I love your playing, especially starting around 1:20.
Thank you! (You might be a bit biased though, eh? 😀)
Thanks for displaying the chord changes. Helps me focus. Great lesson as always
No problem!
Nice one Mark. Really helpful lesson
Thank you!
Another GREAT video lesson! Thanks Mark!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Great job, Mark. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Another great video Maestro. Man, your guitar vocabulary is awesome. You effortlessly hit on everything from Bluegrass to Hendrix in this short video. Next, you'll be showing us how to put barre chords in classical guitar. Keep this great content coming Sir.
Wow, thanks! Really appreciate the kind feedback. Rock on!
Great insight into expanding on G chord possibilities and soloing with the rhythm sections chords ... Gary Rossington was a great one for following a songs chords/melody with his solo's. BTW that's a really nice B&G guitar with a super warm tone.
Thanks Chris! Yes, I love this B&G. It has become my favorite to pick up.
G chord and pentatonic was my first guitar lesson....Ramblin Man had just come out a few months before 💕
Excellent timing!
Great acting @ 2:13 🤣 You deserve an Oscar !!! 🤣 LOL !!!!
As always - your videos are informative and very much appreciated !!!
Thanks Mark !!!! 😊

Thanks so much!
Mark, I always look forward to your videos, you keep things simple and explain them well. I’m glad to see you are amassing subs!
Glad you like them. Thanks so much!!
Thank you. Cool guitar!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching! (It's a B&G Little Sister ... great guitar!)
Fantastic Mark!Easy to understand🖐🖤🦋🖤
Thank you Kris!
Cool shirt, MZ!! Of the top two most typical keys to solo.......E & A.........I actually see G as the 3rd and find myself most interested in discovering new cool concepts in G. This quick lesson absolutely helps!! Thank you, bud!! Jim C.
You bet!
G, Mark! 👍
The open G barre chord is an awkward shape, as you say. As well as being easier, I’ve found myself moving more towards playing partial chords/triads as a way to identify the most interesting voicings.
Fantastic!
What a coincidence, I just started practicing these earlier today… I call them barre lite chords
Cool!
Mark, I tend to like the tone of G6 using the 3rd finger, 3rd fret E string and 2nd finger, 2nd fret A string. Has a good ringing sound, The Beatles would use this variation of the G6 on “She Loves You” at the end of the song. At least it sounds that way to me.
Cool!
Really like this and the guitar ,what make is it.please ?
I want that guitar. What is it!
B&G little sister?
Yes, it's a B&G Little Sister. I love the guitar. It plays like a dream too. Easily my favorite guitar since I got it a little over a year ago.
Mark, is the full extension of this lesson the CAGED system? The G shape for C, for example?
Great question. I *can* be, yes. CAGED often baffles people or they are hung up by not being able to play the chord shapes (especially the D-shape) up the neck. The concept of partial chords helps alleviate those fears. You only have to "see" the full chords, not play them.
I've actually worked out a system that's a good bit simpler in my view, so I'm hesitant to say CAGED *has to be* the end point.
Always enjoy your lessons. What brand of guitar are you using in the video?
Thanks! It's a B&G Little Sister. I love it!
I want to know more about that guitar?
It's a B&G Little Sister. Over the past year it has become my favorite guitar. A real luxury to play!
MR MARK happy Easter to you sir and hope everything is going well have a question and when I do I go to you on acoustic guitar the original version of the intro into Midnight Rider on acoustic guitar if you could sir but other than that may you have a great week and we appreciate everything you do brother
Thank you so much. I did a Midnight Rider lesson maybe 4 years ago. You might want to check that out. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/uHMx3-vuCGU/v-deo.html
Correction: 2017. My how time flies!
Noice!
No need to prove it. For playing a G-chord you don´t have to put fingers on the neck, the notes are already there, Keith Richards said. 😆
