Two videos and a belter of a podcast in the space of 24 hours. The current levels of productivity in Sikastan are refreshingly suspicious.

Very informative! I appreciated the info about the bar speed: helps get a better idea about where emphasis should be placed

The prettiest thing in weightlifting to me is still Norik's no contact snatches.

Contact is really a crutch for me. I tried the old school no contact split snatch a while ago and realized that my timing was dependent upon making contact. With no contact you have to really focus on the extension then split the feet.

And it requires more brute strength, too.

Very interesting - I tried the other day after your IG post about it, immediately made me realise my snatch pull does not use enough quads - thank you

Glad I found this video. I think I *have* to learn the no-contact snatch. My anthropometry is such that I barbell myself in the balls with a wide grip 😂

Behind the neck clean don’t know if you guys have seen this but it was online a few years ago just curious about it can’t find it it was wild it would be cool to see you guys cover it pretty viral stuff I tried it when I first saw it with low weight but I don’t remember if it crashed on my neck or if I thought it was too technical so I stopped

Sounds like I could really benefit from some no-contact snatches in particular - I really struggle with leg drive in general and really bring my hips into the snatch.
That being said - I find it MUCH easier to do no contact muscle snatches than with contact, is this weird? The contact ones get super pressy whereas they're much smoother without contact.

Any tips on improving overhead stability on catching the bar + standing up in the snatch?

Clarence0 has suggested tempo overhead squats. So like count 3 seconds down and 3 seconds up.

Gabriel actually says new lifters should learn with no contact a contradiction to what you say , but a good vid and points however.

Your hands are still on the bar, no telekinesis, 0/10.

There's a reason why the Chinese don't do no-contact snatches and cleans. And they're the absolute best in the sport.
