I agree! Having witnessed the training of the elite runners for over three week I came to the same list.

+Boudewijn de Kemp did you see nothing to do with discipline?

I don't like people who single out genetics as the sole factor for their success. Agreed, they have the perfect anatomies to make them great and efficient at distance running, but let's not forget the hard work they put in.

they didn't single it out. they listed seven reasons and that was one of them.

It's a factor... this two boys stayed and trained and dined in order to curve their anatomy to run ....

These two have the courage so many of us admire but are too timid to make the leap.

I thought running and walking a lot at a young age (to school) was an important factor, or is that just a myth? Also, what about good running form due to barefoot running as a child?

Neither of us is going to be able to change your mind I accept this. Take action, be willing to fight to your last dying breath for what you believe in, and have the discipline for decades to come if this really matters and you really want to change the world. One man can catalyze and invigorate it but it takes guts, determination, perseverance, and absolute certainty what you're doing is best. If you falter in any of those respects then... well... then...
get out of this thread Christopher Russell, reevaluate your life and calmly eat a bullet with your grey matter.

yea, the genetics don`t play that big of a deal, like if you are lean, tall, long legs, you are pretty much set.

Filip Švácha You can have the perfect running body and suck because you don’t train hard or as hard as elite runners.

I'd say stupidity is also majority genetics too when you're competing inbred.

Can't swim, play darts, snooker, ski or take part in so many other sports, so they have to be good at something don't they.

most African countries are landlocked making that recreation very expensive. Same goes for all of the other recreational activities. Most of their money is going to service industries like education and government as globalization has made mining and manufacturing jobs more difficult to come by in Africa. So that they haven't allocated resources for trivium makes more sense then the obvious fact that you were raised by lobotomized goldfish. Which you validate to a degree unsurpassed by all anti-scholars.
