I love BookTube. Would have found out about barely any of those books if it wasn't for this video! I'm new to making BookTube videos and definitely the best way to get inspiration is watching well made wrap ups like this. Awesome job! X
I got into more middle grade books thank to you, your recommendations are always top notch, and I like a lot that you read such a range variety of books. You are no joke one of the best booktubers out there.
I love the Iron Trial so much!!! It's such a quick read and I absolutely flew through it. It's amazing!!! Absolutely a throwback to my Harry Potter days, but so so different!!!
Caraval was really whimsical but I wasn't blown away. I couldn't help but to compare it to The Night Circus, but not as good. I can't wait to hear what you have to say, because your reviews often match up with my thoughts for books! Eternally grateful for your introduction to The Raven Boys!
omg thank God finally a booktuber talking about the fablehaven serie !! Those books are probably one of the reasons why I love reading so much now !! I remember reading it when I was a child and it was absolutely amazing. hope you'll still like it when you'll read the next books
This is the first book haul where I didn't add anything to my wish list (to be fair I already had half of these book on it) but either way I'm impressed with myself
I love the Alcatraz books! The humor is on point (if you like Brandon's humor), they are filled with action and complex loveble characters. They just give me all the warm and fuzzy feelings
Oh Regan, I went to the bookstore but it felt like a gym workout because.... I saw a book in hardcover for Cheap. It was one of Brent Weeks books that is huge but I heard you talk a ton about it so I grabbed it, only to realize it is the 3rd book in the series so of course, I had to get the first book, which ended up being a signed copy. Wow, it was screaming at me. SoI have the first and third and both with great meaning. Can't wait to read them.
May I recommend The Reader by Traci Chee? It's about a girl whose life is spent on the run. Her father is brutally murdered and she only has her aunt left to trust. And then the aunt was kidnapped and she discovers an object left behind by her father: a book. The book is her guide to find her aunt and unravel other mysteries. Regan you got to check that one out, it looks really really good, and it's the first book in a series. I'm reading it for May but I would like to see your intake as well.
Yaaassss! REIGN OF SHADOWS IS EVERYTHING!!! It is SO SO GOOD! The sequel Rise of Fire is just as delicious! This is my favorite duology for 2016/2017. I talk about it quite often on my bookstagram. I love Luna and Fowler oh so much! I haven't fallen in love with a set of books as quickly as I did with Reign of Shadows and Rise of Fire. You will enjoy it!
Fablehaven is awesome! But I love everything Brandon Mull writes. Also, my auntie bought me all of the Alcatraz vs. The Evil Librarians series for Christmas. Love them too. Maybe I just really like fantasy written by guys named Brandon.
i read strange the dreamer this month too and it probably one of the best fantasy books I've ever read. I just want to read it again and again and just devour it for eternity ahhhhh ITS JUST SOOOO GOOOD
I'm obsessed with the howl's moving castle movie, and eventho I know the book is really different I'm reading it atm anyway because I love the whole vibe of the tale, gosh it's so GOOD and I didnt know more people knew of it I'm so glad haha
If you're after a good middle grade adventure story, I'm currently reading Podkin One-Ear by Kieran Larwood. So far it's really good and it's giving me so many Name of the Wind vibes, which is why I picked it up
I've recently read Caraval and I loved loved loved it! I understand the comparisons to The Night Circus (which is one of my fave books of all time) but I was happy to ignore that when I read it and I think that's why I enjoyed more than I know others have. Definitely worth a read :)
Reign of Shadows has such a beautiful cover! I've been interested in reading it so I look forward to hearing what you think of it whenever you get the chance to read it! :)
I just bought Caraval and had the same thoughts as to why I needed itXD I love your bookhauls and videos in general. I always find great fantasy books from ya!
I love watching your book hauls! The problem is that I feel the need to buy more books after that. I don't think there is a single book haul blog post I've written in the last few months where there wasn't at least one book I bought because of your videos. You are sooo bad for my tbr!
They all look amazing! i was able to pick up Beyonders by Brandon Mull at the dollar tree. I grabbed it bc you talked about it in one of your last videos
You should read The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series by Michelle Paver! Its a middle grade series set in a fantasy-ish hunter-gatherer/clan type setting. The books are reeeally good, dark and adventurous with a fantastic setting and great characters. I think you would really enjoy them!
I really liked Caraval, but I found the beginning was slower and I wasn't really very invested. But it does pick up and I ended up loving it! Also, I never read night circus so I can't compare the two.
Hey Regan, I recently got a copy of _The Book Thief_ I thought I should let you know. I want to get to it this summer. I'm not ready for all the emotions I'm expecting to feel when I read it.
Hey Regan love love love your vlogs & recommendations 💗 Just an idea perhaps you can do a book/song tag like The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah/Terrible Things by Mayday Parade
ooooo i've also read reign of shadows and I loved it but i have to warn you, its super cheesy and i loved it anyways even though its very predictable and kind of obvious. it totally depends on what you like
Oh there are trials alright in The Iron Trial... boring ass trials lol hope you end up liking it though haha I read all 6 Timmy Failure books this month! they were such fun! :D
have you ever read "Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes" by Jonathan Auxier? it's wonderful! he's become one of my favorite middle grade authors. i just finished the companion novel "Sophie Quire and the Last Story guard" and i really enjoyed it! you should check them out . :)

Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarian is absolutely ridiculous but so freaking funny! The perfect book for when you're stressed!!
I love the Alcatraz books! The humor is on point (if you like Brandon's humor), they are filled with action and complex loveble characters. They just give me all the warm and fuzzy feelings
I really loved The Iron Trial and the series gets darker as it goes on.
I have Strange the Dreamer and I'm gonna read it but IM IN SUCH A BOOK HANGOVER AFTER ILLUMINAE. It was so so good ahh.
Caraval was...disappointing. But I'd love to see what you think.
IKR...Caraval wasn't nearly as good as I'd heard. Was it just me or was the whole secret mystery treasure hunt gig a bit of a flop?
_voidxhunter _ Same thing happened to me after Illuminae! Sent me into a MAJOR book slump - all I wanted to read was fast paced books after it haha
_voidxhunter _ wasn't it!???? Never finished Caraval!! And i almost cried when i got it.
_voidxhunter _ I really enjoyed Caraval though :)

The cover for Reign of Shadows is gorgeous
Reign of Shadows is such an angsty YA fantasy but it's so good and so addicting

The little "about the author" blurb in the Alcatraz books by Sanderson is hilarious. If you haven't read that bit take a minute to do so!

Have you read the sequels to howl's moving castle? If you didn't then you really really should! Seeing howl and Sophie again was everything I needed
Apparently, you don't have to read Vengeance Road in order to read Retribution Rails; they're companion novels, according to the author.
For the first time I've read one book you didn 't. So excited for the review:)
I keep almost buying Caraval so I'll be interested to hear what you think.
Vengeance road is so good! I just read it. Also I am jealous that you got Retribution Rails. ;)
I LOVE Reign of Shadows it's really good!!!
I'm reading Exit West right now. It's just so beautiful and so real it's almost painful.
If u like the whole 'trials/test' thing, I'm reading Court of Fives by Kate Elliott. I'm about 1/3 of the way through & I'm obsessed!
I LOOOOOOVVE Fablehaven 😍😍 I'm on book 4 of Five Kingdoms and it's really good 😊

Also, I never read night circus so I can't compare the two.
Hey Regan! Could you go more into depth in the books you read? Like age recommendations and content that is in there? Thanks!
I'm interested to see your view of Reign of Shadows, personally I found a lot of problems with it but I want to know if that is just me.

Vengeance Road was one of my favorite reads of last year. Jealous you've got an ARC

Just a correction there, the author's name of Exit West is Moh-sin Ha-mid, not Moshin
Retribution Rails is not a sequel its a stand alone from the 1st book.
