- A two-month deadline for Ukrainian men of conscription age to update their contact details with military enlistment officers is set to run out.
It comes as part of the Ukrainian government's efforts to maintain manpower in its ongoing war with Russia, who invaded the country in 2022.
The government has said it will impose fines and possibly even prosecute those who do not comply.

So, to be clear. Government introduced a new law, with a deadline of 2 months to comply with. But at the same time no facilities for this were given, I.e, the app that used to be operational is not anymore, so you have to physically go to the centre and update all your data. If not complying , $500 fine is applied, or prison. How dare can you be to do this with your citizens? There is a clear lack of management and care of own people. Shame on Ukraine. So much money been given and even an operational app not been properly developed to work and enable its citizens to comply with the new law…..

I agree that not everybody was born to be 'Rambo' but, at the same time, Ukraine is facing an existential crisis that requires all hands on deck. If there are men who consider themselves completely unsuitable for combat roles, they could be given other tasks. For example, they could be sent to the borders to help place Dragon's Teeth, razor wire, and dig anti-tank ditches, as well has help with constructing bunkers, tunnels, and trenches. There's no reason why a young man with two arms and two legs can't be sent to do that. They can also driver trucks, assist with loading and unloading ammunition and weapons to/from trains and trucks.
Meanwhile, they could try incentivizing more men to choose the front line. If Ukraine was to retake all Russian-occupied areas, there will be some Russian sympathizers in those areas who will flee from the country the moment they know the Ukrainian police are coming to arrest traitors. Men with good service on the front line could be promised their houses/apartments that they leave behind.
