    Lost my boy Gauge 2 days ago.....10 year old.....the absolute best friend I've ever had. Burst tumor on spleen. Internal bleeding.
    Came on out of the blue. Devastated in a gross understatement. I loved that dog.

      Adam Goodrich You will fall in love with your Vizsla! They are just incredible dogs! Velcro Dogs they are known as, as they love to be with you all the time. Mine slept on my bed every night. He wouldn't retire until part of him was in contact with part of me. They need that contact. My boy never smelled a day in his life. Very clean animal. Loads of energy. Wonderful companions.
      I'm having a hard time making the decision to get another. Part of me left with him. I held him as he was euthanized. No warning! He was chasing me on the snowmobile the day before. Ate a solid meal that night. Could see a change soon after....white gums....uncomfortable.
      In the morning he was in the dark in the basement. I knew at that point it was over.
      Good luck with your new pup! You will love him!

    I have a 3 year old female Vizsla and a 7 month old male Vizsla. They are amazing. This video made me proud to have them as my family members. Although they have a strong character, they are very smart and affectionate hence the reason they are known as velcro dogs.

      It's not mutilation - being a working field breed it is much more humane docking a portion of the tail rather than allowing them to injure the fragile ends of their tails which is extremely difficult to heal and can lead to much larger complications for the dog. Same goes for dewclaws. These dogs can practically turn off their pain receptors when they're in hunt mode, but they will certainly feel it when they get home. That being said - I personally think several field breeds are too short and for non-working pups I love their nice long whippy tails and prefer un-docked :) Ear cropping on the other hand, I don't like it on any breed and don't see any reason to do it.

      @@codycuellar if you're working the dog then that's fine. but people dock vizslas tails for aesthetic reasons, and i think that's completely wrong. they have beautiful long tails. they should stay like that.

    Such a pleasure to see a well trained and handled dog. Congratulations, you have a beautifully mannered 🐕 who is a credit to you. We are at the 4 month age with our gorgeous V (Rosie) at the moment and her training is coming along nicely too. I look forward to having a dog operating at the level of Ruby, but I'm going to enjoy the journey and the milestones along the way.

    This is SUPERB training. Our girl is now 3 1/2 yr old. We started with training classes at about 4 or 5 most old at the local Petco. After about 3-4 sessions the trainer said try later because our Vizsla was just too high energy. To this day, she still doesn't listen very well, doesn't come when called & still jumps on ppl when excited. When going for outtings - thru the city we have to have her wear a sound/shock collar. 99% oh the time she responds to the tone. But when she's stalking a squirrel or other small creature, or even a deer,?she's can be so focused she'll become oblivious to everything around her except her target & will dart right out into traffic. GREAT JOB with training Ruby. Our girl's name is Redd. We call her Reddy Redd, lovingly.

    • @AdolescentDogsUK
      @AdolescentDogsUK  5 років тому +3

      The video only shows the dog in training mode, because this is what their owner has paid for us to do. Training allows dogs to have more freedom than an untrained dog would ever be able to have, and to go to more places than an untrained dog will ever be able to go to. Its not about being robotic, its about being a pleasure to take our dogs anywhere, confident in the knowledge that they are safe, well behaved and able to enjoy the freedom they deserve

    • @judymiller5154
      @judymiller5154 4 роки тому

      a sporting dog is happiest with a job, where they are constantly pleasing their human! A spoiled puppy will become an adult who is either banished outside or crated, or always being yelled at, which would make for one miserable Vizsla!! It is a huge favor to train your pup when to work and when to play at a moments notice, then everybody is joyful!
