I really like this kind of product. We'll be downsizing in a few years and I've got my eye on the Uniti Atom and some of the NAD all-in-ones. Got a big laugh over the "Costco pickle jar lid" analogy. Great review. Happy to be a subscriber!
Nice review- I had one, and now have the HE and using the naim nap100 to power my speakers, Naim is so seductive. The interface is slick. You dont need more. I run bowers 703 s2. So good.
Had mine about 3 years now, love it, would recommend to any one , touch screen isn't needed, you'll control everything from phone or tablet, when you're watching TV you don't get up from the sofa and start touching the screen to change the channel.
Thank you Sir. I have the Atom and love it! I play it through Klipsch Heresy IVs. I recently connected it to a Prima Luna 200 tube amp through the preamp out connection and WOW just WOW!! Not a needed upgrade for sure but a sound that I personally really enjoy. Thanks again for your review and music lover input.
Interesting that you mention how the Atom sounds with a pair of Klipsch Forte. You also mentioned having additional components like CD and SACD. Take a look at the atoms brother, the Naim Uniti Star. It has a built in SACD player and not the 40 Watts amplification, but rather 70 Watts. Thats what i power my Klipsch Forte 4 s with and i am in heaven with the combination. Not to mention the Technics 1500C turntable attached to it. Add to that, you showed two of my favorite demo tracks when you showed Tin Pan Alley by SRV and You and your friend by Dire Straits. Fun fact: Naim and Focal promote their synergy, but you and I appreciate those Klipsch Forte 4!! Keep up the good work!
Funny you say that you might consider downsizing.I'm 67 and got rid of my separate audio gear and now I have a pair of speakers and a streamer/amp/dac (all in one). I am very happy and satisfied with everything. This to me is where a lot of people are going to be in the next t years.

Tossing up between this and the Formation Duo (I’m a streamer foremost). Two problems is the Duo aren’t upgradable and I’m not sure about the Focal Chora that comes with it here in NZ
You look about the same age as me, so your 90% comment on the spouse is spot on. But the younger cats out there having to deal with "modern wahmen" mostly won't get to that percentage with what's out there in the market. My son is about to go to college. He has had a better standard of living than I had growing up in every metric, but no way would I trade going out into the world to look for a life partner in his generation than I had to do in mine.😊 Plus, he's satisfied with just Bluetooth headphones ... 😢. Didn't it use to be a thing that the next generation was supposed to outdo the one before? 😞

Great review! For the LS-50 meta's, would you say that they were underpowered in any way? Scouring the internet, so many people think that at least a 100 watts on the LS-50 meta were needed to make them sing..
I have personally run my naim Unity Atom with LS-50 Metas and currently push a pair of Buchardt S400s (with the upgraded crossover) with it. Similar sensitivity and load. Granted, this is my "office" system (12x15x12) but I have never felt that I needed MOAR POWAH out of it. The only way I see it could possibly coming up lacking or run out of steam is if your room is on the large to huge size.

Wow... Doofus? "Lighten up, Francis!" Just trying to have some fun here. I own a Technics SU-G700 "Digital" amp. I understand the distinction. Some NADs and others are "Class D." Some are hybrids. "Or." I realize they are different. But, I do appreciate the watch, and the fact that some of our views aligned!

Those Technics amps are lovely ( the giant VU meters are things of beauty ) and I note that Sabaj have come out with a more affordable "all digital " ( except for the output stage ) amp, the A30, I think. Could be the wave of the future. In any case, I am really enjoying your channel. Genuinely fresh in a world of clones.

@@UnitedStatesofAnalog thanks. I’ve chosen Marantz 40n instead. It’s a safer bet for mentioned KEF speakers with 87db sensitivity and impedance falling in 3.2ohm territory. Also Naim Atom is very old device now. I think it came out around 2018. Their app has bleeding 1.5 star reviews on App Store.
Who the heck are you? I've seen many audio reviews and plenty for the Uniti Atom but have never come across your channel. How can you logically review the Uniti with that beautiful Mcintosh peaking out over your right shoulder? You have intrigued me with your banter and I think your style and "flavor" are right up my alley. Even down to the black shirt, big dark glasses, and.....well it looks like a Tissot watch. No I'm not trying to get a date, you just seem like a carbon copy of me. Anyway, I'm personally looking for a streamer like this and have been considering many options. At first it was the Uniti Atom but I'm leaning more towards the Audiolab 9000A with the Eversolo DMP-A6. The sad thing is I cannot listen to either, not even test the Uniti Atom. Here is going to be a really silly question, how would you rate the Naim, no compare the Naim, with your Mcintosh? Just curious if the price difference in your mind justifies the scale in performance. I wish I had the money to choose anything I want but life hasn't been that kind. However I have managed to obtain a pair of Wharfedale EVO4.4's for my 2 channel setup and I'm looking for something to drive them. Currently using a Sonos Amp which was supposed to be temporary. It sounds good but I know the speakers can do more. I need more power or better gear. What is your opinion if you don't mind me asking? Will the Uniti suffice or should I be shopping for a better amp? Thanks!

Now I'm shaking up you tube audio space with my semi-factual reviews! You sound like you might be my doppelgänger. I am hunk the watch you are referring to us a Timex Q Chronograph. And my glasses, if you must know, are by Jacques Marie Mage. Anyway, that beautiful Mac is one of two I own. That is actually a headphone amp but it has a 50 wpc speaker amp that grown in. The Initi Atom is one of the best things I've heard all year. But it's kinda an all in one streaming amp. Pricey but cool. I would encourage you to church out Technics' offerings! My SU-G700 is one of the best things I've ever bought. Haven't experienced Audiolab yet. Big manufacturers don't know me yet, but they soon will. Everyone loves them though! Congrats on your Wharfdal s. I want some Lintons but I already have too many speakers. I'm listening to a NAD c3050 tonight. It's 100wpc digital, has a vintage look and VU meters. Recommend, if that's your vibe! You'll figure it out... your smart like me! All the best!

Three inputs. Hmm. One definitely for the phono preamp which you would have to budget for with this system. Then two digital inputs. A little sparse. Without a phono preamp I'm not sure this really fits into the your channel given its name. And the Naim's emphasis on its digital/streaming functionality. I think there are less expensive options that check off my boxes. Especially since I don't need an all-in-one box. I want something more . . . analog. (You might want to reduce the reverb.)

This one’s on sale for 3600 here in Australia usually retails for 6k. I have dynaaudio evoke 30s at 4ohms would this be enough to run them proper

what do you suggest speaker for it ? the scenario is small room, desktop use and almost against the wall placement.
