- One of my personal favorite moments in the World Tournament Saga, namely because I LOVE Dragon Ball. This moment is a nice throwback to the good ol' days.

It helps that he showed he remembers the awesome battles of goku and the people he fought including piccolo and that he knows who really beat cell
TurnupGrain43 well technically he doesn't know who actually beat cell, he never knew about gohan
Stephen Nguyen well he saw Chi Chi propose so it wouldn’t be too much of a leap for him to at least assume Goku had a child. On top of that he probably saw the beginning of the cell games on TV and at least guessed that the group fighting cell was Goku and such.
Piccolo has mad respect for that guy because he kept announcing while Goku and Piccolo were trying to kill each other.
He is like a dbz fan who lives in dbz universe.

Everything about this scene is great, his recognition which they hardly ever get from anybody, his reaction to Goku being dead, and Gohan's inner monologue. It's so wholesome.

this moment made the Announcer one of my favorite characters. Dude actually remembers the shit that went down in Dragon Ball and knows people flying and ki blasts arent a big deal.
He witnessed it first hand 3 times in a row when Goku showed up with his friends and rivals in Dragonball. So of course he would remember that. The same could be said of all the friends he made during Dragonball as well.

The dude literally was around for the Goku vs. Piccolo fight in which Piccolo literally nukes the place and does crazy shit...The Announcer is pretty much the only person on the planet that can say he's seen shit first-hand.

Luke Brown Media manipulation blinds the rest, to the point they almost go with anything Mr.Satan says as to what happened during the Cell games. After Goku left to stay with ChiChi, Saiyan problem on Earth, and Namek he had already won the World Martial Arts tournament and Goku was slowly forgotten. DB fans call them stupid and shit for not realizing it when it's clear as day as to why they believe Satan was the hero during the Cell and especially Buu Saga.
You have to give Mr. Satan some credit though, in the buu saga. He was the one who separated the evil from Majin Buu, and if it wasn't for him, Goku wouldn't have gotten more spirit energy for the Spirit Bomb, and Kid Buu would have killed everyone.
This guy has to be the best non-powered human in the entire series. He knows Hercule/Mr. Satan is full of crap, he's been around since the original Dragonball, and he just rolls with the punches when it comes to all the crazy other worldly stuff that happens around Goku and his friends.
The least the creators could do is give this guy a proper name....

Hercule isn't EXACTLY full of crap. He's genuinely pretty strong. He's easily the strongest regular person. He just refuses to fight people who seem insanely strong because that's how his master died.

I love how the announcer guy is the only human that realizes how powerful the z-fighters are. He is seriously the most level-headed non-fighter human in the show. Love this guy! :D

Have you SEEN this show? That's hardly the weirdest thing to happen to him. I mean, he fought his dead grandpa so that a witch would tell him how to find a magical ball that would summon a wish granting dragon that was sculpted by a genie and given life by an alien so that he could resurrect a dead native man who was killed after he single-handedly destroyed an entire army after nearly winning a tournament where he turned into a giant monkey to beat up an old man who was really his master with a wig glued to his head. Shit, this isn't even the first time Goku died.

well he's probably getting paid a ton now. the tournament went from a smaller thing with a few hundred people in the audience to now a big stadium like a football or soccer stadium, and he's been with them all the way. so yeah, he's probably loaded now too lol

Holy shit, the Ring Announcer is no doubt the smartest human in Dragon Ball Z. This guy is so fucking chill and down to earth with Goku and his family and is heavily entertained by their abnormal superhuman strength. The guy even knows how much of a fake ass Mr.Hercule is XD
I just love how he's totally chill with Goku saying he's actually dead and just back for the day

I love the characters like the ring announcer and the King Furry who are normal people that know how much of a hero Goku and his friends are.

I love the announcer, I am glad this scene got into the anime, forgot if it's in the manga. Just a nice nod this guy remembers Goku, Krillin and Piccolo from the prior tournaments and has such faith in their abilities he knew upon seeing them at the Cell Games that Mr. Satan was full of hogwash claiming he beat Cell. The fact he says the tournament had sucked without them is a big tell, and shows the man is a lover of the martial arts even if he doesn't practice it; he knows TRUE talent.
The scene's in the manga. Mr. Alonsa is so glad to see them, whispers that he knows it was totally them who stopped Cell and points out how dull the tournaments have been without them. One part that isn't in the manga is the bit where Gohan is shown smiling that someone acknowledges his father.

Human Creativity In the later saga Mr Satan was more of a hero than he was in the prior. For the following reasons
1) Before he changed into Super boo he had convinced him to stop killing, and live a life of peace. Even Piccolo gave him respect for this.
2) Without Mr. Satan Goku and the others would have lost against Kid boo due to Vegeta's arrogance in saying the earthlings should protest themselves instead of just warping Gotenks and Gohan (Both of which surpassed Kid boo's power by a great margin due to being able to hold/destroy Super boo who was far stronger than Kid boo)
But on the other point you mentioned yeah I can agree with you especially seeing as the media did do something like that when showing the cell games remake of how he defeated cell.
Piccolo has mad respect for that guy after he kept announcing and didn't run away despite goku and piccolo trying to kill each other

This was one of my favorite moments in the series.
All the explosions, bone breaking, and blood are fun to watch, but it's the little moments like this that really get my heart pumping.
It's like the announcer almost wants them to destroy the arena.
I feel bad for the ring announcer his tournament got ruined after he was really stocked for some intense matches :/

I love how no one remembers King Piccolo over throwing the world government and throwing earth into anarchy and they all should know Piccolo is King Piccolo revived.
I love how the World Tournament Announcer has seen so much stuff that he doesn't even question that Goku came back from the dead for a day to participate, since he remembers when Krillin got killed by Tambourine and then showed up for the next tournament completely fine. He even doesn't believe Mr. Satan's crap for a second, though he is a *bit* off the mark on who defeated Cell, he was close enough.
Vegeta: yeah I can't make any promises on the future of your ring's condition.
