This title is really encouraging, i started skating a month or two ago and i've been feeling really demotivated with my progress, but you just got me to realize that i'll get there when i get there and the time will be all the more valuable for it
Getting better at skateboarding takes a lot longer than you imagine in the beginning. Try not to focus on one trick and make sure you feel good on the board. Also try to skate at least 3-4 times a week if you want to progress. Once a week wont get you far. Skating with people that are better than you can help a lot!!
Ya I was around skate boarding since I was like 5yo n I didn't land a kick flip till I was 11 .. everyone is different tho , I know some kids who can tre flip
This old man here say it not the tricks it the style you bring expressing your soul. Skateboarding is a passion you what to do. A true skater knows how not to give up even in pain to land that trick. I never mastered the kick flip. I moved on in life nollies got sweeter. My ollies got fatter. I built a style around not knowing I could land a flip all the time or at all. But hey go out and skate and have fun smile and laugh. Don't forget boys and girls if your the smartest or best in the room your in the wrong place. Be humble to teach and be wise to learn.
I also needed a very long time, like abt 3 years to stand my first kickflip. One week after landing it I got diagnosed with spondylylosis and a bone marrow hematoma. That was yesterday. I really hope that I will be allowed to skate again but probably for me that’s the end of skating. Sometimes we take things as for granted until they suddenly aren’t posisible anymore, so guys, don’t do tricks you hate for years but just go to the park and find your own style
I didnt learn how to kickflip for 7 years. I ended up learning kickflip, heelflip, pop shuv, 50-50, and boardslide. After eating shit multiple times decided i just like to ride in general the tricks aint for everyone
There’s nothing more satisfying than FINALLY landing a trick you’ve been working on literal ages. Congrats man. Personally, a heelflip was the first flip trick I landed. 17 years ago and that memory is still etched into my mind. Trust me when I tell you this: you’ll remember that moment for the rest of your life. Keep at it bro… …..and oh yeah, DO A KICKFLIP 🎉😂
This is honestly hella motivating cuz I've been skating for 2 years and I can't kickflip but in all the skate progression videos people learn it in like the first month so this is like a great reminder that everyone progresses at their own pace and hard work always pays off
Hell yea dude! I just recently skate boarded a bowl for first time after 7 months of skating I had a blast. Loved seeing that satisfaction when you landed it good job!
Thought I was the only one 😭 so much other fun stuff that came easier so I never just stuck with it and learned. This is insanely motivating thank you!!🙌🙌🙌
So I struggled also with a kick flip when I was 13. Like you I struggled to get the back foot on. A guy rocked up to me and told me: don't try to land the kick flip, try to get only your back foot on. I did that and landed my first kick flip hours after his tip and can still do one 17 years later. This tip helped me so much. As soon as you see a pattern when struggling with tricks, try to break it deliberately and in small steps.
Well done - funny thing is, that kickflip made me quit skateboarding for a while. I was capable of fakie 540 big spins and 360 flips pretty consistently, however kickflip was one "basic" that I just couldn't get for a few years.
Congratulations my dude! Just try to keep in mind EVERY SINGLE time you try your making micro adjustments and dialing it in. Not trying to throw shade but, the pants be hindering your process. 0.o. Again Congratulations yo.
I was looking for this comment, I see him landing behind the board at every attempt and was wondering what was missing to land on it. Pretty sure I had the same issue as a kid trying to land kickflip/heelflip
I’ve taught myself how to kickflip 7 times in my life. I learn them and get them like I’ve ever landed a fakie backside kickflip in a game of skate and it was clean but then next week I lose them. Now I’m almost 21 and I’m scared of hurting my ankles since that’s all I’ve done growing up. I’m just looking for someone in the same boat as me to give me some motivation to get them back.
i learned to varial kick flip before i can even kick flip but idk keep my body centered w the board while doing a kick flip is hard, and doing that x motion with ur arms while bending down is so uncomfortable for me so maybe today i’ll start my journey of landing a kickflip 🤷🏽
I have sk8ted since I was a pup and haven’t been on my deck for about 10 years due to injuries and I got the deck out the other day and did some kick flips and some Ollie’s on the grass for about half a hour and 2 days later and the top of my legs still feel like chuck Norris has been booting me like a punch bag 😝 well done to the dude in the video it’s a great feeling 👌🏻
yeah your just like me man, Some people in 4 years would be kickflipping onto handrails while I can barely ollie. I think its time for me to hang up the board, im getting to old anyways.
Camera man was finally freed after 4 years waiting for this moment
maybe get baggier pants it will help you stick the landing cuz u will fall slower (the pants act as a parachute)
the twin cannon jncos work for me
😂😂 the weirdest skate advice I have ever heard
@@timolawuyi1501 u wanted to say "most useful"
@@lxneleszxn it sounds like a cartoon advice, but you seem serious about it, I want to believe it would work 😂
@@timolawuyi1501bro you don’t understand. All pro skaters use it so it works. Simple at that
This title is really encouraging, i started skating a month or two ago and i've been feeling really demotivated with my progress, but you just got me to realize that i'll get there when i get there and the time will be all the more valuable for it
Just use this time getting comfortable on your board. The tricks will come eventually.

Skating is HARD. You gotta WANT to progress… getting upset/down on yourself/frustrated can damage the process…. Take your time and enjoy yourself

Congratulations! Its also really nice how supportive your friends are!

Dude I saw the title and then watched and I gotta say, awesome work. Good sticking with it, nice taking the wipeouts too.
Inspiring!!! I've been skating for a few months (effectively) and I'm looking forward to this moment!
Title is really relatable, been on and off skating since i was like 8. Im coming up on 17 and still havent gotten a proper kickflip

Man you inspire me to keep practicing, good video
Hyped on you dude! keep going! awesome vid!
So I struggled also with a kick flip when I was 13.

I'm old now but back in the day kick flips were always a struggle. Varial flips were easier for me.
keep going brooo!!!!
Congrats bro!
Took me 22 years, respect u bru
good shit bro, I still cant even ollie confidently after skating for awihle
0:30 good advice and maybe put tighter pants on, to see the board better. Anyways, good kickflip, good luck with your skating!
Yeah but style points though

Clean af bro keep grinding 🔥

Nice! 🤘🔥
Heel flip might be a easier option i learned to heel way before kick but anyway practice makes perfect keep on keeping on
Tighter shoes and pants that fit will help you immensely and be way safer! Skate or Live bro! Great video! Subbed and Liked!
Congratulations my dude! Just try to keep in mind EVERY SINGLE time you try your making micro adjustments and dialing it in. Not trying to throw shade but, the pants be hindering your process. 0.o. Again Congratulations yo.
Congratz.
kickflips looking good all you need to do to fix it is push yourself foward with the board
I was looking for this comment, I see him landing behind the board at every attempt and was wondering what was missing to land on it. Pretty sure I had the same issue as a kid trying to land kickflip/heelflip
Putting wax on your tail really helps
4 Years without changing outfit is wild
Bro my kickflips literally look identical to yours. Same problems, Not enough flick, one foot etc. (been skating for 2 years)
nice board bro i bought the same one
That's what's up 👍 keep skating

Don't angle your front foot so much, that helped me get really good flicks. My feet are parallel to each other when I setup foe kickflips
FUCKING CONGRATS M8!
bruh… 4 years?? I thought I had no potential because it took me 9 months to learn kickflip, now I realize that each person has their own time.
i learned to varial kick flip before i can even kick flip but idk keep my body centered w the board while doing a kick flip is hard, and doing that x motion with ur arms while bending down is so uncomfortable for me so maybe today i’ll start my journey of landing a kickflip 🤷🏽
Hell yeah bro
Yooo you go to STIX tooooo!!!!
that's the best feeling
Them parachutes on your legs holding you back.
You need to stand more square to the board, so your shoulders are in line with the deck. It’ll help a lot.
Doing tricks stationary is hard mode, you gotta roll I promise
I have sk8ted since I was a pup and haven’t been on my deck for about 10 years due to injuries and I got the deck out the other day and did some kick flips and some Ollie’s on the grass for about half a hour and 2 days later and the top of my legs still feel like chuck Norris has been booting me like a punch bag 😝 well done to the dude in the video it’s a great feeling 👌🏻
+aura at the end with the clap
Is that a stix board? My local stix closed 😢
Hellll yeahhh!
🔥🔥
I mean, he got the pants down
but still cant kickflip 💀
@@helpiamsuffering603a comment on a video of him doing a kickflip lmao

w mans
🤘💪
🔥
I have skated for 7 years and still can't kickflip..
respect
After 7 years of skating (granted I took time off during that) I landed a kickflip bolts and immediately is swept out from under me
ggs
It tooks 1 and half year for me to do it, I hated it, and now I hate heel :))
Ride slowly instead of standing still.
Skating since 1992 😉
😇
Is this Worcester Ma near polar park
if youre jeans were baggier you would definitely have landed it 2 years ago
Now it begins
🤙
for me your front foot positioning is for a double flip
Yes!
ive been skating for 4 years and i lost my comittment to my tricks, im cooked?
Flick your toe/foot UP, not out/forward.
took me 7 years to kickflip.
Toe knee haiku
4 year and I still can’t do a ollie
