    Very thorough review!
    Unfortunately the price difference is not so slight in Europe and probably anywhere else outside the US, as is mentioned in the video. The Ninja, which comes with several different attachments...two different sized shake/smoothie jars, the large one shown in this video, a food processing-type container, along with a kneading and two flat grating blades. The price is €179. The cheapest Blendtec model is €450(the designer model used in the vid is €650), and the Twister Jar is an extra €135. Take away all the extra attachments and the Ninja would probably sell for about €50-€75. Those extra blades in the large jar are redundant and useless.
    I'm not debating that blenders like Blendtec and Vitamix are (waaay)better, and I don't own a Ninja, but I think that they're just in different leagues. The Ninja is a cheap multi-function device for people that can't afford high-end devices and want to do some moderate blending/processing, and is probably equal/better than it's actual competition, ie department store brand blenders like Braun, Philips, KitchenAid, Bosch...all of which will have their motors burning out within 3yrs of daily use. For me that's a big no...because aside from it being more expensive in the long run, technology waste is pretty horrible. The Ninja advertising tactics are also cringe-worthy.
    Sidenote: have you tried the Thermomix?

    1 hour ago I was browsing for a cheap immersion blender, because I assumed: "Duh, buying a blender is not rocket science!". Right now, I'm here, with Henry, the Blender Guru. Thank you Henry for explaining to me all stuff about blenders.
    I'm engineer, and metal sprocket will sell it for me. On the other hand I'll throw Ninja and their trashy plastic to the blender graveyard where it belongs.

    Henry, thanks for all of your informative videos on blending, they're hands down the best reviews I've seen (well, you and Lenny Gale). I want to start making smoothies, but the vitamix 64oz capacity is too big for my needs. All I want to do is to make smoothies for myself in the morning (and sometimes at night too). So Henry, what personal sized blender would you recommend me to look into.

    I have to give you a big thank you for these videos and stressing family friendliness. I almost purchased this ninja last week in target because my nutribullet died after repeated use from family. My 10yr makes a smoothie everyday after school, so safety is a big concern for me. You are so correct. I just threw my ninja away today. It had all those problems and more. The blade turn dull after a couple of months and the first time they replaced it then it happened again they replaced it but I had to pay shipping and handling and it was a hassle to talk to them. Then it happened the third time and they made me pay for it. This is all less then a year. In a matter of a year I replaced it 4 times.ive paid for so many new parts I could have bought a blendtec with the money I spent. I had a blendtec overseas and coulsnt bring it home but I finally got the money and bought mine this week and I recieved it today. I miss having one so much. Cant wait to play with it tomrorow. The ninja is junk. It's great for the first few weeks but that's it. I'm so glad I have a blendtec again. Nothing beats it. I've had them all.

    I saw a video on another channel where they tested a bunch of blenders, including the Ninja, and the no-load rpm was tested on each machine. The Ninja actually runs very slow, at only 5000 rpm, when using the stacked blades. The 24000 rpm that they advertise is only for the single serve container which uses different blades. That's why the outer ring of the drive socket spins slower than the inner ring. While the Blendtec wasn't tested in that video, they claim that the motor spins at up to 28000 rpm. No matter how sharp the Ninja blades are, or how many they add to the container, nothing is going to make up for the lack of blade speed.

    That red Blendtec appears to be an entry-level model, which is priced just slightly more than the Ninja. If one Ninja burns out, when you spend your dollars on the second Ninja, you end up spending more on blenders than you would have if you bought the Blendtec in the first place. Them folks at Euro Pro are pretty smart with their advertising!

    My mom has a ninja blender and they work good, but I hate how disposable they are because it's hard finding parts for repairs and everything is soldered instead of connectors. I just bought a white total blender es3 from 2012 for 18 dollars with a bad jar blade bearing and I opened it and found that all components are not soldered together so it's more repair friendly.

    The fact that the Ninja is promoted on an Infomercial says all I need to know. I have owned a blendtec for years. I had a vitamix prior to the blendtec and the blendtec blew it out of the water. Who wants to use a plunger to push material down into the blade? The blendtec is the best blender on the market

    • @dkh1020

    Ninja is good at slicing, blendtec is good at pulverizing. I think if ninja went one side sharp and one side blunt, it would be better blender and a good compromise. What do you think? Great video btw! 👍

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  4 роки тому

      To be honest it's not just the blades on the Ninja. It's poorly built and it's had a lot of complaints of problems over the years. It's meant to be a cheap blender sold at Walmart. Blendtec and Vitamix are used exclusively at smoothie shops and restaurants. Chefs and smoothie shops would never use a Ninja blender as they cannot rely on them.

    • @realthefox8914
      @realthefox8914 4 роки тому

      Very true, Ninja is not reliable. And now that I think about it, a blade redesign wouldn’t help that much. It’d still be the same unreliable blender, just with a different blade. Ninja needs to realize that power doesn’t mean crap if the rest of it is poorly designed garbage.

      Hi spleengrrrl! I generally do showdowns on products that make over-the-top claims in informercials against "giants" in the commercial food industry. Case in point Ninja vs. Vitamix. I've covered Nutribullet when they made claims in their ads against Vitamix. I did this video because Blendtec is also a giant in the smoothie bar world and Ninja claims to be equally as good as machines like Vitamix and Blendtec for 1/3 of the price.

    Hello Blending With Henry
    I'm need your advice.
    I currently own a Ninja mega kitchen system (RRP £130), it's... Ok, but I want to replace with a decent blender that can... You know, actually blend properly, it doesn't touch any berry seeds and leaves soups feeling gritty.
    I live in the UK and I'm currently trying to decide between:
    Blendtec total blender RRP £350
    Including both fourside & wildside pitchers.
    Or
    Vitamix 750 RRP £650.
    I get that the vitamix is a better blender, but is it really £300 better?
    I use my blender at least 3-5 times a day along with my kenwood (chef titanium kmc010) to prepare all my meals and drinks.
    I mainly use my blender for smoothies and soups but I also use it regularly to make smooth broths, pasta sauces and thick puree's.
    I'm having a hard time trying to justify the extra £300 for the vitamix especially as I'll have to spend another £115 for the dry container to grind flour (what the Ninja suck as by the way).
    I'm really struggling to make a decision.
    Any and all input would be massively appropriated.
    Thank you.

      Luke Norman Hi Luke! Thanks for reaching out to me. Both Vitamix and Blendtec will perform about the same as both are used in commercial establishments. The thing is you're comparing the top of the line Vitamix to the lower-end Blendtec. All Vitamix machines at any price perform the same. You can get a Vitamix starting at £400. To compare the Vitamix 750 you would have to compare it to the Blendtec Designer Series 725 which retails for $649 USD. Not sure if that's available in your country. In terms of black berry seeds or dried fruit stems the Vitamix will turn out a bit smoother because it uses a "cutting" blade and Blendtec uses a blunt (dull) blade that beats against the fruit rather than "cut". Both machines have strengths depending on what you're blending.

      Blending With Henry
      Thank you for the input.
      I only compared those to models as most blendtec and vitamix models aren't for sell over here.
      I would like a designer 725 but the only way I could get it would be to import it but then the 20% import tax plus shipping make it's extremely expensive.
      And the lower end vitamix like the 5200 are still £599.
      There's only a small difference between then and the cheapest model is still £100 more than the blendtec total blender bundle I found.

    I have a ninja. After becoming vegan I find smoothies for one are a necessity and unless you like eating chunky smoothies, don't buy a ninja. Its not great. I am glad I came across this video though. It looks like the Blendtec is so much better. Must get myself one.

      Marie Goule same problem. Without a blender a vegan can possibly die lolz I'm still not sure of the blendtec blender. I know for a fact that I won't purchase a ninja. but I'm still on the hunt for the best blender. smh.

    Tell us how you really Feel.
    I was ROTHFLMAO when you showed the football player with the Blendtec at home and the paid Ninja endorsement .
    I guess Ninja didn't know that Blendtec provides the NFL with Blender bars for making smoothies.
    I noticed that you used the Designer series just like it was a Vitamix. Don't you like the presets on the Blendtec?
    I agree with you that with the Blendtec Classic at such a low price , there is no excuse for buying a piece of junk. You may want to tell people that the Classic really isn't that much more than the Ninja.
    Like you having used the Blendtec and Vitamix. There is not a lot of difference. In fact there is Blendtec and Vitamix tied for the top spot and everybody else a very distant 5th

      Ronald J Since both Blendtec and the Nutri Ninja use presets I initially was going to use only the presets to demonstrate. But to keep everything fair I used only the manual high setting (except for one test that required a specific setting on the Ninja) on all machines to reveal the true performance. Thank you so much for watching Ron!

    OMG i think i just made the most horrible mistake by purchasing the nutri ninja. I wish i had investigated more about the ninja before purchasing. I'm going to make sure now I listen to your reviews before making any purchase to any electronics for my kitchen. My husband is going to be so upset because it was a give from him.

    One thought I have is that the ninja IQ probably needed to have more of everything when compared to the blendtec. But as we all know, the blades might just give out. And it might be a little much for the ninja

    We have a cold stone where I live (ice cream place) and they make smoothies using ninjas, I refuse to try one just based on that fact. How can a large business think it's a good idea to use ninja blenders in their stores....

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  11 місяців тому

      That's really odd. Ninja machines aren't even designed for commercial use. I'm certain they haven't been reliable at Cold Stone for the amount of customers they get throughout the day.

    Blendtec sucks, I spend almost 500 on it after 1 year it started making grinding sounds and had a brown slime coming from the bottom, when I looked on google many other people had the same problem, the answer? Buy another jar at 100.00 hummmmmmmm so I started using my old 20.00 Hamilton beach blender, it still works no sound. I recently got a ninja for Xmas so, we will see how it works. I am not impressed by the blendtec
