Hiya Pinac. So glad your up and running and doing this research and story telling' I believe that you were born to do this. It's clear that you work very hard to research and make these video/stories come back to life, The little lad who was murdered all those years ago is a tragic story indeed. You succeeded in taking us back in time to this tragic murder. Please keep on doing exactly this and with some good fortune someone in the world of documentary making will discover you. Please always be true to yourself and may you always walk in Sunshine. Jimmy.
Yes Jimmy!!! Great to see you pal!!! Thank you so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate that mate! I love doing these stories and love learning the fascinating histories behind them too, this content suits me to a T :) Im so glad you enjoyed watching this pal and thanks again for your kind comment, it means a lot :)
Hi Steve, I’m so happy to hear that you learned about this tragic story, that’s part of the reason I do this, to ensure these stories don’t get forgotten, thank you so much for watching I really appreciate it and thanks so much for leaving a comment :)
A terrible history well told. I was in tears over what happened to that 3 year old boy. the picture of Joseph Wren looked like the kill of Jon Venables. who murdered the little boy James Bulger. It's like a history repeat. Brian have told this story brilliantly, and i love how he got the town of Burnley from above. You so need to be signed up. you could go so far with your chilling story, this had me so sad.
Ahhh Roemary, The picture does look a lot like enables doesn't it (the boy who kills poor James) Thank you for kindly watching this story I really do appreciate it, and thank you for your wonderful comment too :) x
I've enjoyed watching your UA-cam channel. I learned a lot from watching your stories. I am hoping you are planning to do some more in the near future. Keep up the good work.
Yes Brian you are so right. I used to work for a Christian Charity that had a narrow boat project on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. THE Fishers of Men. There is lots of rich pre and post industrial history. Richard Catlow and significant others promoted the weavers triangle in the town centre. As a conservation project. Many former Mills etc were ear marked for demolition. He told me we need to fight to preserve them as they are the Pyramids of tomorrow. That was nearly 40 years ago we had the conversation. Wise words.
Made me cry to think i have passed this many times .and also i have been in that cematary a few times . God forbide if that was my grandchild in those times .
Hi Jane and thank you so much for watching this tragic tale, now whenever you pass, you will now know about poor little John, I really do appreciate you kindly watching and thank you for leaving a comment too :)

I'm from Burnley born and raised here and never once heard about this sad story 💔 but this was really interesting to watch but heartbreaking I used to walk though queens park where gates at bottom and always seems there's a cold spirit it's weird and this is across from where the bank hall car park is where you mentioned the little boy got killed.

Hi Lynn, thank you so much for tuning in, I really do appreciate it, I am so glad you enjoyed this story, it really means a lot to me :) it was such a sad ending for poor little John, but glad Joseph Wren got duly hung for his crime. Thanks so much again :) x
@@DarkFascination yeh just a pity you can't hang them anymore, but I find the untold story's the more fascinating, its like the cannibal of barrow I grew up knowing bits of the story but never seen it publised anywere until I came across your channel, that was a bit close to home (on my doorstep) . There's another 1 I would be very instresting in finding out what happened, its regarding "alfred barrow school in barrow in furness many years ago(1950-60) (it's now a medical centre) once was a girls school before that a boys only school, every year somebody unknown puts a sign on the gates of a little boy (fell) down the school steps and passed away. My mum used to go to the school she said rumours where he was pushed he was only a young child I would be interested to no what happened to him, I tried looking on the net but no luck, I have a pic of the last sign put up with a name & date of when he passed.
I agree, perhaps if hanging was still around more people would think twice before doing some of the things they do now :( I am glad I am able to share some of the more untold stories with you and that you enjoy them. The story about the boy and the stairs sounds fascinating, I wonder who keeps putting the sign there? Would it be ok to send me the picture you have? I am really interested in seeing this. I will also do a bit of research and see if I can uncover anything at all :) x

the way he describes the child as it and not like a human being and a innocent one who had no chance of fighting back....egh and knowing he had a child too how that would feel for someone to do such a thing to your own. and the misses saying he was depressed there's no excuse to justify what he done
Hard to comprehend that such a cruel murder really happened-surely you'd have to be insane to commit such a heinous act? There could be no other conclusion to this event -Henry Pierrepoint did what had to be done. A well presented recount of a very disturbing story.
I know pal, its shocking isn't it!! I agree, he must have had some mental deficiency in order to commit such a crime in such a way!!! Henry Pierrpoint did us all a favour. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment pal :)

hi brian, tragic story well told thank you, thought you might like some info on henry pierrepoint, he and ellis turned up at chelmsford to hang frederick foreman on july 14th 1910 a few months after hanging wren with pierrepoint as no1 ellis the assistant, ellis arrived first pierrepoint later who was drunk out of his head and immediately began attacking ellis giving him a bad beating, the screws seperated them and somehow let pierrepoint carry on as no1 for the execution.ellis when he got home wrote to the home office complaining about the incidet and backed up by the screws the letter was sent to the prison commisionairs who immediately wrote back saying this man pierrepoint must never be employed again. pierrepoint was never told he had been sacked and his son albert did not find out untill the offical papers were released in 1955, immediately after the sacking ellis was promoted to no1 chief executioner, and tom pierrepoint became a no 1 in 1915 with most of the work going to ellis, and that is how ellis became chief executioner.
wow Brian, that is very insightful indeed!! I did read about a fight that Ellis had with Henry and that henry was a frequent drinker, but I never heard it in this much detail. I do like Ellis, I loved learning about him for the story I did that cover him, This would have been a fabulous bit of information to have been added to that story! What a tragic story. Thanks for sharing it with us 👍
Thanks so much Dylan, I really do appreciate you kindly watching and taking the time to leave a comment :)
Hi there Tammy, its surprising what events happened all around us even in our own towns without our knowledge, I am just happy that I could share this with you and you now know story of poor John. How peculiar that you would sense a cold spirit when walking right across from the location where it happened!! Thats fascinating!!! Thank you so much for watching Tammy, I really appreciate it and thanks for leaving a comment too. I am only based in Preston, and cover lots of stories from around the north west, so keep your eyes peeled for more! :)
@@DarkFascination your welcome have subscribed to you I'm looking forward to watching more of your amazing videos thank you for this story this history should never be forgotten R.I.P to little John who didn't deserve to be killed.
Thank you so much for subscribing :) and agreed, these stories should never be forgotten, I am glad I can at least try to help with that :)
Wow just wow. What a heartbreaking & sad sorry. But at the same time remarkable in every detail. R.I.P Little man 💙💙 & thankyou Bryan for this brilliant video.
I.ll send you the pictures I have on your fb page, it's not much but I.m probly looking in all the wrong places
Another extremely interesting & sad video
Thank you again for making yet another fantastic video & telling the story
Not sure Joseph Wren went to trial in January 2010 🙈 but an excellent video
OMG Someone noticed!!! ha ha ha I honestly couldn't believe I said that, Gee Wizz!!!! I had so many facts and statements in my head I truly messed up ha ha ha lets hope no one else notices lol Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it :)

Yet another well presented but tragic tale. Thank you for all your hard investigation Brian. Loving the beard btw... so much nicer to see your handsome fizog without the mask..😍🙏🏼
P.S.... forgotten how much I missed your videos when you were working on your house.. thankful your back 🌟🙏🏼
Thank you so much for returning!! I am am so glad you did. I am also happy to hear you like the face and beard ha ha ha :)
The terraced houses near the canal some still there. What someone called them the barracks of the working class. Although it is fair to say they were favoured by the middle class in some areas. 😊
It's a crime. That this channel hasn't got at least 100000 subs. But it takes just one video. Then boom
Thank you so much for that comment, that really means a lot to me, I really appreciate it. I actually lost some subscribers when I posted this video last night sadly. But thank you so much!
@@DarkFascination We both know, that YT lost your subs. (prob) they are known for it. Just stick to your guns. I subbed to a guy called ' well i never'. With 365 subs. he posted once a week. then once a month. then i was like " here we go". then a video was grabbed by the algo. And he was like " holy shit". He's got over 200k subs. So don't ever leave us. or you will make us unhappy. LOL. GG, and really do love the work. :)
Thanks very much pal thats very inspiring and hopeful to read so I really do appreciate that! I am subscribed to that dude also :) lol and im defo not going anywhere i enjoy this too much! lol
@@DarkFascination I just hoped i didn't come across preachy. I'm not that. Looking forward to the next one. PS thought about patreon and such. Im subbed to reacters with less subbs than youself. No offence. Looking forward to next time. GG
Not at all pal I appreciate feedback and support like this defo pal 👍 and I have UA-cam memberships setup but I only have 2 members and one is my dad lol
oh what a sad tragic story brian , i had tears in my eyes watching this ,just heartbreaking it unimaginable to think what the parents must of gone through and poor baby john , and then to see that he didnt have a gravestone just finished me off i was sobbing 😢
Thank you so much, It was a tragic tale and such a sad ending for poor john wasn't it, it's hard to believe how he suffered, and also a shame that there is no memorial to his memory anywhere now, so I hope this video can remain as his memory to the good people of Burnley. Thanks so much for watching, I really do appreciate it.
I think you meant 1910 Brian, very much enjoyed catching up with your videos, been away for almost 2 years so i only just found you'd change from Pinac.....why has there been nothing for 8 months?...i missed your documentaries for far too long to find you seem to have stopped......I do hope you're doing something better but if you doing anything like this please let your fans/followers know..
Very interesting I remember in the early 60s a murder in my town no one was charged with it
Hi Gina, thank you so much and what murder was that? Do you have any more information?
@@DarkFascination the murdered happens in the 60s in great harwood .it was a old lady who had a sweet shop on princess street great harwood nobody was ever found I remember all the males in the town were all fingerprinted at the time the lady who was murdered was called Mrs barker hope this helps u if ur interested
If I can help u ask
Audit world needs you lar 🌟🎶👍💥
Love your video on buck ruxton you need to do more
Haven't heard from you in a long time i hope you and your family are ok we miss you and your videos x
the way he describes the child as it and not like a human being and a innocent one who had no chance of fighting back....egh and knowing he had a child too how that would feel for someone to do such a thing to your own. and the misses saying he was depressed there's no excuse to justify what he done
Anymore videos
Hard to comprehend that such a cruel murder really happened-surely you'd have to be insane to commit such a heinous act? There could be no other conclusion to this event -Henry Pierrepoint did what had to be done. A well presented recount of a very disturbing story.
I know pal, its shocking isn't it!! I agree, he must have had some mental deficiency in order to commit such a crime in such a way!!! Henry Pierrpoint did us all a favour. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment pal :)
Cant wait for the next 1

ha ha ha ha was my acting skills that bad? ha ha ha Thanks so much for tuning in pal and thank you for leaving a comment I really appreciate it
hi brian, tragic story well told thank you, thought you might like some info on henry pierrepoint, he and ellis turned up at chelmsford to hang frederick foreman on july 14th 1910 a few months after hanging wren with pierrepoint as no1 ellis the assistant, ellis arrived first pierrepoint later who was drunk out of his head and immediately began attacking ellis giving him a bad beating, the screws seperated them and somehow let pierrepoint carry on as no1 for the execution.ellis when he got home wrote to the home office complaining about the incidet and backed up by the screws the letter was sent to the prison commisionairs who immediately wrote back saying this man pierrepoint must never be employed again. pierrepoint was never told he had been sacked and his son albert did not find out untill the offical papers were released in 1955, immediately after the sacking ellis was promoted to no1 chief executioner, and tom pierrepoint became a no 1 in 1915 with most of the work going to ellis, and that is how ellis became chief executioner.
wow Brian, that is very insightful indeed!! I did read about a fight that Ellis had with Henry and that henry was a frequent drinker, but I never heard it in this much detail. I do like Ellis, I loved learning about him for the story I did that cover him, This would have been a fabulous bit of information to have been added to that story! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with me Brian :)
This is Lawrence, what happened are you still uploading videos? Bad news my wife Dawn is terminally ill and we loved your channel
Brian how are you? Where are you? I dont want personal details. Just want to know you and your family are ok as its been long time no see??

I am pretty sure there where no women on the jury in 1909
I think you may be correct, I have now checked and it seems as though women jury only appeared in 1919, thank you for pointing this out for me. Thank you also for watching I really appreciate it.
