I have been looking for a review on this model that covers everything. Thank you this review has answered most if not all of the questions I have. Thanks again, here goes another £2400!!!!!!
Thanks Hans! This is the amplifier I've been saving my nickles and dimes for. Most of the information that I have seen on this device has been pretty shallow and not very helpful. However, after watching your video, I'm now sure that this is the product that will suit my needs to a tee. Thank you again. I really appreciate your insightful commentary on all of your videos, they really help me a lot. :)
Nice review Hans. You mentioned several technologies I had never heard of - proof that I am not up to date! Subscribed and looking to learn more about the modern side of audiophilia!
Very nice again Hans, informative and to the point. I am stuck budget wise with my excellent Auralic mini. It is good to seee other equipment though. Thank you.
Best opening question on an audio review channel ever. Philosophy level = 100! Also, I was able to audition this with KEF LS50s, and wasn't impressed. Maybe just a mismatch with hard to drive monitors, but for me, this combo was not great.
..You can control the naim by the smartphone's app and play on bluetooth speakers at the same time? For the headpones, the Meze 99 Classics are good for the naim? Thank you
Thank you for the good and thorough review. I have a question which you probably can’t answer: I purchased the Graham ls 6 speakers (eight ohms; 87 dB’s impedance; recommended amplifier power 50-150 watts) and for an amplifier to pair with them I am deciding between the Naim Uniti Atom and the Lyngdorf TDAI 1120. I would definitely choose the Naim except for the fact that the Lyngdorf has good room correction. The speakers will be placed in a large, normally furnished living room and I simply have no way of judging how much benefit the room correction feature will be. I wonder if there is some general rule that Could be applied in balancing the choice of amplifiers? Thank you.
This video is making my decision for my next amp and streamer harder. I had already written off the Atom as I expect it to be too light to drive my Tempo 25's. However, if it works on Scorpio's which are basically very similar with more drivers for the lower end this makes it a contender again. In another video you mentioned that Dirac has been a great improvement, which is something NAD M10 has over this device. Furthermore, I am already using Bluesound and have a preference to it. However, allowing a 3,500 spent be dictated by a 500 device I already own is usually not the best approach. Decision decisions. Can't listen to them all..
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel went for it and currently listening to the M10 v2. I did not audition the Atom as I found a good deal which makes the atom 800-900 euros more expensive. If I don’t know what I am missing, I will likely not regret it and I know I enjoy the sound of NAD. I compared the M10 against the c399 and c658/c298 combo. Key selling point compared to the c399 is that the m10 is available and the c399 is not. The c658/c298 combo definitely won in various areas, but obviously it is a different class. I still find it hard to believe that a small shoe box was able to even get close to it. Your videos have definitely helped me in this direction. Thanks for the good work.
I found this video very informative and it was presented in a no-nonsense articulate fashion. I have decided to buy a used Atom. I do have a question that I can’t seem to find the answer to: Can the Atom stream lossless audio from Apple Music or should I just go with TIDAL? Thanks.
Thanks for the review. How is the Atom with heavy metal/bass heavy recording? Is it punchy and fast? My current 89’ hifi is acting up and this Naim could be a solution to bring it up to speed. Cheers and take care.
Simple question: Since this is billed as an all in one unit are you able to control treble, bass, and sub from either the remote or the app ? My bluesound powernode 2 will do the first two but not the sub which is annoying to me as some songs tend to pound out the lows and I can't adjust on the fly without getting up and turning my sub upside down. So does the Atom let you do any frequency adjustment ?
It's almost two years since I did that review and I really can't remember, if I had researched that at all. I never use tone control and can set the volume for the sub on the sub itself.
I read it also has a sub/pre output. Does it mean in case we have an AVR we can go out with the preamp/out from the AVR to the RCA coax in in the naim and then the naim will output an amplified signal to the speaker + a sub pre/out for an active subwoofer?
It does not have a sub-out. You could have it function as a power amp for your AV receiver but then you have to set the volume at a given value to ensure the right balance between L&R and the surround speakers.
The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel thanks Hans. That wouldn’t be a problem, but researching i also found the NAD M10 which has a higher power amplifier output, more connections including a sub out, albeit lower resolution sampling. But has dirac live integrated. I suppose it does have dirac also for rca inputs instead of just for the signal that comes from the streamer and that would make it the perfect box for me, as it would double as a minidsp box to be placed after an avr without dirac. Thanks!!!
Hello Hans, thanks for the review. I have been considering buying its brother the Uniti Star for awhile now. Which is similar to the Uniti Atom except the Uniti Star has a CD-player/ripper and higher output level (70 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms). I have read that Naim amps need their own special banana plugs soldered to Naim branded speaker cables. Do you consider that necessary for this amp? Second, don't you find it odd this amp has a 3,5 mm headphone jack instead of a 6,35 mm?
I guess it would be hard to say. But would the Naim Uniti Star (or even the Atom) have sufficient power to drive my PSB towers which are rated with 91 dB sensitivity?
I will also like to see a review of the NAD Masters M10. I was considering the atom prior to it's release but it looks like the NAD M10 has more features such as MQA, Bidirectional Blutooth and DRAC live room correction at a significantly lower price point.
Hello Hans, do you recommend using the SOtM network player with the Naim Atom in order to enhance the sound quality or is it redundant to use a separate network player?
Glad Naim got around to sending you one for review. I’ve anticipated your review for a long time. Naim doesn’t disappoint.
Thank you
Where would we be without your excellent reviews Hans !
Excellent review that helped me to make a decision - many thanks

Excellent review of what seems to be an incredibly versatile music system. Thanks 🇨🇦
It really is!

I think the KEF's are so different in sound character that it indeed will be a poor match.
Perhaps an easier to drive, super efficient Klipsch speaker set up is where the magic lives.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel so what do you recommended for Kef, thanks

I don't know. I don't use Bluetooth.

Apple Music is a closed system. But Tidal is a fine alternative.
wonderful...!!! I've been waiting for this one for quite some time... Thank you.
Your setup two electronics would be nowadays around 2000euros, so naim managed to sound better for more or less the same money. Impressive.
This is a network streamer, a DAC, a preamp, a stereo amplifier. You naim it.
Ah, a Naim dropper
Thank You
You're welcome

How do you connect the Atom to your Rel subwoofer in your setup 2 since it only accepts banana?
I used banana plugs that also accept banana plugs from the side
I read it also has a sub/pre output.

hello sir, greetings ! nice reviews ,a little doubt does unity atom drive Martin Logan ESL fl.standers ? thank you ,regards
I have not tried this combo but my guess is that it will work. Just ask your dealer, that's why he is in the chain.

They use standard banana plugs (I did, anyway). I know nothing about headphones.....
Well, I would be needing an adapter to connect my headphones then.
I guess it would be hard to say. But would the Naim Uniti Star (or even the Atom) have sufficient power to drive my PSB towers which are rated with 91 dB sensitivity?
Could you tell me Hans could I connect the Untiti Atom, to say something like a Rega Elicit R amplifier?
Well, anything is possible but it's no likely combination.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Thanks Hans, I really appreciate the reply.
Do you have to use the Naim supplied speaker plugs?
No, any banana plug will fit.

No.
How does the naim atom compare against your NAD t758 v3 ?
that's an unfair comparison. Stereo, the Atom is clearly better.
The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel And then, compared to the NAD C 390DD with BluOS module?
Another great video!!. I'm a big naim fan i heard one of these last year, and yes I agree they are good.
