I had to do a double take lol, I miss your discus tank but I’m glad you’re back!

Good video I've now watched 2 of your videos and I liked them so I subscribed.
Your Severums are beautiful!!!
Your fish and setup looks great. I keep several severums in the same tank. No issues yet.

Perfect find for what I was looking for several + blue acara . Could we add some convict cichlid to similar setup. What you say buddy?
Didn't realize you resurrected your channel. I'll have to go back and watch the videos I missed.
Very nice.
Pittsburgh FishGuy Thanks for watching.
I have 2 gold serevum I love these fish!!
That tank looks ace! Just cycling a 150 and looking for ideas, how did the severum and a aras work out, did you have to separate in the end?
Very nice!!!💛😁💛😁💛😁🐠💛🐟💛
Hello Tom, you mentioned some fish forums that you use, which ones do you use in MN?
Thanks for the video.
can angelfish go with all the fishes in this tank?
Did you ever have any problems with the severums when they got bigger trying to eat the cory cats or the pleco?
Love this setup, what temp did you run it at? From what I read the Dennison Barbs like it on the cool side.
I always kept this tank at 78-79.
Whoa dude is that real plant?
aesthetically beautiful aquarium...are severums natural fishes or cross breed like parraot fishes?
deepak sharma fish**

How many Severums would u put in a 75 community
I’d start with 4 and try and get a pair.
