Very impressed with how much you were able to interpret on a first listen/watch. There's always so much happening visually, sonically, lyrically, and vocally that a first listen can be overwhelming to keep track. Would love for you to try "Running with the Wolves" from the same album or "Queendom" from her next.
Some facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot (as far as we know) during January 31 to February 2, 2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the 'furry' top (it's actually sheep wool) are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid very close to her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange (Bjørnafjorden; Norway).
Just wow. Thank you for the bonus information. It adds so much depth to the experience and the artistry. I can't believe she wrote this wen she was 11... Absolutely amazing. Much love
Very accurate reaction. You're the first one, I think, to notice that line "I've been putting sorrow on the farest place on my shelf", which is such an expression of Aurora's emotionnal intelligence, imho. You're right about the loss: as far as I know, she wrote this song after the death of a close Friend of the family, her godfather, I believe, when she was eleven. Aurora had to cope with several losses very early. She has used songwriting to deal with her feelings and an anusual relation to death for someone so young. She lost a classmate when she was 15, she wrote Why Did You Have to Go a Place for her funerals (the audio was leaked by the mother, you can find a fan vidéo from it). She also lost a close friend (boyfriend?) killed in the Utøya massacre when she was 16, she wrote Little Boy in the Grass (prefer the Mahogani session version). Both songs are heartbreaking.
Ohh man one of the best interpretation of this song and i have seen a lot since 2018. Her expression is one of her specialitet. No one is even close. There are songs that are stronger than anything i have seen . She have micro expressions who are otherwhortly. Great, hope we see you soon in a Aurora reaction . Sorry about the English
Her expressions reallllly tell the tale in a very nuanced way and it is absolutely beautiful! Expressions in combination with her voice and lyricism are just something else. Also please do not apologize! You spoke very well :) Even if you hadn't I would appreciate you reaching out no matter what! Much love
The best commentary so far to this song. Even I realized a few new things after listening to it about hundred or more times. (Maybe because it is early in the morning and my mind is not clogged with thoughts yet :) Anyway, choose almost anything from or about Aurora on the net and you will like it or love it.
I can create a shorter version of the livestream but as @Oldperson-wt3ui (thank you very much for that btw :]) mentioned I've reacted to it before. Much love
Ha.... you're trapped! Captured by an amazing musician, lyricist and producer named Aurora 😊. You have so much to discover and I am happy to follow you as you do so. You will receive so many suggestions for what to see next that I don't need to come up with some as well. But I would like to recommend some of her live performances to you. There are so many to choose from on YT and no matter which one you choose, you will love it. Although....maybe you should watch one of Aurora's official music videos first and then see her performing the same song live....yeah, I think that would be more interesting for you. But you can't go wrong with Aurora. You'll see (or hear). Nice reaction and welcome to the world of Aurora.
Aurora is one of the absolut best live artists in our time. She does not just feel what she's singing, she's become the song .

Please react to the LIVE version of this song...Its magical..at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
