You really don’t want to move to CT, job opportunities are almost nonexistent, the weather is horrible, average rent for a studio apartment is above $1500 per month without utilities. Electric costs for units under 1000ft is about $200 per month plus the extra fees, almost everything is closed down by 8 pm
TAX TAX TAX get ready for it. Born and raised in CT and so happy I moved to FL. Tax on the House over 10k a year., Income Tax, Property Tax on Cars, Boats Motorcycles, and Campers. Don't forget heating your house all winter. I would never move back. I do go back to visit but that's it.
Courtney, just a few things Metro North goes into Grand Central not Penn, Amtrak goes to Penn Station, as for buses yes CTtransit is the main bus provider as well as transit districts, like greater bridgeport transit in Bridgeport or HARTransit in Danbury
I am interested in getting my real estate license in CT and stumbled upon your channel any tips/or advice you can share about classes/ courses, books to read would be great help!
Slightly higher unemployment rate? In New Haven it's TWICE the national average. New Haven has big city crime, big city poverty, big city drugs, big homelessness, big city unemployment, big city taxes, big city traffic, big city rents, and big city pollution, and it's not a "big city". I've been to places that have similar populations, and they don't have half the problems New Haven has. And I've seen New Haven run things into the ground that any other place would have bent over backwards to keep. The food is good, but you have to step over the homeless and the dead to get to it. I heard for so long I heard the screeching of the Mr. Arts Town the former flamboyant mayor John DeStefano as he flailed his arms proclaiming "Oh, there are so many restaurants", that I honestly I got tired of hearing it. You simply can't afford to eat out all the time, and in the words of Jerry Seinfeld I am not a foodie. Just eat it and shut up.
@@Yrogerg2 Yes, he lived in Hartford and wrote many of his greatest works there. He also lived in Redding Connecticut, which is where he eventually died. But he was not born in Connecticut he was born in Missouri.

Mark Twain was born in Missouri not Connecticut
But he did have 2 residences in Connecticut, one in Hartford and the other in Redding.
