If you want to convert the brake into conventional, horizontal position (as shown at 3:48), you can do more than just move the handle. The whole moving structure can be inverted if you take it apart. The result is a very nice brake with no piece sticking upwards. I just did that to mine.
@@austere_clicky6131 yes I would recommend this handbrake. Only issue I had was that one of the holes didn't line up, so now my handbrake is secured with 3 instead of 4 bolts. Anyway rock solid mounted so no problem for me

I've looked at hundreds of these things and they either don't come with a table clamp or the seller doesn't bother to mention if it has a table clamp or take a photo of one and they always cost far too much for me to buy one without knowing for sure if it comes with a table clamp. But this one is $35 with a table clamp! Instant Buy. TABLE CLAMP! (edit) actually there's another one on that site that appears to be exactly the same thing but for only $13! I can't tell why one is cheaper than the other. (edit 2) I see now. Variations of the product are handled by changing the "color' option. One "color" is just the table clamp, another "color" is just the mounting plate, another "color" is the handbrake with the table clamp and without the mounting plate, etc.

You know when you want to put it in horizontal position, you can adjust the bottom piece so you don't have that awkward part sticking up, that's what the extra holes in the bottom piece are for. This is a common mistake I've seen on many channels. Sorry if someone's already mentioned this, I couldn't be bothered to read all the comments lol
Unfortunately, that doesn't work, I've already tested it. If you flip the bottom, piece, you'll discover the handle collides with the cover that houses the controller board when you pull the handbrake.

You are dead right, a handbrake doesn't normally get used a whole lot. For the video, I pre-selected a track with as many sharp bends as I could find and overused it for demonstration purposes.
When my one arrived the 4 holes in the top half of the mounting bracket did not all align with the holes in the bottom of the handbrake unit. I reported this to Banggood and have had an initial response but at the time of writing this comment the issue has not been resolved. Happy to update this comment if I get a satisfactory outcome.
I did not buy the one from Bangood, but one using the same set up and I would just suggest being careful with the cable where it connects to the handbrake. I had the connector break off the board. I love the handbrake, it is a great value.
I have one, I have had it for about a year however when I first got it the magnet came off and it came with no clamp. I had to super glue the magnet back on and find a clamp i already had. Apart from that it does its job and there is an allen screw at the back you can tighten up to reduce the deadzone.

Didn't see anyone ask this but what is the rotating metal hook for? Is that to hold the break back at the start of the race so you don't have to do it manually? If so, the default position out of the box doesn't extend forward enough to hold the bolt but I saw the is a hole to adjust the hook and move it forward a bit. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Yes, the hook is for holding full lock on the handbrake. It's a redundant feature as the lever doesn't come back far enough to hook it around the bolt. Of course it's a modded version of the handbrake, so I guess it would have worked before. I ended up removing the hook as it rattled around a bit.
5:40 i assume its just because its setup for drifting, in the majority of cars setup for drifting (in my experience) you will find the handbrake will be setup pretty loose. i personally like it that way myself also

You should be fine, tracking numbers don't get on the system right away. I've used Banggood quite a few times for bits and pieces and I've always found them to be reliable.
sup, bought similar brake and disassembled it directly.. nothing special but a female USB-A port (but it’s connected via USB-C) and a few lanes that aren’t soldered anyways. later in “calibration” it showed me 8 or more buttons. 🤔 confusing & weird because it seems possible to build a button box out of it. I’m wondering what said Typ A provides 😂
If you mean the one I was using in this review. It's a BJ Simracing model that they no longer sell. I also modded it with a different gear knob, and I had to redo the electronics so it doesn't fully resemble the original shifter anymore so in not in reviewable state really.

I don't know why, but mine has a giant deadzone in the start and when it starts detecting the travel it reaches 100% so quick, almost before middle of the total travel. Does anyone has any tips on how to calibrate this or mod?

Some are saying this doesn't work for Forza Horizon 4 because it's analog, (Which iirc just means that it has different force from 0% to 100% pulled right?) I have a question.It is meant for t300 but is it all versions because i have the thrustmaster t300 alcantara.And something really unexplainable happend to my shifter that i cant understan.After opening my pc in the morning the th8a shifer didt work and wasnt showed in the app while being detected by the Pc.It had no effect on any games and didnt work well.What do i have to do to get it working
.... No no no.... to make it a horizontal handbrake... you pull the slip ring. Take out the main bolt and flip the whole upright handle. That sets it to horizontal position.
It doesn't work out so well, I've just tested it. What happens in this orientation, the lever hits the plastic cover holding the controller board and that could easily get damaged. It was worth testing it out, so thanks for the comment.
I could really use some help. I just got one off Amazon. It’s the cheapest I could find. Didn’t come with a table clamp and it’s acting weird. So when I dig deeper apparently it thinks it’s a Xbox controller. So it was moving the camera and not letting me drive well looking back ETC.. I tried Beamng and instead of a simple parking break press like I assigned my 0 button on my whee to do it holds it. I tried inverting it other stuff. Then I tried forza horizon 4 the game it suggested on its page. Nope. It messed with the camera and driving and what not. Changed some settings to not have controller binding and ONLY the parking break on the “Xbox controller” yet it doesn’t work. It holds it in place. I checked the device on my computer and it was all Chinese idk if that’s normal or not, and the usb is like glued into the motherboard. So I uh, should I return it? Give it another shot? Any advice?
I'd say return it. It should be recognised by Windows as a generic analog input and not an Xbox controller. Which it why it's going nuts in games, and operating like a predefined Xbox controller input in games. It shouldn't do this.

Windows doesn’t even recognize it as a Xbox controller just some Chinese words which if I put into translate it roughly translates to “identification handle” in games it’s reconizes it as an Xbox controller which is weird to me. Can you flip the lower part of the handbrake so that it sticks out the way a streetcar's handbrake does? I know this requires disassembly but the mounting holes seem to allow that.

Was the usb cable hard to push into the usb hole? I ordered this, and got it then go to plug the usb in and the little thing just snaps with ease. Wasnt to happy but i sent it back and am getting a new one from them.
It wasn't difficult in plug the micro USB. I've had no problems, but I can tell the micro USB connector is a fragile component and a yank could break it off the board. Use a cable tie to told the USB cable to the shifter to relieve any tension and you should be fine. Mine arrived already like that.
I experienced them being a tight fit as well. But I found by having all 4 bolts just loosely inserted into the threads, I was able to get them all in, then tightened them and that worked for me.

Can confirm this, took me awhile but you’d have to basically disassemble the whole thing, rotate the main lever and reassemble it back

I assume for use as a parking brake, in its IRL applications.
The metal hook in the real world application of that handbrake is used to create a temporary parking brake in queuing lines during drifting events.

Hole spaces are as follows: 35mm width, 85mm length. M6 bolts.

later in “calibration” it showed me 8 or more buttons. 🤔 confusing & weird because it seems possible to build a button box out of it. I’m wondering what said Typ A provides 😂

It's not console compatible. I don't know about using drive hub, I don't know much about that hardware. Most likely not.

If you mean the one I was using in this review. It's a BJ Simracing model that they no longer sell. I also modded it with a different gear knob, and I had to redo the electronics so it doesn't fully resemble the original shifter anymore so in not in reviewable state really.
Well I got my USB handbrake but the mounting bracket the screw holds slightly off at the back they don't match how was yours? I told them grrrrr

I wouldn't say it was a major issue, as it all held together firmly. I wonder if just using two bolts, one front and opposite angle on the rear would still be okay?

I don't know why, but mine has a giant deadzone in the start and when it starts detecting the travel it reaches 100% so quick, almost before middle of the total travel. Does anyone has any tips on how to calibrate this or mod?

I just ordered one, but I need the hole pattern / drill template to prepare a mount for my rig. Could you give me the dimensions of those 4 holes to mount it? Like distance and diameter?
Hole spaces are as follows: 35mm width, 85mm length. M6 bolts.

You can adjust the spring force by turning the middle bolt in the back, I think?
You also reduce the throw of the handbrake by doing so.

Some are saying this doesn't work for Forza Horizon 4 because it's analog, (Which iirc just means that it has different force from 0% to 100% pulled right?) Hey when you get a handbrake does it have to match up with the bit of your pc ? Because I bought a 14 bit and it wouldn’t calibrate to my wheel setting so I just purchased a 64 bit which is my pc bit size so you think it’ll work ? !
The bit aspect is the resolution of the sensor in the handbrake.

It is detected in Dirt Rally 1 & 2.0, Assetto Corso, ACC & BeamNG.drive, all of which perform perfectly.

I have a question.It is meant for t300 but is it all versions because i have the thrustmaster t300 alcantara.And something really unexplainable happend to my shifter that i cant understan.After opening my pc in the morning the th8a shifer didt work and wasnt showed in the app while being detected by the Pc.It had no effect on any games and didnt work well.What do i have to do to get it working
Sounds like your shifter has died. I owned a th8a shifter a few years back and it just stopped working the same way you've described your problem.
What button do you bind the handbrake to in game for it work?
There will be a Handbrake key binding in the game. You map the handbrake to that.

.... No no no.... to make it a horizontal handbrake... you pull the slip ring. Take out the main bolt and flip the whole upright handle. That sets it to horizontal position.
It doesn't work out so well, I've just tested it. What happens in this orientation, the lever hits the plastic cover holding the controller board and that could easily get damaged. It was worth testing it out, so thanks for the comment.

I just got one off Amazon. It’s the cheapest I could find. Didn’t come with a table clamp and it’s acting weird.
So when I dig deeper apparently it thinks it’s a Xbox controller. So it was moving the camera and not letting me drive well looking back ETC.. I tried Beamng and instead of a simple parking break press like I assigned my 0 button on my whee to do it holds it. I tried inverting it other stuff.
Then I tried forza horizon 4 the game it suggested on its page. Nope. It messed with the camera and driving and what not. Changed some settings to not have controller binding and ONLY the parking break on the “Xbox controller” yet it doesn’t work. It holds it in place.
I checked the device on my computer and it was all Chinese idk if that’s normal or not, and the usb is like glued into the motherboard. So I uh, should I return it? Give it another shot? Any advice?
I'd say return it. It should be recognised by Windows as a generic analog input and not an Xbox controller. Which it why it's going nuts in games, and operating like a predefined Xbox controller input in games. It shouldn't do this.

Windows doesn’t even recognize it as a Xbox controller just some Chinese words which if I put into translate it roughly translates to “identification handle” in games it’s reconizes it as an Xbox controller which is weird to me.

Can you flip the lower part of the handbrake so that it sticks out the way a streetcar's handbrake does? I know this requires disassembly but the mounting holes seem to allow that.
I tested that and it doesn't work, as in that orientation, when pulled the lever collides with the cover housing, containing the circuit board.

It's plugs directly in into a PC USB socket, and works with any wheel. It's not consoles.

Was the usb cable hard to push into the usb hole? I ordered this, and got it then go to plug the usb in and the little thing just snaps with ease. Wasnt to happy but i sent it back and am getting a new one from them.
It wasn't difficult in plug the micro USB. I've had no problems, but I can tell the micro USB connector is a fragile component and a yank could break it off the board. Use a cable tie to told the USB cable to the shifter to relieve any tension and you should be fine. Mine arrived already like that.

I experienced them being a tight fit as well. But I found by having all 4 bolts just loosely inserted into the threads, I was able to get them all in, then tightened them and that worked for me.
