In this game, the Lakers were over 43% from 3 as a team.
How do you manage to get beat with those two facts?
Through 3 quarters the Lakers had an A+ game while the Nuggets had a C- and were about their worst. How many 3pt shots did the Nuggets have that rattled the rim? Then the Nuggets were not flawless the last 1.5 quarters either, how TF they came back from 20 down is crazy.

Last night watching this game, I literally said to my husband. “The Nuggets aren’t even trying!” And when they started the. Second half I said, “here we go!” Everything from movement to shots, they didn’t do anything, as usual, without Joker at least touching and passing the ball!

To say they aren’t even trying is wild. It’s called making adjustments. The lakers figured them out for a half. Then the nuggets adjusted in the second half, also understanding Dlo was not going to make 6 more threes. Playoff basketball is always a game of adjustments.

Thirty minutes of great basketball doesn't cut it against Denver. Nuggets destroy a 20-point LAL lead in the last 18 minutes last night. Yeah, ridiculous, but supreme Denver defense and clutch play.
Scary thing is, Denver hasn't hit their stride yet. They're playing really bad. Once they figure it out and start hitting their shots, it's over for everyone else.

If you ask me, Minnesota has the best opportunity to take down Denver. KAT+Rudy is already a good set of bigs to throw at Jokic to try to confuse him, and they've got some good perimeter defenders to try to force Murray/MPJ into bad shots.
That said, Denver in 6, and the Nuggets are repeating for the first time since the KD Warriors. The fact that they got away with the absolute tomfoolery that was last night is ridiculous. 29/30 teams lose that game.

Thats the thing about the nuggets, i watched this game live and i never once doubted that they would win. 20 points down and i was sitting there happy, knowing what would come next. Only a few teams can do that

@@Loquacious_Jackson hmm....Nuggets are good at adjusting. Their coach deserves a lot of credit, and will have them ready. I think the Nuggets hit their playoff low going into halftime game 2. The coach said they had their heads down a little and looks like he got them out of that dip.

This was an amazing game showing that winners are made in the 4th quarter, not the first half. Your break down makes me wonder if Denver played purposefully weak in the first half so that the Lakers could not adjust in the 4th Quarter.
at my workplace we saying, "Give an auditor something to find that is easy to fix otherwise they'll find something that is hard to fix". Relating that back to this game, Denver may have chosen weaker guarding options in th early game so that the Lakers wouldn't make the necessary adjustments to solve the stronger guarding options in the late game.
When Denver made that adjustment of putting Kcp with lebron on the PnR and having Gordon on AD, I knew the lead was going to disappear. Those matchups pretty much blow up the PnR and forces LA to make an adjustment which to no ones surprise they didn’t. They started playing whoever offense which won’t win you games even if it came down to the last possession. That’s the kicker of these matchups between them, every time Denver just makes the better adjustment and LA doesn’t counter. If they start to counter those late game adjustments they can easily start winning games
Darvin Ham takes 40 games minimum to make an adjustment lol

The spread never dropped below -7.5 for the lakers despite them having a 20 point lead in the 3rd. What they were doing early was unsustainable and the Nuggets are inevitable

Look, I’m a Bron hater, not just as a basketball player, but as a person, and on top of that I’m a Nuggets fan. But KCP being pushed down and leaving Bron with an open 3 was actually the best thing that could have happened, even though it was the right decision by Bron to shoot it. That’s about as clean a look you’ll get and you take it every time.

I know a lot of people are hating on the lakers and vice verca. People saying LA will get swept in 4. But this series has really been my faviorite series compared to the others (Coming from a grizzlies fan) and I would hate for LA to get swept just because I do not want this series to end this fast. I want to keep watching this until 6 or 7 games. Imagine how crazy a game 7 would be between Denver and LA. The stories and the hype would be crazy. It probably wont happen, but still, one can imagine.

I think the lakers match pretty well, they just fail to close out the 4th. Apart from boston, i think lakers have the best shot at beating boston. In terms of personnel, I guess an active guard heavy team, or a heavy center team has a chance, like mavs or suns but in terms of matching up, lakers are up there, they just fail to execute the 4th

In a 7 game series In the West I think only the T-wolves or clippers can beat Denver. I think the only team that can beat Denver in a 7 game series in the east is the Celtics. As far as who I think has the best chance beating Denver it's definitely the T-wolves

The Nuggets definitely don’t look significantly better. The Lakers just keep folding mentally in the clutch because they don’t have the continuity the Nuggets have. The Lakers and their lack of coaching and overall adjustments is making the Nuggets look way better than they are. The Lakers had no business losing game 2. AD was unstoppable and as a coach you move mountains to make sure AD stays in rhythm to lock the win in. You don’t bench your best player late in the game in the playoffs because he had a few fouls. He’s not JJJ or KAT he can play through it. They failed at the game plan. They failed AD most importantly. Lebron taking over late is very questionable to me because he wasn’t having anywhere near the success AD was.

Face it, the Lakers are a poverty franchise now. Their owners are some of the poorest owners in the new NBA where franchises sell for billions of dollars.
The NBA made the call that the Lakers didn't win game one so it is more profitable and bring in better ratings to fix the game two in Denver's favor assuring a sweep. The refs made that happen.
Lakers had a plan:
They knew they were good enough to get a play-in spot and rest their old and broken stars and limit their minutes. Then they would go 100% in the playoffs and take the Nuggets by suprise. What they didnt account for is just how relentless and consistent Denver is and now they are down 0-2 and left wondering if they made the right choice.
