Strait up facts. The Gunship looks terrible next to the real representation. However the AT-Te although down scaled retains the correct proportions. Which the gunship doesn’t. But I definitely prefer the bigger scaled sets.

@@pantelisdalezios811you don’t know how scale and dimensions work. if you have 2 cubes, and one is “2 times bigger”, it has 8 times the mass. if you made the UCS venator twice as big as it is now, it could be up to 8 times as expensive. and if you ask me, it’s expensive enough.
Am I the only one who actually enjoys the hybrid animation and live action artstyle LEGO has gone with for these prequel figures? With so many appearances in live action with these Disney Plus shows, I feel like it's a decent balance. It's sort of limiting to just base a figure on a specific movie or something when we only see the figure so often
Tottaly agree. Was looking for a comment like yours. I want all my lego with similar style. Not different animation types of clones in the same supposed to be uniformed army. Besides, the clone wars faces were not the peak of lego facial expression in my opinion
For a new playscale Venator, I'd maybe like to see it as an actual carrier. No interior for mini-figures, but the space is used for a hangar and you get some mini-scale fighters and gunships. Maybe even an AT-TE or two. It can even have some minifigs as a bonus. This way, the Venator largely retains its sleekness. For other prequel ships as updated playscale models with minifig interactions, I'd prefer a new Republic Frigate, a Republic Arquitens, or even an Acclamator ship.
I’m a bit confused as to why the new figures being more realistic is a problem when that makes them fit more with the majority of other figures and gives them a consistent style. Great comparison apart from that though.
Maybe I'm just stupid, but him acting like the venator came from the clone wars and not from revenge of the sith and then criticizing it for not being reminiscent of the clone wars was a bit confusing

Hopefully! Next year we're seemingly only getting more OT ships, but considering that with both the helmets and dioramas LEGO added prequel-era sets to the lineups in the third year I could definitely see LEGO making a midi-scale Venator in 2024.
Gonna say it: Massivley prefer regular style figures for clone wars sets over the more show accurat versions, mostly because it makes it easier to put my figures together and not have anything feel out of place.
That seam (or lack there of) on the UCS Venator is incredibly impressive. Despite what some may expect, Lego is not an exact science, so the designers being able to fit parts like that is insane.
Stickers on a UCS set will always be so funny to me. I don’t put stickers on my $10 sets. If there’s essential details only portrayed through terrible-looking stickers I simply won’t buy it. Isn’t it their job to figure that kinda stuff out?
Usually their prints are way less sharp than their stickers. The republic insignia probably would not have had very good quality control printed vs sticker, idk why they didn’t print the other ones
I know it’ll never happen but I wish there was a UCS providence or lucrehulk. They got the Venator so good and I wanna see the CIS capital ships too. Missed oppurtunity by Lego for never making them.

From a practical standpoint for me the original Ventor is better in my opinion but if I had the room money and time for the new one I would totally buy it but the new one is just too big
I wan to see someone turn the UCS set fully into a ROTS variant. I've seen the bridges swapped out, but I want to see the logos moved forward and the stripe completed (the panels should also slightly be raised for a sharper angle but that one can be omitted)
Back in 2009, I built the Venator and carried it to my friend's house across the alley. On my way back, I held it by the handle and spun in a circle for a long swoosh. The entire underside and interior became dislodged, hit the concrete, and exploded into hundreds of pieces in the alley. I got nervous just now watching Ryan give it the swoosh test
I think your mini figure criticism isn’t quite reasonable- when we see multiple slightly different visualizations of the same in universe thing, I think Lego is in the right for making them look the same. Lego having a consistent style for all Star Wars things is a huge plus in my eyes.
Can you make a video with new era of clones (produced since 2020)? It would be interesting to see them together and compare to the old versions. And it would be great to see new Rex, Cody and Fox together

I love the UCS version! For all of us fans of ROTS and Clone Wars, we have been waiting for this for a long time. When I can finally get one, I will be modifying it with internal space for minifigures, because I love modifying sets to fit personal preferences.
Will it all depends what you want. If you want to have epic clone wars battles with your tanks and figures, then obviously the playset is the best option, but if you just want an astounding ornament to look magnificent, it’s obviously the recent one:
There are so many people who claim a hangar wasn’t possible, which really isn’t true. I understand they need a way to support the front part, but they could have easily separated the two beams by just enough to add a micro scale hangar. It’s been done several times by people creating mocs of the venator, and more than half the time the scale is much, much larger than the UCS. Pretty disappointed as it would have made this a literal perfect set.

However, creating this function would allow for more display options, and the hangar doors at the front are the biggest feature of this specific ship. I also doubt it would have costed that much more, and I would pay the extra 50-100 if it meant some extra features. I am just in-love with this new UCS Venator, the playscale is by far one of my favorites I have, probably just because it is a venator. I do want to do the slim mod to it though. But those rear red stripes on the UCS is sooo crisp, and the rear engine molds are just.... yes🤤
I'l love to see Lego release an ISD II set for the 50th anniversary that has the same scale as the Venator, just so you can get a sense of what the REALLY big ships look like.

LEGO was too literal with the “acccuracy” back in the day, they’ve realized they don’t need to literally translate the animation style onto minifig designs because it looked ugly. The live action style fits modern day Clone Wars stuff better cuz it fits in with the rest of the collection, just like The Black Series

my biggest complaint about the new venator is something nobody is talking about. it should have come with a small republic frigate to fit on the underside docking bay. just like the isd got the tantive
there could have been an interior if there where two parellel supporting structures that went through the body, where you could have interior space in between them.

This is partly true, while it is pretty bad, for the time it was a good set…i see the 2009 one as a stepping stone for what we have seen since then
I worked so hard to build it and it just gave out on me once it was built. I didn't even get to play with it

I really think the micro-scale gunship in the port bay looks more like a newer Jedi shuttle, not the t-6 but the other dome-front one.
Those UCS LEGO Star Wars sets are way too expensive. But for me, I stick with those scaled-down versions of those UCS sets which are way cheaper.
