I'm knocking 40 and since the proper top gear went off air, all I watched afterward was UA-cam car content..... and if someone said one day you would be watching the stig, and Matt Armstrong on a side by side vlog, not only that to be as entertaining and engaging as prime time top gear was, I 100% said bs. Love it!!
95% UA-cam car content, 5% everything else that’s my viewing preference. Harry’s garage, the late brake show, Ben himself, Matt Armstrong and his dad, Tavarish, hoovie, Jack builds it, drivetiribe, autoalex, car throttle and so many more small or niche channels, keep it up everyone I admire your collective efforts to share your experiences with the UA-cam audience
You’ve got fifteen years to catch up with me, but I absolutely agree, most if not all of my car content comes from UA-cam now. Mind you I did listen to Ben’s books on Audible in the car, well worth reading or listening to them, very entertaining.
Mat's enthusiasm, and his crew (Dad, gf, others positive input), and his love of cars, I don't think he need worry about what to choose to fix. I could watch him repair a totaled lawn mower and be entertained. Great interview Ben!
I am subscribed to *many* Car - UA-cam - channels, all the well known ones i guess, but Mat´s channels stick out for several reasons. And for someone like me who suffers from severe depression for more than 3 decades, the positive vibes and laughter and fun they bring to the viewer is SO important ! I almost completely lost the ability to enjoy *anything* , but when i watch Mat`s Videos, i always have a smile on my face. He puts me in a better mood, almost like therapy. Mat, if you read this: THANK YOU ! For making me feel better for a while.
I've had alot of shite thrown my way over the last year, taken some knocks, before that, and was on a downer, a agree with you Matt is good therapy he's a super positive dude and full of energy, hang in there pal your not alone 👍
Matt has the greatest personality and attitude, it’s inspirational. He’s always happy and makes people feel good no matter if thangs are falling apart around him he still keeps that great outlook.
I can honestly say. That I’ve been a tele addict my whole life.I’m 61! But over the last 3-4 years I’ve switched to UA-cam more and more.I rarely watch tv anymore.I’m hooked on content like Mats,Chris Slix,Freddie and many many more. They’re a Petrol heads dream watch.Look forward to seeing the Lancia finished Ben,and then maybe you’ll do a late 70’s early 80’s Alfa or the early 70’s era BMW 2002 turbo
I would love to see Mat and his dad restore an old rusty classic, particularly if it was a car that his dad would have loved to have owed when he was Mat's age. Cutting out rust and restoring an old beater would be a different challenge and skill set.
The early Koenigseggs are very much a parts bin special. There was a crashed CCXR privately rebuilt in south Africa in 2011 and lots of Merc and Volvo parts found... I got to sit in it at the scrap dealer and even in its broken state still a phenomenal machine! The modern Eggs are probably a completely different story entirely.
Dude , you have to do regular updates on the Lancia please , I never really appreciated them at the time . But now you have got to admit what an awesome piece of kit . Mat and Co deserve all the credit and subs they get . All earned from grafting , trying and having a good mindset. A good inspiration for anyone. Car game is a very hard trade to earn money or be successful in . full of unknowns , unpaid labour , people who won’t think twice about shafting you etc etc . Main thing is guy’s loyalty brings trust and a bit of give and take is acceptable, just don’t take the ‘P’ out of people kind enough to help especially when it’s for free. Rather old school values that unfortunately can be a bit thin on the ground these days . ❤👍
Great video Ben, really enjoying your channel and the diversity of content you’re bringing us. Mat is a force of nature, he has so much enthusiasm and passion for what he does, it’s great to get an insight into what makes him tick, with some really good questions. Can’t wait to see you drive the M4.
I only discovered Matt a few months ago but i can see why as his content is just so watchable he shows everything all steps which is what TV doesn’t show, he has a winning format for sure no wonder he’s rich
£80k plus for a good Lotus Carlton now though. Awesome cars, I seem to remember a rumour (or fact?) that the UK POLICE were looking to have them banned from sale in UK. The fastest production saloon when they came out at the time. I agree though, a few classics might be a nice addition to Mat’s channel.
Updated UR Quattro would be cool, as would a Cossie. Matt’s positivity is great to see as a constant since following his channel for ages. I’d love to see him doing an SLR also, proper hot rod rocket ship. Great behind the scenes film.
I will become a Patreon of MA if he commits to doing a Ford Cosworth car. I love those things. Will never own one; but I still get lost in my childhood imagination whenever I see them!
It’s people like Matt, yourself and the guys on Drivetribe have kept me sane. I tip my hat to Matt for such dedication and his enthusiasm, got my vote.
Bro!!! U speak sense regarding electric cars. They are a passing phase that people will get bored of eventually. Doesn’t solve the problems it claims to achieve. Long live combustion 🚘🚘🚘!!!
Amazing conversation with Mat! He's such a great personality, and his positivity is truly inspiring. I didn't want the video to end! Well done for both of you 👌
Mat you should defo do some 80’s/90’s classics. I used to repair cars in the 70’s/80’s and would love to see some of these great cars come back to life. I myself saw a parked up 2.8i Capri on eBay. If I hadn’t become disabled after a bike accident 10 years ago I’d have bought it myself. Please, please consider doing something along those lines as it’s not only young men that watch you channel. Keep up the good work Mat Mick
Great video, keep them coming, better than most stuff on the TV, also, completely agreed on EV's, remove the engine, remove the soul, remove the whole reason car people love cars, stop gap, completely agree
Love @mattarmstrong been watching for a few years now,and great to hear he wont be working on soulless electric cars. His enthusiasm for his work coupled with the people that help, his dad, liam, chris slix the cameram man (cant remember his name)and also Freddie and jack from the States amongst others,it really is worth watching, even my mrs enjoys it and she's really not that arsed about cars!
Great interview thanks for doing it, he's a bloomin nice bloke. I didn't know who you were until you appeared on Mat's channel but now I know, I'll be looking out for more of your videos too.
Matt im a plumber own a business doing underground plumbing work ive fell in love with your channel and i love all your cars im my two dream cars are a mcclarin 720s and a lambo aventador and u have the same taste in cars as me wide body kits bronze wheels twin turbos like your two fav cars are my dream cars i love your black lambo with the orange turbos showing bumper delete i am hoping u bought that yellow crashed Lamborghini Aventador cuz id love to watch u fix my dream car
I own an EV but still enjoy watching MA’s videos. Had plenty of ICE cars in the past and always been a petrol head. Don’t agree with him as to the future of EV’s but will still keep watching his content as it’s great entertainment.
Would love to see you do an Escort/Sierra Cosworth ... Mk2 Escort, Lancia Delta/037, Audi Quattro etc ... however, I think a lot of those are now 'garage queens' .. less likely to be crash damaged due to being preserved. I think if one does crop up, you should definitely throw your hat in the ring to do one!
Harry’s garage, the late brake show, Ben himself, Matt Armstrong and his dad, Tavarish, hoovie, Jack builds it, drivetiribe, autoalex, car throttle and so many more Like smaller channels doing classic cars. Steviegtr anything garage doing TVR stuff. They are all great channels to watch.
Mat, id love to see some early 80's to late 90's cars on your chanel. Cossie would definitely be great content. Escort or a Sierra, Capri maybe, if you can find a Lotus carlton, Nissan R32 GTR, Porsche944 turbo few cars that in my opinion would make great content.
I’m a subscriber from matts channel and love his content and his whole team. I can say for myself as a petrol head I’m interested in watching you rebuild them from crashed to perfect so if you was to build a ford escort cosworth I would definitely watch it plus there my child hood dream car
Been a big fan of Mat's (hoping the Roller doesn't bust his bank) and really enjoyed watching you give the McClaren what for on track. New viewer from Perth, Western Australia.
Hi there great content, would love to see you behind the wheel of Matt's M3 , also although I love what Matt does day to day, I would like to see some 80's or 90's matchine on his channel, all the best
I love Mat’s content, however. He’s still learning, improving, and getting better at the fixing a Categorised car deal. Everyday is a lesson, however the help he had from Jack was invaluable. I’m sure many of us too would have cut an “inspection window” only to be told we did the worst thing possible. I think we’ll see a higher level of crashed cars on Mat’s channel and that I ain’t complaining.
While you're collaborating Ben, I think you should link up with Auto Alex and visit Micha Charoudin so we can see you lap the Nurbergring. Either in the same car, different laps or similar cars, same lap. That would be pretty epic.
Konnigseg would be the ultimate build, an original ccx would be potentially doable. There was a ccxr rebuilt in 2011, there’s some info online about it and lots of random parts on it. I’ve knocked on past 40 just hit 55 and couldn’t agree more with you
You’ve got fifteen years to catch up with me, but I absolutely agree, most if not all of my car content comes from UA-cam now. Mind you I did listen to Ben’s books on Audible in the car, well worth reading or listening to them, very entertaining.
He's just a great dude that isn't up his own arse . Love watching him and his dad 😊
Would love to see the stig on Carwow
Mat's enthusiasm, and his crew (Dad, gf, others positive input), and his love of cars, I don't think he need worry about what to choose to fix. I could watch him repair a totaled lawn mower and be entertained.
Great interview Ben!
He hasnt got a gf anymore he has a fiance
@@rbwarrior1212 Then that is even better and I wish them both the very best!
Cossie!!!!!!!!!! Yes Matt an escort Cossie would be brilliant!
Any Cossie would be great, especially the original whale tail one.
I am subscribed to *many* Car - UA-cam - channels, all the well known ones i guess, but Mat´s channels stick out for several reasons.

Matt has the greatest personality and attitude, it’s inspirational. He’s always happy and makes people feel good no matter if thangs are falling apart around him he still keeps that great outlook.
I love how the connections between all of you guys have become so fluid and natural. It's so great to see.
I can honestly say. That I’ve been a tele addict my whole life.I’m 61! I find the more UA-cam I watch the less I can stand the clearly acted and directed content in the TV shows.
I would love to see Mat and his dad restore an old rusty classic, particularly if it was a car that his dad would have loved to have owed when he was Mat's age. Cutting out rust and restoring an old beater would be a different challenge and skill set.
We absolutely need a Cosworth!
Yes a cossie would be amazing
Yess need a cossy on the channel. Growing up with fast ford, you definitely need get one
Great production quality! Well done Ben.
So much respect for Matt. One of the most down to earth influencers on YT.
Ya gotta love Mat. It's his personality that makes these videos so great to watch.
This channel is how I imagined drivetribe would be.
Dude , you have to do regular updates on the Lancia please , I never really appreciated them at the time . But now you have got to admit what an awesome piece of kit .

Magnificent video! Thank you both.
escort or sierra Cosworth would be amazing to see.. so much history and opportunity's to build new relationships
This guy is giving cars their life back, awesome.
Totally agree with you about ev Would like to see you do a Lotus Carlton
He likes a car with a story. No bigger story than 40 RA 😂
@rebelranter 100% fact. Was debated in parliament. The police got embarrassed when one (40RA) haded their helicopter it's backside. 😂
Updated UR Quattro would be cool, as would a Cossie. Matt’s positivity is great to see as a constant since following his channel for ages. I’d love to see him doing an SLR also, proper hot rod rocket ship. Great behind the scenes film.

Good point. Love your built. EV is nice for daily use, quiet and relaxing. But EV is expensive, boring, and hard to repair.
What a nice collaboration because you can't fake the connection you both have ... love it
First time I’ve seen your UA-cam channel. I’d love to see mat take on a classic! ❤
Bro!!! U speak sense regarding electric cars. They are a passing phase that people will get bored of eventually. Doesn’t solve the problems it claims to achieve. Long live combustion 🚘🚘🚘!!!
I've been watching Matt Armstrong since his early days on UA-cam rebuilding cars on his house front drive! He's 💯 a legend! 🚗🛠️
Great video Ben . Mat do a Cosworth 😳👍
This interview is great. Really explains what Mat does and his passion for rebuilding cars
Amazing conversation with Mat! He's such a great personality, and his positivity is truly inspiring. I didn't want the video to end! Well done for both of you 👌
Come on people! This man right here is literally the Stig! Let's get this legend to 1 million NOW!
Mat you should defo do some 80’s/90’s classics. I used to repair cars in the 70’s/80’s and would love to see some of these great cars come back to life. I myself saw a parked up 2.8i Capri on eBay. Yes yes yes to a Cosworth Mat 👌
3 door Cosworth or mk1 Astra GTE would be good to watch
Great video, keep them coming, better than most stuff on the TV, also, completely agreed on EV's, remove the engine, remove the soul, remove the whole reason car people love cars, stop gap, completely agree
Love watching the videos always make time for him great personality and love how no corners are cut keep it up 👍🏼
Beautiful Interview much appreciated. Thank you
Matt and his family and the team it rocks from resturant washing glasses , to millionare its brilliant it just shows .
Love @mattarmstrong been watching for a few years now,and great to hear he wont be working on soulless electric cars.

Brilliant video with two down to earth guys with loads of talent in their own fields, enjoying cars. Love both your channels!🎉
2 Great blokes, well worth watching anytime.
An old school classic should definitely be a good build (Cosworth / mk4 supra / Skyline / RX7 etc.)
MAT is one of the BEST youtuber to go to ! The rest of the youtuber that is trying to do the same thing as MAT, aint the same.
absolutely brilliant interview/chat ! loved it.
Yes mate escort coss would be good !!!❤
I enjoyed this video very much 👍... couple of the heavy hitters of the game right there, having a lovely chat, positivity all the way... cheers!🙏🤗
Ben, you and Mat are two of the most watchable people ever. 👏👏👏
Love the Stig !!
Great interview thanks for doing it, he's a bloomin nice bloke.
I didn't know who you were until you appeared on Mat's channel but now I know, I'll be looking out for more of your videos too.
I loved this one Ben! Every minute of it!

Spot on with the EV take! Love to hear it.
Agreed, completely spot on, word for word what I think
Much like you Ben (No.1 Stig), Mat is a legend who I've been following since the early TT rebuild.
Cinematics at the beginning with the other dude is Top tier!
This s best car show ever ,like the show to bits, kip it up
You know you've made it when the Stig calls you a legend 💪😎✌️
get an escort cosworth, you and tony in the video and everyone will watch it. tbh i'd watch you repair any car (apart from EV)
True
Matt, love to see you do a restoration of an older 70’s 80’s classic. Mk1 Escort Cossie would be perfect or a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina 😎👍
Yes on the Cossie! Or any other '80s-'90s rallycar
Great content as always and love Mat's take on Electric cars
Any old stuff would be awesome!!!!!
Escort Cosworth would be amazing, love that era of cars and to see Matt build one would be fantastic.
Great video btw.
Mat - such a nice guy - great entertainer with a unique skill he's self-taught.
Escort cosworth would be awesome and I think the views it would get would up there with his best cars💪👍
Ben, what an Easter Sunday treat, one legend and one soon to be, talking my language, thank you 😊
Would love to see you do an Escort/Sierra Cosworth ... Mk2 Escort, Lancia Delta/037, Audi Quattro etc ... however, I think a lot of those are now 'garage queens' .. less likely to be crash damaged due to being preserved. I think if one does crop up, you should definitely throw your hat in the ring to do one!

Cheers gonna have to look these up aha whilst I wait for Mat to upload 😂
Mat, id love to see some early 80's to late 90's cars on your chanel. Cossie would definitely be great content. Escort or a Sierra, Capri maybe, if you can find a Lotus carlton, Nissan R32 GTR, Porsche944 turbo few cars that in my opinion would make great content.
Cracking vid lads , really interesting to hear you both talking like that, more please !!
I really enjoyed the humility.
Ben is a great interviewer, as well as a great guest, he asks the correct questions.
Well don3 Ben for interviewing Matt. You two should do more together two genuinely nice blokes.
I’m a subscriber from matts channel and love his content and his whole team. I can say for myself as a petrol head I’m interested in watching you rebuild them from crashed to perfect so if you was to build a ford escort cosworth I would definitely watch it plus there my child hood dream car
Love these videos Ben, your interview and presentation skills are top notch.
Been a big fan of Mat's (hoping the Roller doesn't bust his bank) and really enjoyed watching you give the McClaren what for on track.
New viewer from Perth, Western Australia.
Guess with M5 just didn't get the James May fizz 😂 great vid 😊 Ben you're a natural presenter and awesome driver 😊
The Stig and Mat...hell yes ⛳
Fair play to MA for saying what he said about EV's. Not the most popular opinion right now, but couldn't agree more!
Hi there great content, would love to see you behind the wheel of Matt's M3 , also although I love what Matt does day to day, I would like to see some 80's or 90's matchine on his channel, all the best
Hi Ben and Mat. Totally agree with you Mat. Electric cars won't last and are a temporary fix. Well said 👍
Mat, Tavarish, Jack and Ben should do a 24hr race with a rebuilt BMW. Like the Top Gear episode.
Great attitude 👍
Well said Electric is Not the future 👍👌👌👌
must say all the video's really help me doing my own stuff and have the convidence to attack a project Thanxs Matt
I really enjoyed this interview a lot Ben. Well done with your content and channel. Much appreciation for what you do from Calgary, Alberta 🇨🇦
This was a great insight into both of you. Good video
Well said that man re Ev's , totally agree with Mat on everything he said !
Mat, Ben and Tony or Chris Harris again as the new Top gear presenters please !!!! Amazing work guys! Putting the Yanks to task ! Keep it up!
I’m loving Matt’s work
I was definitely disappointed when this video ended! Great work *Stig*
While you're collaborating Ben, I think you should link up with Auto Alex and visit Micha Charoudin so we can see you lap the Nurbergring. Either in the same car, different laps or similar cars, same lap. That would be pretty epic.
Hard Working Mat has earned the gift of a blessed life
Cossie 💯👌👍
Konnigseg would be the ultimate build, an original ccx would be potentially doable. There was a ccxr rebuilt in 2011, there’s some info online about it and lots of random parts on it.
The problem is there are several things that will be konnigseg bespoke so you’d have to see how cooperative they are…
I also want to throw the idea of an rx-7 in- I feel like the audience age is pretty rx7 appropriate!
