A little tidbit about the WBC: In early 1998, Roy Jones Jr. announced that he was relinquishing his WBC light heavyweight title. In response, the WBC ordered a bout between Graciano Rocchigiani from Germany and the former champion Michael Nunn to fill the vacancy, sanctioning it as a world championship match. On 21 March 1998, Rocchigiani won the fight and a WBC belt; in the subsequent WBC rankings, he was listed as "Light Heavyweight World Champion". Jones, however, had a change of heart and asked if the WBC would reinstate him as the champion. In a move that violated nearly a dozen of its own regulations, the WBC granted the reinstatement.[18] Rocchigiani received a letter from the WBC advising that the publication of his name as champion was a typographical error and he had never been the official titleholder.[19] Rocchigiani immediately filed a lawsuit against the WBC in a U.S. federal court, claiming that the organization's actions were both contrary to their own rules and injurious to his earning potential (due to diminished professional stature). On 7 May 2003, the judge ruled in Rocchigiani's favor, awarding him $31 million (U.S.) in damages and reinstating him as a former WBC champion (Rocchigiani had lost a bout since his WBC title match). The following day, the WBC sought protection by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (i.e., corporate debt restructuring) in Puerto Rico. The organization spent the next 13 months trying to negotiate a 6-figure settlement with Rocchigiani, but the fighter at first rejected the proposal. On 11 June 2004, the WBC announced it would enter Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation (i.e., business closing and total asset sell-off) proceedings, effectively threatening its existence. This action prompted some in the boxing community to plead with Rocchigiani to settle the dispute, which he did in mid-July 2004.[20]

That speaks well of the brand and the quality, fit, and protection offered by their products. Reyes could do the same, but they appear headed down the same path as once respected brands like Everlast and Benlee. The last great pair of boxing gloves I had were the Everlast 2416 sparring/training gloves. They were full grain leather and made in the Everlast factory in the Bronx, New York, New York. They looked like something Popeye would wear, like cannonballs, but were super comfortable, built like a tank, and made the most satisfying pop sound I've not found in any other glove since. If I'd known beforehand that they'd stop making them and close down their Bronx plant, I'd have bought more pairs of the same and kept mine for re-stuffing. They were that good. R.I.P. Everlast
I bought around 20 pair cletos and let me tell you they are the best. They do not need someone that is not even boxing anymore to buy them and make their price go higher.

R.I.P. Everlast
Reyes boxing equipment set the standard and the precedent in boxing.
Mayweather used Reyes during DeLa Hoya fight but then talked bad about the gloves during he's fight with Maidana saying they were dangerous
Because they had no padding... the glove crumpled by a slight press. And it was Everlast gloves
@@MrFujin you make no sense, the whole glove thing from maywheater was Reyes gloves where dangerous in general, know to be used by punchers
@Jake Tomper look at the fight where he's putting on the sombrero hat before going to the ring and even during the fight
That's when you know you on a different level than them
But tank wears the no boxing no life gloves
U about to see him with Reyes gloves
No boxing np.life
Cleto is already a huge name in boxing
I bought around 20 pair cletos and let me tell you they are the best. They do not need someone that is not even boxing anymore to buy them and make their price go higher.
It is Manny Pacquiao's favorite gloves, it is already very popular long time ago especially in the Philippines ...hope the price will not skyrocket ( become so costly ).....the law of supply and demand or just wanting to have a high return of investment.... .not anymore affordable for poor countries where boxing is very popular
The company needs him because everyone fucking with grant
@@watching789 they dumb as hell don't tell them anything.
Soft hands can’t take it. Would love to see him try a pair of Gil, Boxeo, or Campeon. Soft hands floyd 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Funny thing is, Floyd promoting Pacquaio's Glove 🤣 Everyone knows Pac is a Cleto Reyes Glove user since day one
Cleto Reyes the best gloves out there faxxx
Omg these prices about to go up lol
YOOOO hahaha, now I NEED to cop me another pair and also keep mine extra fresh for when and if the prices do go up
Way better than the showing off Mayweather from years ago.
If Floyd learns Spanish he gunna be Dominican 😂 I love this event so many legends 👍
Or cuban dark Cuban's and dark Dominicans look alike lol
@@noelguillermo685 that to fax I said that because of the beard lol 😂
With how much business he actually does with Spanish businesses and Spanish fighters he should learn a Lil Spanish. It would be great to connect him more with Spanish fans as well because he never had that in his career
That's why he is TBE. Supports anybody, no matter what.
Cleto Reyes daughter was laughing please chump we don't need u were bigger then u lol 😂😂😂 maywheather be tripping lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Jorge Hernandez yeah pacquiao wore Reyes gloves those are his favorite gloves
They need to upgrade their training glove... both fight gloves(normal and safetec) are awesome
Everyone knows that the best boxing gloves are cleto reyes… is good that floyd recognizes that…
Lol what a translator!!!
Lovely color of the belt
Same guy dissing the gloves when Madiana fought
Reyes makes the best gloves and speed bags
Floyd wore Reyes gloves at the beginning of his career.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but all that talk in Mexico really does not mean anything. Some of the richest people in the world live in Mexico - he acts like he the only one with Money .... Hilarious!
name em
@Deus The Cartels... he needs to stop acting tough - he going to get slapped in Mexico
@@adonster1087 oh, you want to me to be 6feet under, really ... he goin to get slapped in Mexico if he opens up his mouth...
@Your GED TEACHER Hahaha...
cleto reyes doesnt need him when they had a fighter like pac always wearing their gloves...
Hopefully he could invest and make mexican boxing more big
This guy is good in business
This ain’t true. Grant don’t even have a website. Nobody in any gyms in America are wearing Grant gloves. I seen one guy with a pair on in like 2009. Stop it. You have to buy the gloves from Amazon or something
If Reyes can make a pillow version of their training gloves, It’s game over. I have 2 pairs of their traditional 16’z and the thumb can be a deal breaker compared to winning’s and grant’s, even Rivals. Make Cleto Reyes the greatest ever again Money May 👀
They don't need him they are already big
Cleto Reyes gloves make you want to punch correctly cuz if you don’t specially in your case you can hurt your thumb bad.
@@GamingforNostalgiaForFun they’re legendary for sure but no way anyone would rather have a pair of Reyes over Grants or Winnings.
@@Robher85 that’s the issue they’re strictly a puncher glove even their big training gloves. I kid you not, I feel better hitting the 200 pound bag with my 10oz Winnings and 12oz Grants over my 16oz Reyes.
@@MaybachSniper yea that’s true, I’ve never worn winnings probably cuz they’re expensive lol. I use the 18oz cletos and got used to it and love ‘em, but in the beginning I struggled until my fist got harder.
Some Reyes on Tank hands is a Scary FUCKING SIGHT
Cleto reyes gloves are my favourite ive always had wrist issues even tho i wrap my wrist real good but cleto reyes gloves do a phenomenal job of keeping your wrist in tact if you have wrist problems go for cleto
This guy with the fila hoodie just a plain CLOWN
Good stuff...I love Reyes gloves and bags...great leather...unfortunately, I can only afford ProTMex 😕
No worries man. I could only afford (n)Everlast at one point and 3 years after those, I got 2 pairs of Cleto’s. You’ll get some one day. :)
Why doesn’t Floyd make his own TMT brand gloves?
Because distribution and materials would be hard to start from ground up versus working with a brand that’s already established.
@@pluhs8422 look at what Eddy Reynosa (no boxing no life) & Trevor Whittman (Hayabusa) have done with the glove game and there new companies.
@@nastyasszeus I don’t think they’ve really done anything yet but make a good product everyone is still wearing either winning, grant or Reyes.
@@pluhs8422 both brands are usually sold you. Shit even tank wore no boxing no life in his last fight. You don’t think Floyd could start his own brand?
@@nastyasszeus he could but I think it’d be a bigger investment then intended it depends though he can but it’d be wether he wants to mass produce or make something specifically for boxers
Mayweather a smart business man! Biggest boxing glove company in Mexico. Now he needs to run up on Neverlast (with the exception of a few models).
Reyes glove are firm and compact.. But leather not the best.. Already cracking
Since win did Reyes lose clout. Punchers wear Reyes.
Latino fighters love them cause they use horse hair instead of foam etc.. KO gloves fo sho
elvis grant is pissed rn
Cleto Reyes gloves aren’t comfortable gloves. Grant Gloves are good but standard colors (Black w/ Red-White & Red w/ Black-White) will run you a small fee of $600 minimum. Winning Japan $420 (16 oz) w/ a back order of 4 months plus the international shipping rate of at least $50+ dollars so a total ≈ $470 😱!!!
