Its possible that the trip computer was read by mistake, thats not uncommon when they are left to run into high numbers. I do always feel sceptical about 'car enthusiasts' with a youtube channel that dont see a cracked windscreen, or investigate a strange noise. Cant be that enthusiastic about cars if these issues went unnoticed or unattended to.
I had a 16 plate Golf gti mk7 and it had what I thought was wheel bearing noise at the back. It turned out to be the inner edge of the tyres wearing unevenly, known as sawtooth, that made the noise.

Any possibility that the owner had the car displaying KM's for the first two years? This happened with a car i owned and i had service receipts to prove it, i emailed VOSA with the evidence and they altered the MOT history for me.

Race car sequential boxes (the origin of these systems in domestic cars) are pull for up and push for down. When you are accelerating hard it’s easier to pull than push and vice-versa when you’re on the brakes downshifting

Driven a couple of auto beemers and always takes me a couple of roads before I start shifting the right way 🤦🏻♂️😂 as I said tho, it’s just me personally.

It’s marketing wank that manufactures use to make cars more appealing due to the prospect of less maintenance costs.

Hi calv Iv recently bought a car I used car vertical to do the checks and it says it has mileage issues from looking at the graph the seller said it’s a typo on the mot and has service paperwork ect to back it up. The mileage was so far wrong I decided to trust them and purchase it as there’s no way it could be so wrong after looking at the car. Seat have Allways serviced it how would I go about contacting NMR to clear the hpi
@JordzyBrev But that does not change the fact that VW sold him a vehicle with a mileage discrepancy. He still retains his consumer rights. Dealers cannot withhold information that may affect the buyers decision to buy. They should have either corrected the mileage before sale, or informed him of the mileage discrepancy. Your friend's case is different because that is to do with the warranty. Mods can and do affect the parts covered under warranty. Buy a car from a dealer, remap it, and engine goes pop 2 weeks later - they're well within their rights to tell you to F off.

Done through the national insurance database I’m pretty sure. If it’s done through your insurance then it’s flagged and they’ll also have the invoice for the repair bill from either their crash repair centre and it all gets marked down as to what was replaced. If say you repaired it yourself or something like that then it won’t show on that sort of site/app. Im fairly sure that’s how they work.
I wouldn’t touch that car with a barge-pole. He definitely lies to his insurance companies when he’s ticking the box - Has this car had any modifications! Don’t do this kids because as soon as you make any claim, the insurance company will look into it and you’ll have no insurance at all as it’ll be voided and you won’t get a penny.

They inspect the car when you arrive. Its quite easy with the naked eye to see if a cars had some paint work done.
