So, so glad you made this video. This is what got me heavy into the Goth scene when I was in my early 20s. (Baby bat at 15 and part of the subculture simce then. Currently 34 now) From there I eventually began exploring all forms of dark music from tradGoth and dark wave to cold wave and others. Either way we are all one community with darkly inclined interests and come together as one. I will be checking out the website as I truly love your look. You did an amazing job and I can't wait for more on this series. 👍👻💀🌙💜
As I remember it, there were a bunch of us that had grown up in goth music, goth subculture etc who frankly got a bit bored of traditional goth music. We started going to raves & dropping Es, and evolved some new fashions. I remember Kaytea Miyagi being particularly innovative with hair extensions, all kinds of plastic dreds, video tape, tubing, you name it. Others stuck with woollen dreds. She went on to open a hair place in Harajuku, Japan, with her husband Kazu.
I appreciate your effort making this video and you talking about who and what a cybergoth is. However, you've missed a lot of details about the cyber origins as an activist for the environment protection and the visual discourse against the nuclear threat along with the destruction of our planet, what about the cyber punks back in the 90s? activism performed hacking big environment killer companies inspired and related to science fiction and the literature about it back in the 70s , also what do the symbolism cybergoths often use mean and what does stand for. there was an entire philosophy behind the outfit and music back in the 90s and early 2000s, but of course sadly nobody who knows this cares about those things anymore and now cybergoth has become only a cool outfit and kids making dancing and makeup tutorial videos.
Last Night Was My 1st Time Finding Out About Cyber Goth ,I’ve Been Goth For 2 Years,I Think It’s Really Cool Finding Out About All The Different Types Of Goth
It was Industrial dance that brought me here. Out of a shadow, and into a world of energy and movement. Can't get enough really lol. Too bad in the U.S. it ain't mainstream over here
i am more educated on the visigoths so this was interesting to know what is up with today goths. to me its all about how you wanna express yourself ^_^
Great video thanks! :) I've always loved cyber goth and recently I have been getting more into it!. I have shaved my eyebrows off for the first time the other day and I LOVE it!! Im able to create different looks!❤ I've always loved electronic music too but pass few years I've been listening to it more! I am excited for this journey and to explore all it has to offer!
Yeah that's a really good shop! Unfortunately not such a good option for me since I'm canadian and the conversion rate is high. The stuff they sent you looks really good on you! The warmer color combos look the best in cyber in my opinion. I made two sets of falls, one purple and one black, but I only went in a full cyber outfit to an event once. I only went to support a friend's event, but I figured it was not really my thing and I didn't like dressing that way.
Interesting. The TV show X-Files used the name Cybergoth in episode Killswitch. This was before the popularity in nightlife styles like you express here. But yes, futuristic punks (cyberpunk) have been around for some time as well futuristic goth, dystopic goth in the 80's 90's. Today term is borrowed, or reinevent to identify the style, and that's fine due to many influences like any other designs.
Im confused people tell me you can only wear cyberfalls and cyber outfits to like goth festivals stuff like that so my question that is really concerning is can you wear cybergoth everywhere like going to a store or on a trip somewhere like that and wear them just like everyday goth or Is it different 🤔
I'm obsessed with the music and style of cybergoth and I am currently a mixture of subcultures. I actually am going to buy some cyberlox, goggles and a respirator. Is it frowned upon to wear all the rave style outfits in every day life? I'm in college and have no dress code ...
great video on this subculture, however I'm really surprised that you did not mention Gary Numan as he is the godfather of all this techno music you were playing.
Could I still be a cyber goth if I don’t listen to the music, I know in the goth community music is a big thing but I can’t get into the cyber goth music
The word "cyber goth" originated on the alt.gothic Usenet group (as did many of the "Goth types"), and was a tongue-in-cheek term for a "Corp Goth" (a goth who worked an office job) who worked in the tech industry. www.odk.com/wilson/goth/150.html
I've mostly seen myself getting inspired by the cyber goth side of goth rather than the other sides I like all of them but not like how I like cyber goth but I can never find anything about the subculture is it that hidden or should I look for more research about ravers?
It depends what you are into music whise, Gothic electronic music parties have cyber goths among the crowd, raves might also, it all depends on the music you like dancing to
I still dont understand why people call that cyber GOTH? Dont get me wrong i like the music and fashion but aggrotech comes from the industrial scene and sounds like a harsher version of the music played in normal electro nightclubs tbh
Amy Nekrotique explains it well: Cybergoths were originally goths who started to listen industrial music in electronic and rock version. So they were technically just goths who loved cyberpunk (industrial was a huge part of cyberpunk then) and aesthetic. Later when ravers came to goth clubs (gravers) they added rave elements and music evolved into more club sound. That's why futurepop and often aggrotech are very popular genres rather than old industrial of 90's: EBM and especially electro-industrial with its dark electro style (it was connected with rivethead scene then). Plus industrial rock. So cybergoths are rivethead equivalent of today's industrial music in Europe mainly (we haven't something like rivetheads, because goth/industrial scenes were so close it had merged very early.) Instead we had 90s electro movement (overlapped with EBM and darkwave communities and some trance ravers too) which is probably the mother of cybergoth. It was not perceived as industrial but as something more parallel to gothic movement descended from new wave. But this was very German specific thing (today often mixed with EBM crowd. Not Cyber at all). Got revival lately in very limited state, 80% in Germany.
@@Orphea333 Goth is not darkly inclined values. That isn't really specific to goth, as there are other subcultures that are also have darkly inclined values, such as metalhead and rivethead. Goth is a genre of music stemming from post punk. Yes, some goth music uses synth, but the gothic guitar and bass sound is always present.
oh man! I was always drawn to cyber goth styles and electronica ever since I was in middle
I miss the Cybergoths. I never see them around anymore. 😔

Absolutely amazing channel. Awesome videos!
Orphea is a gothic Queen, an absolutely amazing beautiful Goddess.
I hear a lot of like SKINNY PUPPY influence in the cybergoth music which is dope. I never really looked into this side of the subculture. Cool video!
That's about where the goth influence begins and ends from my observation of cybergoth. Call me a gatekeeper

Such a fascinating progression of the hippie subculture, I like it.

First video I’ve watched but I’m in love!!! I’m so glad cybergoth is still alive ❤️❤️

I feel like cybergoths can also blend in with the Hardstyle scene.
I think a lot of them actually do crossover between the two ^^ I love the hardstyle dancing btw!
I have purchased from them before!! Really good shop!!

I'm from Belgium, the fishnet is from Attitude Holland, the top is old Lip Service (not available anymore) I know Attitude Holland ships worldwide!
Hi! I had i quick question, with the music did you day EDM or EBM because I couldn’t tell 😅 also thank you for the video it was very educational 😁

Nice! Volgende infekted dragen ^^
Where did you get your septum ring from? I love it so much i’ve been trying to find one like it forever! 🖤❤️
It's from Crazy Factory, but I'm unable to find it anymore on the website...
Dont forget the prodigy as one of the bands
Orphea, what drew you to this genre of lifestyle and culture in particular?

you can incorporate elements little by little and see how you feel and progress over time ^^
Is the cybergoth community still alive? I'm finding it rather difficult to get in touch with any communities.
yes, it is, but not as out there as it used to be, its especially still visibly alive in Germant and the UK

You are so beautiful in cybergoth !!!
thank you! ^^
Does anyone know any cyber goth bands/music ( or whatever you call them😂) that still play? My sister is trying to get into it.
I saw Combichrist two years ago and they are on tour in my area (San Diego) in October of this year 2021. Hope that helps!
Aesthetic Perfection, Faderhead, Combichrist, Massive Ego to a degree are some bands I listen to that are active - try them out!
Where can I get cyber goth essentials
On the cyberloxshop website, they have the cyberlox but also headbands, goggles,...
Is dark synth also included? New to this style so forgive my ignorance
could be! as long as it has a danceable beat ^^

I think that subculture is heavy club based or they use some other media to communicate that normal Internet.
I've got a question, the cyberlox that you're wearing are shoulder length?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think they are chest length

black everyday for me, regardless ^^ no need for color if you don't feel like it ^^
