If you've never seen the movie Blazing Saddles I'm sure you've heard of it. It's a bit of a rite of passage among movie reaction channels. All the white racist lines where written by Black Comedian Richord Pryor, and all the black racist lines written by White Comedian Mel Brooks. Similar concept

SNL does this joke swap every year on Weekend Update on the last show before their holiday break. They are brutal but funny. 😂✌️

The Woody Allen joke was a blow to Scarlett Johannssen as well. She has worked with him a lot and been dodgy on answering hard questions about his misconduct.
ALLEGED misconduct. And she hasn't been dodgy AT ALL. She has flat-out stated she believes him when he says he's innocent. And anyone who's done ACTUAL RESEARCH on the case, and not pathetically one-sided, slanderous and dishonest HBO propaganda hit-pieces, would know she's 100% RIGHT.
It wasn't a blow AT ALL. It was a (successful) attempt to make Jost uncomfortable since she's his wife and she actually has that tragically unpopular but factually 100% ACCURATE opinion about his innocence. It's not even about slamming Woody Allen. It's just about making Jost ultra-uncomfortable.
Allen hooked up with his adopted child. It's really not a stretch that he SA his daughter. Unless you live in that house you can't say 100 percent that Allen is innocent. I bet you think trump is innocent too even though a jury of his peers found otherwise.

Weekend Update has been an SNL segment since the beginning. Notable News Anchors have been Chevy Chase, Dennis Miller & Norm MacDonald.

Scarlett has been on Weekend Update a few times. She is hilarious.
Since the show started in the 70s they’ve had the Weekend Update which is basically a news broadcast parody making fun of current events, etc. Lots of big names you guys likely know like Chevy Chase, Tiny Fey, Norm MacDonald, Amy Poehler, and Jimmy Fallon have hosted the show over the years. Though I guess I don’t know which American celebrities make their way across the ocean.
Pretty sure the OG pitch on their news segments besides parodying news was the idea that some house mom may catch it in passerby and take it as real news

Che's jokes were pretty harsh, poor Colin but tbh he's still the luckiest guy on the planet, being married to Scarlett Johansson

The one where they are wet was a comedian doing a bit with wine and her singing because it was her last show.
Quick Question? Are you using OBS to run your whole scene? I.E little editing on these videos, just OBS it an upload. If true, in regards to elgato camera/webcam I propose two solutions.
1. Buy a webcam/camera less dependent on a capture card to transmit the data to the PC allowing OBS to use it more effectively (Think traditional webcam)
2. Probably the cheapest and easiest, record your Camera/Audio separate, and edit the 'reaction video and audio' on screen in post.
Could be a PC or software update but seems more inline with a write speed issue. If you have an SSD, preferably a M5, try moving the OBS instillation to the faster drive. If your running all of this on an older SSD, or traditional hard drive than it's very likely your write and read speeds cannot keep up with the camera. Especially with OBS also using them to write the actual data of the final video.

They're wet because they had a guest at the desk throwing liquid around right before the segment. I don't remember what happened in that particular episode, but Cecily Strong used to show up as a character and "accidentally" throw wine on Colin.

As has been mentioned Scarlett is married to Colin. The extra on that joke was the joke was about Scarlett playing another raced character in a movie. That was referencing the controversy that came up when Scarlett was chosen to play the character from ghost in the shell so to make Colin read that joke about his wife was brutal

If you ever drive through Illinois, you might need to need to take a break from driving and pull off the road on to a rest stop. Places where you can take a break, use the restroom etc. for those that don't know. Anyway, in Illinois, on I-55 N.. you'll find one with a bronze pig out front. That bronze pig won the county fair in the early 1900's. Anyway, you walk up to the rest stop and there's showers, restrooms, 8 vending machines, 8 soft drink machines, and 2 ice cream machines. Everything a traveler might need. Congratulations, you were just at the (and I'm not joking) Trail of Tears Memorial Rest Stop.

I like Colin and enjoy his regular jokes more than Che's but Michael Che wins these joke swaps every time, lol. Both these guys are great and work well together.

Weekend Update is SNL's comedy news segment. It's been done by different people for decades. The joke swap between Colin and Micheal is done in the last episode before the Christmas break every year.

I agree with you 100% Dave. Yes, Collin is an attractive person, but Scarlett Johansson is “Scarlett Johansson,” and you can’t ignore that. I apologize for saying this about Collin, but I think even He knows that he won above his weight class.
I haven't gone through all the comments so I'm not sure if it has already been pointed out or not....so when the concept of the joke swap was introduced Che thought Jost was messing with him so he intentionally made every one of his jokes a bit....shall we say edgy? Hence the lopsidedness at least in the first joke swap. It's evened out in the years since but...well that initial go was very one sided.
Luckily you can get a tan here in the Tennessee sun in 20 minutes a day

The Weekend Update segment is longer than these clips... sometimes there are guests on the update... atm i cannot remember who was parodying what, but there was a guest that LOVED her wine and kept swinging her glass around and accidentally-on-purpose drenching Colin with the wine (not actually wine though)... this clip MAY be from that episode.
Point is there are other things going on that are NOT in these clips.

I think the most recent one in 2023 was the first time Colin got Che pretty good. With race jokes Che has the advantage but the 2023 one was pretty equal. There’s was one joke where Che literally had a look of shock on his face as he told it.

Saturday Night Live has not been funny since the original cast left. They had a couple of decent years with Eddie Murphy or should I say decent skits but other than that Saturday Night Live hasn’t been funny for decades
Not just Eddie, but is does really seem dependent on the cast member. Sandler and the OG guys have all had some great ones. For new guys Pete Davidson has some decent ones. Overall your right tho, It isn't like 20 years ago where you could just watch SNL and die laughing at every skit. Be that the evolution of comedy or the downfall of SNL i know not.
I've never watched the SNL show but this clip had some good jokes.
