I enjoyed this episode quite a bit! I loved the storyline with Mad-Dog and how Dexter fumbled the kill. Also, Judge Powell's son's killer being Brian Moser is interesting.

The reason why I believe it's Brian Moser is because he uses an ice pick to kill his victims, just like the Ice Truck Killer in the original series.

I really hate to say it, but so far the show has been really good so far, I'm just so scared if it's gonna get another bad ending, even tho it's a prequel, also i wonder if it can get multiple seasons as well, since dexter resurrection is getting multiple seasons😂😂

I don’t understand Deb, the show makes you wanna care but she comes off as unlikable I guess they are teenagers

She's a foul-mouthed little brat and nothing more. I can't rewatch the series because of her annoying purposeless cussing. In her first scene, I made the point to count the number of times she says "fuck." She literally said it three times in one sentence alone... or was it four? I can't keep up.

She acts a lot like the New Blood Deb who was low key annoying. But I understand and have empathy her because she lost her Mother and her biological Father is a lot closer to Dexter than her. That's why she has a messed up attitude and what shaped her into the Adult Deb. She is missing that Nuturing influence in her life and Harry can provide her that either.

I think she's a pretty accurate representation of a teenage version of Deb. Angry, smart-ass, wanting to connect to her father and brother and always being pretty low on the totem pole of the family hierarchy, at least from her perspective. When Harry screams at her about a dead boy taking precedence over her trip to the beach, she cries out that of course it does, but she had no idea that was why. (Harry didn't communicate with her) and how would she ever be able to compete with a dead child? I get her anger here, her father is a Homicide detective, her brother works with him, and she will never be more important than their job, (and to Dexter's Dark Passenger) which means she's left out in the cold with no idea why, and just angry.

@@snoopygonewilder Spot on!! To be neglected in your own home by the only parent you have left & a brother who can't show any emotions to what you are going through... I can't imagine how isolating that feeling is... It completely falls in line to the adult Deb we see and how even as an adult she was trying to make her dad proud.. Or feel worthy!

The car scene is similar to a scene in a another show "Obituary".

I don’t know if I like the ending, but I guess it depends on how story develops over the next episode. The acting of Molly brown was amazing and look at how she outburst in front of Harry and Dexter!! It must’ve been challenging for writer and actors considering it could lose seriousness if Dexter and Morgan discuss killing too much but overall I enjoyed the episode.

    Nah….Clark toooooo nice, ya know?
Like Dexter! He was traumatized by witnessing someone really close to him, at a very young age & ended in law enforcement.

I disagree about Spenser; I think he may very well end up being an antagonist, but he sent Laguerta away because he doesnt like or trust her, nothing more, and he already has had enough of her with the press. Apply some logic: if he was the one who kidnapped/killed the kid then Laguerta would be his best choice to take point on the case because she was way less experienced than Harry and his partner(we also know from the main show that she was never better than an average Detective and that dealing with the press was always her strong suit). Anyway. if he did it, dont you think he would want to hire the least experienced, youngest detective rather than the best he's got?

I have a feeling Spencer is just a crooked cop, but not a killer. LaGuerta may play a role in getting him replaced with Matthews.

Dexter needs to hurry back to the house and clean up the mess. He can make it look like a jogging gone wrong.
If the house is left as it is, it's going to turn into kidnapping/home invasion/felony murder case which is almost as bad as first-degree murder for Dexter.

If it were not for you I would not have tried to watch. It's interesting to learn the back stories, although Debbie really comes across as so annoying. I know that plays into the future. Screw up the original ending, what's the point in prequels? GoT, HoTD?
Edit: Perhaps I am too pissed off about how shows end, the plot armour and characters that just don't ever die even though they clearly should. It was a good episode, Dexter fumbling, a lesson learnt.

Debra Morgan is so rotten in this series. The cursing worked somewhat (I guess) for Jennifer Carpenter when she played the role, but not at all for this younger version of Deb. Just insufferable.

Yeah she’s pretty bad . And the Deb story lies , of trying to buy coke and drive her friends to the beach , I just don’t care. Her acting is pretty bad. Harry is pretty bad in this season , he’s not believable .
