Hi shropshire lad outdoors...thats a really good idea will use that one in the future but it wasn't the problem of the nut so much as the two washers kept falling off as there is a flat washer and spring washer at the back...so everytime you start the nut one of the washers would fall off..regards Paul

I find some masking tape on the open ended spanner holds nuts well for jobs like that
