I am a noob to the hobby. I didn't know any better and I planted all of my live plants in regular ole gravel. I have had the tank up for 5 months now. I have bacopa caroliniana, cardinalas plants, water sprite, baby tears, and the list goes on, and yes I have amazon swords. I do not use C02. I use root tabs and liquid ferts. All of my plants are beautiful! I mean gorgeous. No brown on them and people love the tank. I just wanted to let you know because you can indeed grow amazon swords in gravel lol. I did my mistake

I did my first dirted tank a few months ago. Before that my amazon sword was small, it never really grew much. It shed it's emersed leaves and grew back but It was maybe growing 1 new leaf a month and that's with just gravel, flourite and root tabs. Now, a few months later in dirt, my sword is HUGE! It has about 14 leaves now and they're about 10 inches tall. Dirt your tanks, people! I don't have any runners yet but I'm betting it will soon.

You can try by breaking off leaves once they get too big for your tank. But yes, Amazon swords naturally do grow very big and can definitely outgrow the tank size you mentioned. I use osmocote diy root tabs near the plants, inject co2 but steadily but not heavily, and dose liquid fertilizer once a week after a 30 percent water change. My amazon sword is doing great along with all the other plants that are in my 55 gallon aquarium. My question is I have another type of sword plant that I cannot identify? It looks very similar to the amazon but its leaves are very dark. Like a almost coco look to them. Its very healthy and the co2 injection actually made the leaves darken when I started using it in the tank. It has become my favorite plant but I cannot find its name. I bought it from a local fish store but even they cannot help me. Any idea what it could be?

I love the Amazon Sword! The Plantlets are produced in small groups on a thick Stem Runner. Plantlets can be separated and grown as new plants. With that being said, what are the smallest Amazon Swords Species That you have? Is the Purple Knight considered an Amazon Sword Plant? Do people also call it the Echinodorus Aflame Purple Knight Red Amazon Sword Plant? Do you have any of these plants for sale? I would love to display these beautiful plants in my tank soon. I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row, if you know what I mean. I could be wrong but the only Freshwater Blue Plant That I know of is the Eichhornia Azurea. I’ve seen a few people grow this plant out, but it never turns a Blue Leaf out. It remains a Green Leaf Plant. Is there some kind of missing fertilizer needed? Are the water parameters off? In nature it turns Blue. Do you know its full grown size? How much space is needed to grow this plant out? Little is written out there on this plant. Any information is appreciated. I always enjoy your videos. Get well soon! Thank you for sharing this vid! So, is Winter coming? Where is your Hand of the King pin? Ha! Ha! Ha! Like that Tee Shirt!
