    The actor playing the chef is known (or was known during my youth) as an extremely good martial artist that plays in movies, much like Jackie Chan, in Asian countries. In one movie, he also played the role of Jackie Chan's big brother (although the big brother was acting like a child, so the younger brother, Jackie, was the one who was caring for him).

      I LOL'd at the description but having seen this movie I knew how it happened. I did try and rationalize how it could be true on a technicality. Like, the fish was already dead to begin with so he wasn't actually 'killing' it.

    For anyone's who hasn't tried the fish still being alive. You can try Sashimi with the head still moving in Japan. Its expensive though...

    Poor Fish! Being cooked and eaten while still being left alive is legitimately one of my biggest fears after watching The Bad Batch, The Walking Dead, etc.

    However that poisoned seasoning I don’t think that was salt, it’s too fine to be salt, in my opinion it’s monosodium glutamate widely used in Chinese cuisine. One of the most famous brand of glutamate that is extracted from algae is Ajinomoto from Japan.

      im not denying that it is glutamate, or it is definitly salt. But salt can be fine like seen. I can buy them in stores 5min away

      @@c1rcles438 My uncle who is the chef of my Chinese restaurant would also do the same, instead of adding salt, pepper or whatever at the beginning, he would add a touch of glutamate at the end of the cooking process just to bring out the umami flavor from the dish. If the subtitles of the movie talk about salt, I think it could be probably a misinterpretation, a lost in translation.

      There's plenty of the mispronounced Chinese names in his other videos. It isn't disruptive to the story telling though since the pronounciations are still consistent throughout every video.

    Sammo Hung was super popular as Jackie Chan’s co-star in many early comedies, but he became much more serious as he progressed in his career. It suits him.

      i am totally serious... do you really think/ believe that she is the only person one who is capable of running the restaurant?
      a lot of people actually takes their loved ones with them, when they are going on a business trip. and didn’t you se the “ next to forcing. so i actually didn’t say he literally forced her to do anything, i just used the word since i wouldn’t think of a better word... i could also have said he was “abandoning” her, and leaving her with the the burden of running the restaurant. that doesn’t mean he literally abandon her 🙄
      so think of it this way. he was going the travel all over the world to learn about food. can that be done in just a month or two? no it might take years before he returns.. and think about all of the amazing places he will visit/see, the new cultures. and he might meet someone famous.. that would truly be a one in a lifetime experience. so why not share it with her..
      but yeah you just want her to take care of the restaurant while he is literally having the time of his life training all over the whole world..
