SUNRISE Photography TIPS At The Golden Gate Bridge | Image to Print
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- In this episode I photograph the Golden Gate Bridge from up above on the Marin Headlands. It involves a very early rise to hike up there and catch the morning light. I also talk about composition and other tips and techniques for landscape photography. I finish by looking at some Epson 3800 prints from my morning's hike. Enjoy!
SORRY FOR THE FOCUSING ISSUES AT THE END (my Fuji XT2 had a mind of its own)

The best thing I like about your videos is the end part where you show prints.
I like how you show the full process from shoot to print. Printing is something I need to start doing more. The photos and light were amazing as well!
+Nick Swisher thanks Nick! Printing is great and helps your photography. Just taken another look at your channel - some great new vids! Keep it up!
Hey Nigel! I was wonder and really hoping if there was anyway I could buy a copy of that last black and white image that you showed? I really fell in love with it and I've always wanted to buy a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge that I could hang on a wall somewhere in my room. It's such a beautiful composition and I really hope we can agree on something. Thank you!
The black and white is stunning, great work.
Great Video and Superb captures!!!!! Thank You
It's so great to see someone else's prescriptive of a place I've photographed several times. Motivates me to go hunt for different compositions. The prints came out great!
+Danny MacRostie Thanks Danny! I thought I arrived with plenty of time but ended up running around trying to video and take photos. Luckily I was the only one up there that morning... 2 Sundays on the run is a big ask!
Another great video Nigel. Cracking shot of the Golden Gate Bridge as well. Keep up the quality work! Oh, you're right about the number of frames taken on each shoot. I take less and less as the years go by. And I like the way you show the print of the image in your videos as well.
+Julian Baird - Landscape Photography thanks Julian! I love printing the photos!
Having just got into printing myself I know what you mean. Having a physical print you made in your hands is great. So very different than seeing it on the screen. I find myself looking at the details more.
Congratulations Nigel, awesome video!
Nice shots Nigel. I agree with your favourites. The overall shape cast in you B&W one makes it. Do keep it up!
+David Dixon thanks David!
Love the Black & White print - great work Nigel :)
love the black and white shot!! 📷👍
This popped up on my feed today and glad it did. I was 180 degrees from your location in September. I love the Golden Gate Bridge. I really enjoyed the last two images, especially the black and white.
Double thumbs up! I've been there a few times myself. Beautiful area... Good job.
+Elmarto7777 thanks 🙏🏻
Great video Nigel. I really enjoy watching your stuff, thanks for sharing your photography.
Hi Nigel! Fantastic pictures! A nice composition!
awesome photos. I love the blank and white.
Excellent b+w print. I love your work and I'm so glad I started watching your videos.
Great video. good inspiration for getting different images at the same location.
+Steven Lissemore thanks!
I enjoyed the video Nigel, and it was great seeing the printed photos at the end. I really like both compositions, and I think the second one definitely looks great as a B&W. Thanks for the mention in the video as well!
Thanks Ben - I fought hard in my head to go with something that didn't include the whole bridge.
Great video. I live In Napa and I visit these places frequently!
Cheers mate
You used to be a businessman that grew from nothing to 100 employees.......... i love you stayed that authentic and passionate, very enjoyable to see what you do and how you do this.
I say this because i know by experience how difficult that is (and i grew from nothing to 25 employees.....wich broke me down after 20 years....)
regards,
Ben
Cheers Ben 👍🙏🏻👊
Great video Nigel, I agree the B&W one does work really well. Hard fought though well done.
+Topsyrm thanks!
great blog Nigel thanks, and love to see the prints - maybe you can include a minute or two on your LR techniques also. great work, thanks
My favorite place to shoot! Lucky it wasn't windy that morning. The winds picked up yesterday. Great compositions! Thanks for the tips too :)
Thanks - it is an awesome location!
Love the B&W image. Really stunning!
Really like the BnW pic. Thought it was very strong. And good work with the Vlogs 🍺🍺
Great work nigel👍🏻
Really enjoyed. Thanks!
excellent - really enjoyed this
+Martin Berry thanks Martin!
Thanks,,you have given me some great tips,,,,you definitely have an eye for photography,,,,and i Hope that Many others will benifit from your good skills :-)
That was absolutely great
Thanks - loved filming that one! And some of my fav images
Thanks Nigel - I’m flying there tomorrow for a few days. Maybe I’ll run in yo you on a hill somewhere 🤣
So nice!
Great videos giving me great tips out in the field! Love it. I have done some similar stuff on my channel! Awesome help
Just stumbled upon your vlog and what a great find. I prefer Black and White image best. I think if you brighten the side of the hill a bit where bridge upright is and make it a bit brighter than foreground that would draw your eye more into the image and make it stronger. But what a great image to have taken I am envious.
+John Edwards thanks John! Take a look at Instagram - it shows this image in digital form.
Nigel Danson will do.
Great B+W Shot Nigel ! do you remember the settings for that shot ? And was it a single exposure? Thanks.
You have a very good eye Nigel!
Hi Nigel. Love your work. In this video, you say you prefer a grad filter but in a more recent one, you say the opposite. I like that over the years you have changed and are ok to say it but I’m just wondering what made you change your mind/ technique? Biggest take from me in your work is to slow down. Quality over quantity. Cheers
Hi Nigel - really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing. I've stumbled across this video researching GGB vantage points. I'll be in SF from the UK in a few weeks, would like to visit Slacker Hill. Any tips you can share? I'll be in a hire car and wondering what parking is like etc or if you can recommend a good site with details on getting there and around? Thanks!
very beautiful prints. I like them. Suppose they are printed on Canson Platin Fibre Rag 310g. It is one of my favourite Canson paper but I like Canson Rag Photographique 310 more. If you didn't tried it yet I really recommend it.
Please more videos like this :-)
+Peter Svacho thanks! It is photographique - maybe can't quite tell on the video. I love it.
binge watching your channel now :)
Brilliant!!! Thanks
Hi Nigel great vid what location is that in SF? Thnxd
Its the only time you can enjoy San Francisco without all the fools. I'm a native and if you want a good shot get up if not forget it.
Bahahahahahahaha 😂😂😂 I did'nt recognize you without a hat on!!
