Horno=oven, so if its called Hinorno its oven baked, dough is masa in not sure if batter can also be called masa, im a 62 year pinoy who used to help my aunt in bikol who is a baker and a "food trades" instructress😊
Great timing. I'm actually waiting to get my clavicle surgery after my car accident on Sunday. Your videos from 2 years ago really connect with me right now

It’s like pandecoco.Inorno is like putting the bread in an oven but instead the bread are put under a charcoal or above the charcoal. In their case, they use the coconut husk. In Northern Luzon, we use the charcoals to cook them. But in the old ways, they have a small cave and they put a lot of charcoals.

The pancake is called SALUKARA….hinorno means moulded batter . I’m a subscriber from Sulat Eastern Smar , glad you and Bret explored our place .

Horno=oven, so if its called Hinorno its oven baked, dough is masa in not sure if batter can also be called masa, im a 62 year pinoy who used to help my aunt in bikol who is a baker and a "food trades" instructress😊
Hinorno = cooked in an oven. Horno = oven in Spanish.
Horno has nothing to do with Tagalog "hulma".
Oil Free? Gluten Free?
Root word "horno" which means oven.
Hinorno = Oven baked
Not hinulma.
Great timing. I'm actually waiting to get my clavicle surgery after my car accident on Sunday. Your videos from 2 years ago really connect with me right now

Thanks for visiting Samar, my birthplace is on the western side, Calbayog.
agree, "hornoan" is usually a wood fired portable clay oven. but it seems they have evolved into using tin cans to cook it now.

It’s called salukara. Tuba is used as a yeast that’s why it taste citrusy and that is best pair with coffee! Super apir 🤘
Thank you kulas and Brett visiting my home town
It's called salukara. The citrus taste is the vinegar from tuba as a riser instead of baking powder. Miss ko na ang Salukara. Taga Samar ako.
Thats the same rainbow Mikegyver in Cateel saw!❤
Beautiful spots.🙏
It’s like pandecoco.Inorno is like putting the bread in an oven but instead the bread are put under a charcoal or above the charcoal. In their case, they use the coconut husk. In Northern Luzon, we use the charcoals to cook them. But in the old ways, they have a small cave and they put a lot of charcoals.
In other places, especially in Tagalog, they call it PAN DE COCO. Bread with Coconut Fruit and Little Sugar inside.
