No matter how many times I watch this clip, the line “That was great Squidward! All those *wrong* notes you played made it sound more original” will never not make me chuckle. The delivery and Squidward’s reaction + SFX is top notch. The good old days ...
Many of the tracks in Kingdom Hearts III that we're familiar with from other titles are arranged by different musicians. Still Yoko's compositions, just different arrangements. Many of the tracks people seem to love the most in KH3 are new tracks composed by Yoko. I.e., Edge of Existence, Secrets of the Night, Nachtflügel, and so on.
Every musician has a specific flavor, and the fans can tell when they're being served a vegan bacon substitute. They might lack the music words to know what's wrong but they can feel it's different and wrong and just a little off.
Dark domination Also the boss theme Anger Unchained is rad too, it's only fault is that it is reused in many fights but that isn't the piece's fault and The Other Promise + Vector to the heavens turned 2 of the the saddest songs in the series into a hype fest The replicas theme which is a rad battle theme but it sadly cuts into the Scala theme so people got angry at it, it is given the chance to properly shine un the DLC with the guardians vs the replicas fight, and that is a good segway into the DLC which is full of bangers Hell even the Caribbean theme when you are just exploring the world is great, it doesn't need to be an epic battle song to be good, just set the correct atmosphere Somewhere where ir definitely failed tho.... KH3 has better gummi combat but KH2 has much better gummi OST
It doesn't help that the game is alot easier than the others as well, like there was never any "tension" when encountering bosses (not counting remind ofc)
Kh1 version on the ps2 reminds me of ffX ‘s temple songs. The one that plays in the temple puzzle. I would play KH, KH2 and FFX back to back. I associate between kh and 10 in those vocal tracks.
I just beat KH1.5HD on ps3 the other day, knocking through 2.5hs. Gonna smash through some of the side games like birth by sleep. But I've seemingly found this video just in time for it to be relevant and make sense at all to me 😂
Tbh, this was one of my favorite tracks for KH3, and for me it’s the 2nd best Dive into the Heart (1st goes to the 1.5 version). I feel it’s the case where all of the variations sound great, same thing goes for Dearly Beloved as well.
in KH3's defense, they were a bit more limited in the quality of the tracks compared to nowadays, so a lot of these touched up tracks for KH3 are going to sound "wrong" compared to their originals
If anything, KH2 actually plays the wrong notes, the battle theme for Dive to the Heart isn't "Destati: Battle Mode", its "Fragments of Sorrow" which was previously used in the final world of KH1 and has little to do with the Dive to the Heart
I remember taking my lil ol tv, ps and putting them both under a small table, covered by a blanket so it was a lil hobbit hole and I would play kh nonstop, even when it got outrageously hot
personally i would have felt robbed if they didn't change the songs a little for a whole new game i waited thirteen years for LOL i adored kh3, kh2 is still my fav of course but i really loved the third game! this was funny asf though lmaooo
Crazy I thought 2 is the best one. Starts out slow yeah but everything about the combat is sooo satisfying. Something about 3s combat makes my heart piss it’s pants.
Fuck, it bothers me so much that they got someone to basically re-arrange Shimomura's pieces like that. The originals in MIDI format were so, SO much better.
I'm unsure if I'll ever beat KH3. I played some of it and it didn't feel like how the other games did worlds, and the gameplay felt drastically different. I looked up the worlds to see if it got better, and none of the Disney movie based one's are from movies I like. It felt like being forced to watch the movie with a few extra characters there more than it did being a character helping that world
The worlds with princesses in them are the worst, story-wise. Most of the other worlds are pretty okay because they tell a new story. But yeah, a lot of that Kingdom Hearts feeling is gone. It could be the graphics, the music mixing down a lot of the best melodies for some reason, the super long worlds that aren’t split into multiple visits, the way that the antagonists feel mostly detached from the game until the ending, the lack of Final Fantasy characters, not meeting enough familiar faces, the way the actual story mostly plays out in cutscenes between worlds, or the dynasty warriors combat without the need for many skill or timing-based inputs *takes breath But something was definitely off.
@@dodiswatchbobobolong worlds not being split into multiple visits has to be the single best omission from kh2 that kh3 had. Absolutely kills the pacing and makes the 2nd half of the game a slog. Also the story doesn't play out in Disney worlds in any of the games and antagonists appear in every world in kh3 (besides HAW) which isn't true in any other game in the series afaik.
@@johangodojolo8652 I strongly disagree. The ridiculous length of every Disney World and the density of plot cutscenes placed between them obliterates even the idea of pacing, and the lack of movement back and forth between them makes them feel more like lonely linear levels than planets in an interconnected universe. It’s like “Hope you enjoyed that three hour licensed game of that Disney movie because it’s over. Now in case you’ve forgotten you’re playing Kingdom Hearts, here’s 20 minutes of plot recap with as little animation as possible. Onto the next licensed Disney game!” Also, it’s not a KH2 thing to visit a world multiple times, it’s an every single game except 1 and even 1 had a running thread in Traverse Town thing.
@@dodiswatchbobobo I don't see at all how visiting a place once and playing through an actual fully fleshed out story makes the world feel more linear than visiting a world twice and experiencing 2 very short and chopped up stories that have very little time to do anything interesting and often have you repeating the same shit as before. With the kh2 revisit structure it quite literally is like you're just visiting a licensed Disney game for a 5 minute side excursion rather than playing through an actual story in the kh universe. You're just jumping from place to place doing minigames with barebones plot contextualization for half the game. And no the world revisit structure is exclusively a kh2 thing. All of the other games that have you visiting a world multiple times have you doing it with multiple characters either back to back (in the case of ddd) or separated by entire playthroughs as the characters (bbs and recom). Kh2 is the only game that has you visiting a world then coming back later in the same playthrough to revisit as the same character. Theres an obvious difference there both in gameplay structure/pacing and in narrative setup. Going to the same place to do different things as different characters is completely different from revisiting a place you've already been as the same character. Days (and realistically com too)can't even be talked about here since the structure is so different. DDD is also pretty incomperable to kh2 since youre strongly encourages to tackle the world's with both characters in succession or at the same time making it effectively one visit.
Kh3 fell so flat There’s no emotional investment in the music for me, because there’s no emotional investment in the story for me either :/ I don’t enjoy music that reminds me of a badly written ending to a saga

I can name several songs from KH3 that honestly, IMHO, make it the best soundtrack of the whole series.
Best version of Dive into the Heart was the OG PS2 version. My mind was BLOWN in 2007!
The version with synth voices? Yeah bs. Real choir > fake choir any day
Yeah OG was the best, it has a better sound compared to 1.5 version, though I haven't a clue as to the reason why.
