@@3211SD I have no idea, but I doubt the difference will be noticeable. Both models are currently on sale at Costco, so I got the older 75" for $300 less.

Samsung keep swapping around the panel types between VA and IPS on different size tvs , the VA having higher contrast but they don't tell anyone which tv size has which panel type so when you read a review or talk to some one in the shop you dont know which tv they review , its annoying . i only want a 55 inch tv but for some reason this size tv is always a odd one out in any samsung or sony range .
I chatted with Samsung, and they claim that the Q70D has slightly better contrast than last year's model.
