    Your videos are wonderful to watch. Not shaky, great audio, and not overly verbose/off topic. I really appreciate the time and care you put into them, they are easy to watch and perfect when you want to know how to actually do something without the unrelated/off topic interruptions of many RV diy videos. Thank you so much!!!

    Hi Brian, You described having recliners in the RV exactly right, "A game changer". I wouldn't be without them. You will soon say how did we stay in the RV without them. Your a DIY'er after my own heart. You pay attention to detail. I even noticed you twisted the wire before putting on the wire nuts---Bravo. Stay safe, Lou

    We bought the same recliners for our Class C except non electric and in Toffee color. Ours were replacing a jackkife sofa that was incredibly uncomfortable. Our slide was not as deep as yours so we had to build it out to accept the chairs. My husband did an awesome job. It looks original. We used electrical conduit wall clamps on the front and back bars over a piece of 1" pipe to attach our recliners to the floor. We greatly enjoy your channel and look forward to your drama free videos and laidback attitude. We also plan to keep our 5 year old RV for many years.

      Hope you're enjoying your recliners. We're looking forward to many years of comfort with these. I also picked up a couple 2" conduit clamps that I'll put over the back frame once I'm done tweaking things. Cheers!

    Great vid as usual. We changed the recliners couch in our new Crossroad cruiser. They were impossible to operate and weighed a ton. We upgraded to a lighter model and easier to use. We will be getting tied of the dinette set next. It’s heavy and not easy to use.

    (Update) Bolting the Recliners Down: I secured them to the floor with a couple 2" electrical conduit clamps on the rear frame. There are a couple holes in the frame where I could bolt them to the floor, but I like the clamp on solution better.

      Thanks for the video and tip on source for the sofa, I'm getting ready to tackle the same. On the lighting, my class-C has a 12 vdc sconce lamps on the back wall, one on each side of the window, which will be above the back of the sofa. Perfect for reading or anything. It also has a 120 vac outlet on the same back wall so that part is also done.

      Forgot to add a question. Since my crappy dinette is the only other bed beside bedroom, when I lose that my son is out of luck when he's with us. In your opinion when you have them reclined all the way out are they suitable/intended as sleeping positions?
      I went to the site and found jackknife and pull-outs, but neither recline, that's kind of a buzz killer.
      Thanks again.

    My worthless jack-knife loveseat met its demise last summer. I ripped it out and replaced with with 2 euro-style recliners I got from RecPro. I ordered the recliners at 6am on a Monday morning and the Fedex van showed up Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. Could not believe the service and how well the recliners are working out for us. My regret not doing this 3 years ago.

    Hi Tito. I bought a manual loveseat from RecPro about 6 years ago. It is extremely comfortable BUT the material and stitching is falling apart. We only camp about 6 months out of the year on weekends and don't use the loveseat much. I thought it was a little pricy when I bought it but I disliked the loveseat that came with our 2018 Travel Trailer. I hope you have better luck with durability

  • @thomasmoseley6955
    @thomasmoseley6955 3 роки тому

    We installed the RecPro recliners 2 years ago. The material is already starting to split on the back of one chair. RecPro would not stand behind their product but wanted to sell us a replacement back for $150. We declined that figuring that that one would probably do the same after awhile. Instead, we are having covers made for the backs at a local upholstery shop with color coordinated durable material. I suggest anyone using RecPro products keep an eye out for splitting fabric and contact RecPro before the warranty is up.

    Those are some nice seats! better than what we have stock.....and one of ours seems to have broke, not sure what is wrong but it is stuck in the extended position. It might be a good reason to get something more plush, like those! Thanks!

  • @HighCountryRambler
    @HighCountryRambler 3 роки тому

    I swapped out the single swivel chair with a Rec Pro swivel recliner. Love the chair but first long trip it de-assembled itself as 6 screws fell out going down the road. I'll use some lock-tite and hopefully prevent further issues.
    Still planning on the recliner swap out, just need more lock-tite....
    Interesting how you take a RV and make it what you want. I've told RV salesmen over the years, it's obvious RV designers aren't into RV camping.

      Yes they are wall huggers. I extended them fully a few times and adjusted the position so they wouldn't scrape the walls/blinds. I haven't attached them to the floor permanently yet. See the pinned comment at the top.

    I've been looking forward to this video because I intend to install the 67" version of these recliners in my rig once it warms up outside. Originally, I was considering the manual version but the powered version is pretty sweet. I noticed they are 120v AC, is there a manual override in case you are boondocking and don't want to power up an inverter just to recline? It looked like you plugged in a DC transformer for each base so they are actually DC motors. I wonder if they make a DC hardware option?

    • @RVwithTito
      @RVwithTito  5 років тому

      I don't think there's a manual override or DC option (from RecPro). I run my inverter most of the time, so no problem for me. The motor runs on 24 volt so I plan on installing a 12-24v step-up converter like this (amzn.to/2CQwjep) so I can power it from my batteries. I'll be sure to post something if/when I get that working.

      You can also buy rechargeable battery packs for recliners. They are easy to install, just attach inline with existing cords. They can hold a charge for up to a week or so with moderate use but could recharge every time you plug in or from an inverter while you are parked.
      This is what I ordered. www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07G91FMLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Thanks for your videos. I have a Jayco Greyhawk 2007 that we are remodeling. I ordered the same sofa today. I am considering connecting the wiring for the chairs to my inverter so that I have power while traveling or not on shore power. The other thought is to do a battery backup system. Did you consider this. My understanding is they will not recline without ac power. Thanks, Larry

    Thanks for video. Removed and sold our sofa-bed. Now, to order recliners. Please tell me the RecPro item number you purchased. I assume you roughed in the 110v to the recliner area, did you video the AC wiring? Although I did note some comments on 12v operation, I am concerned about using only AC to operate the recliners. Can one manually operate the chairs without using the electric switch? Thanks.

    Hey Brian, can you tell me if those recliners are "zero clearance"? When you reclined, it appears as they are as the seat moved forward, but it's hard to tell from the video. How much clearance did you have to leave behind the head of the seat to allow them to move? This is definitely on my to-do list this summer!!

    • @RVwithTito
      @RVwithTito  Рік тому

      Hard to say. There are a lot of moving parts underneath. If you can reposition the fuse box you might find a spot that works, but it's doubtful because it needs to be in a spot where you can access it. Hmmm

    this is great info and thanks for doing this, Do you know the depth of your slide from the inside wall to the end of the slide? Mine is only 33" and RecPro's website states 36" is required. I am OK if I have to push it up against the wall when the slide is not extended and I would pull the recliners out when the slide is extended, I have to make sure the frame will fit on the slide when the recliners are pushed back to the wall, thus the reason for my question

      @@RVwithTito From your experience do you think the RecPro Recliners would fit on a 33" slide if I pushed the recliners all the way back against the wall. This would be what I would do when the slide is in, when I get to a destination I would open the slide and then pull the recliners out from the wall. I just need to make sure the frame of the recliners will fit on my 33" slide when not being used. My slide floor is above the main floor when pulled in. Thanks
