It is annoying but at the same time i remember myself playing Risk on the phone during my lunch break and being booted out 3 or 4 times, desperately trying to get back into game. Seems to me like pink had the same issue.
It's possible, but still kind of suspect. I've only started playing online a few weeks ago (after discovering Slin, and subsequently Pete, and being encouraged from watching many hours of their content), but I have over 1,000 games on this game, a few hundred hours/games on another risk game on steam and countless hours on ps2 on single player and I can tell you the rules of engagement for AI are massively different than human players. For example, I was playing Seaport Sigma (with blizzards) map yesterday. I had no continents a small 20 something army, and just a handful of territories. Black had three continents and a 60 troop lead. Orange had four continents and a 140 troop lead (and almost as many troops per turn as I had on the board at the time). In a human game I have no chance of survival, but the AI, even on expert level, are largely statistical and not tactical. They will rarely take more than 6-8 territories at most each turn even if they have a clear kill. Being completely unable to breach Orange I was still able to take enough Black territories each turn to take a continent and waited for Orange, as almost invariably happens, to leave a breach point and started whittling down their territory. Eventually I was able to make a comeback and win. Knowing that if I can maintain enough territories/continents to be able to take more than the 6-8 the AI will take (even at a 30 territory, four continent to zero, and 160 troop deficit) I know I can generally focus mostly on human players. People who know this will sometimes "bot out", let the AI grow nice and fat while human players focus primarily on each other then return to clean up when your opponents are too weak to stop them. At the time Pink came back, Red and Black were still collectively strong enough and in a position to stop Pink if they worked together. And then later to find Black dead and Red with the tactical advantage. Given the timing of the disconnect/reconnects it looks more like an attempt at cheating than actual connection issues, but it's hard to be certain. I'd probably give someone who goes offline a turn or two in case it's a legitimate connection issue because I don't mind losing if I'm actually outplayed, but after that I'd likely whittled down or eliminate their empire to avoid potential cheaters.
@@MRSLIN No, this happen because you see disconnected players as not a danger anymore, when i face a player like pink, i always try to break their continent, You wait till he had two continents and even more troops then yourself. This was your mistake. Black was as good as gone, you didnt had to fully focus on him. I love your videos but this one, sorry, this is fully your mistake
did you really waste the time of mods with reporting someone that reconnect one time?? Cmon man, this happen to me also sometimes. If we ever play against each other will you report me also for cheating?
