The spino we saw in jp3 was actually modified. It had baryonyx and suchomimus DNA in it,giving it its theropod body in the movie. The reason Alan said the giga was the largest is because even in the jurassic franchise,a spino is like what we have now
I get that people don't like this movie. (Yeah, the whole locust sub-plot was unnecessary, but it didn't really bother me) But they built an entire animatronic Giga for that scene. I feel like, at the very least that means something.
It's still funny to me how people were so mad about them letting the Spino kill the Rex in JP3 that they made sure to never let it happen again, and Rex has been winning ever since via tag team
The issue in my opinion wasn't that the Rex died, it was the dinosaur that killed the T. Rex. If they had used the Giga in JP 3 instead of the Spino, the outcry would have been nowhere near as big, because it would have been more believable back then.
@@zaydjawad3653That was the movies error. Which is why I said replace the Spino with the Giga, but have it being as agressive as the Spino. Even in 2001 it was clear that a real Spino couldn't kill a Rex, but the Giga? Back then it was said to be 3 meters longer than the Rex and 2 tons heavier. Inaccurate today, but back then it would have been totally believable to have a Giga kill a T. Rex.
@@Pascal1607 Real Spinos were actually the largest terrestrial carnivore to ever walk the Earth. Just look it up. Gigas were slightly bigger than T-Rex but T-Rex had a stronger neck and bite force and was actually slightly heavier (so I guess had denser muscle? or perhaps Giga was just taller but T-rex maybe had a thicker tail and thicker legs). Current fossil evidence puts Spinos at being up to 60 feet long and weighing up to 20 tons. Larger than any giga or t-rex fossil evidence shows. Thing is also, the current scientific consensus is also that spinos were at least partially aquatic (one thing that the game ARK: Survival Evolved got right). Real spino fossil records show they have hooked claws, long narrow heads and even serrated teeth like sharks. Making them more suited to catching slippery fast moving sea animals. Yet, their center of gravity is estimated to be right over their hind legs, suggesting that they also had the ability to walk on land on two legs like most terrestrial carnivores did. I think based on what I have researched, there seems to be more scientific debate on Spinos than any other prehistoric creature. Was it actually a "land carnivore" or was it an "aquatic carnivore" that occasionally took hiatuses on land or was it both and could do both equally effectively?
*Dinosaur when side character's* brutally ripped and sliced open *"Dinosaur when main characters"* : we can easily kill you but for some reasons we have to do drama to only let you slip ,😅

@@JorgeReyesSanchez-g3sNothing you see in JP is scientific. In a battle 1 vs 1 probably t rex win against the others and probably Spino lose against the others. Also, if they met, under normal conditions the would avoid each other.
@@CreativeBigL Actual spino spent a lot of time in the water, and wasn't even that great of a swimmer. this video is really well put together, and i appreciate all the effort that went into compiling the giganotosaurus scenes! however, while i think the visual effects are impressive, i can't help but feel that the portrayal of these dinosaurs lacks a bit of realism compared to other films. maybe i'm just old school, but i kinda miss the more scientifically accurate representations we used to see.
@noobbotgaming2173 And yet the former would have weighed significantly more than the latter. We do not measure the total size of animals by length. If that were the case, then giraffes would be considered larger than elephants lol
@@ocarinabravoHighly unlikely that a Rex would ever reach that size in its lifetime. The study in question only calculated the maximum potential for T.rex. Well i expected someone will get eaten by a Giganotosaurus but no, This film did not justify the role of the Giga, instead the giant locusts has more screen time than that of the Giga, I do hope in the next film they still includes the Giga then add Mapusaurus, Deltadromeus, Daspletosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus the Battle of Theropods 😂😂
Exactly. I loved this movie because there were so many different dinosaurs that had their unique scene... JW1 was only about the Indominus and the Raptors, JW2 gave us many new dinos but we only saw them on the run and on an auction.

I like how they wanted to do a flashback to the age of dinosaurs with the animals looking more "realistic", when Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex were separated by at least 10 million years and lived on different continents.
To be honest, people hate this movie because of Giga's participation in Dominion, but what I don't understand is why they hate Giga's participation when it was simply an obstacle so that the protagonists wouldn't leave their mission, it wasn't even like the Indominus and Indoraptor, they tried to end everything and everyone and dominate the world, the hybrids were monsters but Giga is not considered one, he is an obstacle for the protagonists and a dino that was considered the alpha of Biosyn, I support this movie and hate me if you want, but the giga had a 10/10 participation because it is NOT like the hybrids
I'm fully with you! I loved everything about this movie... my only problem is that the Giga was brutally killed for acting like a normal apex predator defending his territory
As a true solid JP fan, this dominion is a big disgraced to the JP franchise. Everything is lame! Have you seen how Giga reacts when it ruined the reunion of these characters? As if like it's taunting them and not actually wanting to kill them all. It's timid, and just breathing whenever it had an opportunity to devour them. Lastly, they shouldn't have had the Giga killed. It's not hybrid dino unlike Indominus and Indoraptor. Giga is just being an animal as it is supposed to be. They should have stopped at Jurassic World (4th one), and did not create the fallen kingdom and this garbage dominion
Giga is smart, head butting the T-Rex before she could bite him. While giga has the flesh cutting mouth full of knives, he's still no bone crusher like a tyrannosaur.

@@João-u8bdocumentaries can also be a bit over the top lol. In 2000s, early 2010s there was a big spino craze. Many palaeontologists thought that the Spinosaurus was a predator, a tier higher than rexes, carcharodontosauruses, gigas, etc. Jack horner(main paleo advisor of the series) firmly believed that. Do you know who else believed that ? The creators of the dinosaur documentary "Monsters Resurrected". They made the Spinosaurus a sauropod sized super mega predator lol. Currently we are on the other side of the spectrum where Spinosaurus has become a duck.
Giga was just being itself, only really chased the human once, didn't kill anyone except a T-Rex million years ago. Then they labeled it as a villain and humiliated it by being placed as an opponent in a final fight that didn't matter to the plot. Justice for Giga

This movie really could've given the dinosaurs speech and it would've STILL been just stupid enough to make it an enjoyable fun bad movie.
I swear the giga just wanted to be friends with the gang. He wasn’t even trying to hunt them, granted, they can’t see what’s in front of them apparently.
The giga probaly wouldnt even have run after them if they fleed. The giga would Just want them either out of his territory,or make sure they mind their own business.
“What is that..?”
Grant turned, eyes dead on the Goliath of a predator, “Giganotosaurus. Calmest Carnivore the world has ever seen.”
The Giga was kind of chill. They did him dirty in the end
I kind of find it funny of how out of all the dinosaurs that are now treated like sci-fi monsters the one dinosaur who acts like an actual animal other than it’s design is the main villain
Is it just me or was the Giga the most underwhelming dinosaur in that entire franchise, besides seeing the rex for the 19th time?
Writers are terrible, the plot armor is inmense in those movies. It's unvelieveable how with like 10 people in front of those dinosaurs nobody is killed 😂
Jurasic park and the lost world are the only two movies with a proper writers team
The giga just didn’t feel like that big of a threat even while being the biggest carnivore to ever exist
Biggest, but Trex was still heavier with a much stronger bite.
@@bri-manhunter2654big boi
Because it’s not a cold blooded murderer like the hybrids, but an animal with a realistic behavior
@@nicolasrestrepo6177 we don't really need to have them be cold blooded monsters to be scary, in the first and second original films they had the dinosaurs scary even though they were animals because they were actually putting the main cast's lives in danger. they want the giga to be passive? that's fine, but if they want to make an intimidating scene you need to raise the stakes. it doesn't help that the director and the advertisements try to sell it as the big bad like the indominus or the spinosaurus
@@FredBstar3K lol what? In the first movie the dinosaurs are in a constant state of bloodlust. Animals don't act like that. In nature predators go after prey when they need food, not 247.
why does giganotasaurus constantly roar? Like even when it's by itself it's just shouting at nothing. Loudest hunter the world has ever seen lmfao bro straight up scares every potential prey away within a 5 mile radius just by existing
they all do that. it’s very annoying.
You don’t know why lions roar at night, do you
@@MrSserpent difference is most theropods were solitary with the exception of T-Rex being close to their mates don't think velociraptor is considered a "theropod". Lions are one of the most social species on the planet besides humans and they have complex social hierarchies in their prides. Lions roaring at night is a social activity they do amongst each other also they use it like "marco-polo" to help find eachother when its pitch black lol. This giga is straight up roaring at nothing.
Alan : A giganotosaurus, the biggest carnivore that the world is ever seen
Spinossaurus : i'm a joke to you ?
@@Pascal1607Meh, the spino always felt a lot more dangerous and terrifying than the giga in the movies
And still he lost every 1vs 1 fight since JP3 🤣
*Dinosaur when side character's* brutally ripped and sliced open
*"Dinosaur when main characters"* : we can easily kill you but for some reasons we have to do drama to only let you slip ,😅
The fact that ellie ran out there to try and help those who were trapped under rexy
Indominus Rex still best JW Franchise antagonist
I Think what Alan Grant meant with ''Biggest carnivore the World's ever seen'', he was actually reffering to THAT Giganotosaurus, not that he's the Biggest one in History, but only in that time.

You forgot one scene of this dinosaur: the one when Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Ramsay Cole were heading towards Biosyn Valley, the Giganotosaurus slept peacefully as it was approached by a Moros.
Giga just reminds me of a heavier trex.
Spino is more exciting to me.
It’s actually a taller lighter faster smarter version of it
Spino is definitely the weakest of the 3 in terms of the actual dinosaurs. Giga is the only large therapod aside from carcharadontosaurus and tarbosaurs to hunt sauropods
@@JorgeReyesSanchez-g3s
What's your proof of strength? Definitely not scientifically proven.
Therizionosaurus looks so good🔥
Remember when characters used to die in these movies?
I thought the spino was bigger? I know it waded in the water, but it was still a land animal.
In thr jurassic park franchise giga is the biggest carnivore in real life spino is the longest but not the biggest t.rex was the heaviest land carnivore and therefore the largest
Another thing the series got wrong, was thinking or just not caring that T Rex and Giga were in the same regions, and different time frames of the Mesozoic Era. T Rex was in North America, while Giganatosaurus was in South America
@@matejajanic6932 Wrong.. actually it seems if the source comes from North then the T-rex seems to be "bigger" but if the source comes from South then Giga.. so this looks more like something else lol

this video is really well put together, and i appreciate all the effort that went into compiling the giganotosaurus scenes! however, while i think the visual effects are impressive, i can't help but feel that the portrayal of these dinosaurs lacks a bit of realism compared to other films. maybe i'm just old school, but i kinda miss the more scientifically accurate representations we used to see.
What's weird is that the t rex was thought to have been bigger and stronger than the giga. Thanks hollywood
you are correct, 70% larger than previously thought too mind you.
@@ocarinabravo Nope. Scotty was 13 metres (43ft) long. Giganotosaurus averaged between 12.5-13 metres (42-43ft) long.
This means if it theoretically had the perfect food intake, had the best genetics and lived long enough to reach exceptional size, while somehow not succumbing to any diseases or physical trauma inflicted by other Rexes in its environment.
@@maxmcqueen1196 Nice try but don't change the parameter. Dinosaurs ARE measured by total length. Even the T-Rex.

@@Russsia12 Who's call you?
I'm fully with you! I loved everything about this movie... my only problem is that the Giga was brutally killed for acting like a normal apex predator defending his territory
Why does this thing move so slow when it’s around our main characters?
Aside from the poor herbivores killed by the Indominus Rex, the Giga was the most pointless dino death of the entire franchise.
They brought back OG Jurassic Park characters but couldn't bring back "Spiny" Spinosaurus
Why did the Giga looked like an Concavenator?
I felt like watching a Fast & Furious movie with Dinosaurs in it.
The giga was just being an animal he wasn't the villain he was he victim
Bad design, but Giga acted more like a real predator than any of the theropods introduced since JP3.
Giga is smart, head butting the T-Rex before she could bite him. While giga has the flesh cutting mouth full of knives, he's still no bone crusher like a tyrannosaur.
