You are 100% correct. Shmee is only interested in himself, therefor makes crap content! He's running out of friends faster than Usain Bolt did the 100m sprint!
Shmee is more into factory spec supercars and hypercars, he has little interest for modified cars and project cars. As much as he is a walking encyclopedia about hypercars, he knows very little about car mechanics and how to work on cars. He has a good memory so he just learns car specs by heart but I don't know how much he understands about engines and car mechanics. He tried to join the car builds bandwagon with his "project cars" (Clio V6 and M1.35i) but he doesn't get his hands dirty he just sends the car to specialists. And his idea of car mods is little things like installing a dashcam or getting wheels resprayed and he makes a 30min video out of it. Like @Leistung.Autohaus said, he is running out of friends with pristine hypercar collections to visit, so he visits guys like Tavarish and Hoovie but he can't relate to their collections too much so when they explain their different projects Shmee just smiles and agrees and has little to add. He's doing it only for personal gains. He needs to create content for his channel consistently because otherwise he won't be able to afford all those new Ferraris.
@@BOXOFDEMONS666same here man, I used to watch him as a replacement for blondie, where they would do similar content, but then Tim went all smug with not putting DDE logos and I was like the lengths he is going to not endorse another brand is immensely disappointing and I stopped watching.
As someone who grew up on Top Gear, I never thought that i'd get to see or hear who "the stig" was. And now, sat here in my 30s watching your videos is like catching up on 20 years worth of, "what did the Stig think about that car?" Great video. Love Freddy, love the cars. Many thanks for the years of entertainment and insight.
What a great video,it was no where long enough,I hope to god you’ll go back and have another chat,2 lads talking about cars with loads of knowledge of them, match made in heaven
Thanks for giving this young man your time and attention. He is one of the few young UA-camrs that I watch, he is the real deal and I think he doesn’t receive the credit he deserves for what he does. This is coming from an old car guy who is several years his senior.
How coo to have a legend stop in. On 1 level Ben is just a cool guy, but in our minds and hearts he’s the freaking Stig, the coolest driver we ever saw and he’s just hanging, he’s obviously impressed.
The Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 was called the GTO in Japan, I had a Japanese import. They weighed 1725kg not 1400, the old 4x4 system, rear steer and 3.0 V6 were a heavy beast.
@@Rocky-hh3yg yes eurospec. Drove there a few times from Devon to get romain to map my dc5. They had a few good cars there and if I remember about 3 gtos. I think the owner was called Ben

I really enjoyed this video. Not sure if it was something you'd consider but I'd love to hear some of the stories about when you were driving for the Jame Bond film.
For such TV legend Ben, ur quite down to earth and polite to everyone around u. Ur knowledge on driving and cars is top notch but if there’s anything u didn’t know or want to know, ur humble and listen to the knowledge of others. It’s great to see actually, cos most celebs think they have it all figured out. You’re on YT trying to build ur channel and u seem to respect all the YTer guy’s opinions, talents and hustle… Kudos to u, I’m enjoying watching ur YT journey and cant wait to see what u do in the future. 💯🔥
When I was there last week I drove the AZ1 and it was awesome!!! You feel like you’re doing 200mph but you’re actually well under the legal limit. You can definitely tell it has no sway bars though 😂. Oh and Mat’s RS6 is a pain to park on a lift 😬🤷🏾♂️😅
Hearing Ben talk about weapons just reminded me he was a member of British SAS and taught advanced & evasive driving, cool guy, you can tell he was SAS by how nothing fases him or makes him nervous, very calm " The Thinking Soldier " I think they're called
The problem with being a petrol head who loves you tube, it's like groundhog day, today Ben Collins gets an exclusive tour of Tarvarish car cave, only days ago I watched Shmee get a tour of Tarvarish car cave. 🤔😉😁😂👏👏👏🏴🏴🍻🍻😊
It always amazes me that most real, good racing drivers dont know very much about cars in detail :) Not to sound like i now better ! But i would think as a pro driver that drove EVERY sports/super/racing car in the world on the Biggest car show on earth to know every detail of it 😅 He's an awesome guy ,man!
i was in the middle of doing an exhaust and i needed some gold tape, i didn't know it's now called "Tavarish Tape".. That is the new naming convention.!!
The Saturn sky was based on the solstice and was badged as an opel in Europe , but was front engined the vx220 was based on a lotus Elise and was mid engined
A mate had a VX220 Turbo. It didn't have power steering either. No need. It was about the closest thing to a go-kart that I've driven. The harder you drove it, the better it got.
With Ben Collins in between full time work if you have another Car Trek you guys have to find a Stig type roll for him. Motortrend has Randy Pobst you need to have to have Collins, maybe do a Car Trek vs Motor trend shoot out
You're probably already gone. But, I highly recommend seeking out one of the many cold water spring heads near Orlando. Wekiwa Springs is near by. Gators don't come anywhere near cold water spring heads. Also excellent kayaking beyond the spring.
Hi Freddie. This is my first time ever making a comment, but I can't help myself after you said that you didn't get the VX220 in the US. Have a look for a pontiac soliste or a Saturn sky.
Ben if you are currently in the states, how about you find a 1983 Rabbit GTI and take it on a track and explain to younger people how fun the FWD hatchbacks of the 80s were to drive with their small tires, rack and pinion steering, thin doors, running out every gear, etc. Modern cars take away a lot of the driving experience, I don't think younger people today get an opportunity to drive a car that has any steering feedback, or the control of a manual gearbox. Maybe Tavarish could even race you in a vintage Porsche.
There were little hints that you were the Stig back in the day, the downhill rally race vs the offroad skateboarder, you were racing as yourself, not the Stig, I'm rewatching the series on Amazon
Ben definitely should hang around Freddy's area for a week or so and take a different car out daily because Freddy sure doesn't have time to run them through the gears as often as they need
yeah with the mitsu, did you guys in england get the dodge Stealth, as its basically a 4 wheel drive hot rodded version of that, although with the way the viper was handled it might have been a Chrysler Stealth, which sounds stupid but might have been how it was over there
No. The PontIac Solstice was also the Satrun Sky (which was then sold as the Opel GT). Front engined roadster, wheras the Opel Speedster/Vauxhall VX220 was based on a Lotus and mid-engine
