Lily Zhang Vs Mia hirano Uncle pop world cup..... Adam: This is the point of the tournament...I might have pulled my back muscle by just watching this....... Adam your level of commitment towards commentary is unmatchable. And you are one of the important links for the popularisation of Table tennis.
PUNIT SHARMA thank you so much!!! I’m really glad you appreciate the details and thank you for validating my efforts. I appreciate your kindness and encouragement 8>D
I saw her in person in Shanghai, and I was so confused as well. I saw her change grips and I thought she was messing around at first with the claw grip HAHA, but it truly is special!
I think Adam plays seriously but dont take himself seriously ...he is not there to beat absolutely his invités + his double hat as Ittf : entertainer. Though i understand very well your comment.
Wow. National champion in one sport, and also a superb talent in another, aged just 11? Unbelieveable! She must've been gifted with some super powers by the gods...
she must be under parents pressure without childhood happiness...the girl is sad and fearfull..not happy kid..my son is the same age and his look tells the difference between european/usa and asian children....
The kid really have a good footwork!! Very impressive! Those half step can make her move from left to right and vise versa really fast! and hes doing it consistently.. your snake will have a hard time passing this girl. Her boxing training really helped her ping pong game significantly! Footwork is the foundation of good boxing and she's nailing it.
he didn't do enough under the table wiggly's..that's his most skilled shot..has to work on some forehand loops too and some tricky serve return slices for easy points :))
I played mainly hs grip, I tried and invented a different grip similar to this video(which is called the claw here) a long time ago when I was practicing ph style but never mastered it as this is a very unorthodox grip which is a mix of hs and ph grip but when I see this video today, I am glad to see someone else performing and mastering this grip at very young age as an alternate style to ph grip.
@@Resistor-u7e I saw the exact opposite. At 4:00, the ball went straight down after hitting the table so that was the side. At 4:43, the ball bounced off at an angle so that's the edge.
A force to be reckoned with in the near future , and you (Adam) Sir have some serious skills , I always enjoy your videos ,who cares who wins ,thanks keep it up
That is indeed a penhold grip...but it's for penhold chopper. This grip was first ever used by Zhang Xielin (born 1940), a Chinese table-tennis player. He was active in the 1960s and used this penhold style. Yuna just changed a little angle to fit her hand for the attack when she grabs the racket, but the grip style is exactly the same to Zhang. Nowadays, we can't see much more people who are using this penhold grip. Instead most of them are using shakehand grip. Furthermore, chopper style is even becoming less popular.
@@saurabhagnihotri1267 All my knowledges are from China. I read some excellent table tennis books published in China back in 90s, which you couldn't find them anymore. Furthermore, there are some amazing and interesting topics you could find out from some Chinese table tennis forums if you can read Chinese. E.g. there are some advanced secret techniques in China that you could never imagine.
@@classicleon I only know "ni hao" in chinese but I am good with technology. I could translate the text. Do you have any recommendations on which forms I could follow about penhold technique?
@@saurabhagnihotri1267 My favourite forum is ipingpangDotCom. however it seems dead in Oct. My first recommendation is Table Tennis template of Baidu Tieba. It's for general TT discussion, not a penhold-specific forum though, you can still find a lot things there. The link is forbidded in UA-cam Post, Sorry for that. So please search "乒乓球吧" using baiduDOTcom as the search engine for the forum. The second is cnpingpangDOTcom where you can find penhold template. Neither I often use the site, nor I am a penholder. But I believe you can still find something useful.
Love your videos! Always fun to watch! Im going to Vietnam soon and I'm a very decent player with a pro paddle and everything and I was wondering where I could find some of these table tennis clubs that you always show in your videos. Thanks!
Hoa Lư table tennis club (2nd flr in Hoa Lư stadium) if you go to Hcm city. Or 4t club (in trương quyền school) but only after 4 pm mon to fri, sat and sun
It's very rare to see a talented young player who hasn't been coached to play an orthodox game. The "Claw" is a breath of fresh air. She might have beaten Bobrow more if she had been tall enough to do drop shots.
I know it's just a silly friendly game, but I'm pretty sure both of those "edges" were actually side. I replayed both in show motion and the ball was hit from outside the table and went straight down after contacting the table. Not sure how the umpire could have missed that...
@Johannes Wu what are you talking about? It has nothing to do with the ball going over the net. Adam litteraly played a ball around the net that game and it counted
I think you should add your comment Adam, pretending to see it "live" for the first time, it would be fun for you and awesome for us ;) ("Ooh the snake! Devious and sneaky this Bobrow!")
(At 4:22), Bobrow begged for the point, but Japanese Umpire sided with Ojio, Adam failed the charm. Yuna improved so much, we did a video where in 2nd grade final, she beat Harimoto, and became Japan champion, ua-cam.com/video/jLPThAWFaHc/v-deo.html
asiandrum I needed it and felt strongly that it was my point. The umpire is not Japanese (fun fact) simply doing her best to help make the match better. I let it go because I thought... I don’t want to be jerk and it’s not super important to. I am always working on “choosing my battles.” I hope you enjoyed the video 8>)
At about 4:05 if you slow it down and play it at 0.25x speed her shot didn’t hit the table in a way that it should count as a point the only reason the spin changed was because it hit one of the bottom supports of the table
This the litteral represantation of " no matter what you do there will all ways be an asian kid who's better than you "
Yeah but Adam wasn’t playing seriously
K K I’d beg to differ
K K timestamps please
Adam's aim wasn't very good that day, I assume that he wasn't playing pretty well and also not seriously at 100%

He can't be, he was too laid back, is twice the size of the *"Hoodless Claw,"* and deffo wasn't playing serious.
Adam is there to make everyone else better, if you had a brain you would know that adam doesn't need to play such high shots all the time
