    Believe it or not there are those of us who still lack GPS on our panel. My panel is circa 1987 in a 1965 Cherokee. Great video and I would love to attempt the landing. Greetings from Wilmington, NC.

    Great video Mike! My wife and I got a chance to fly in there last fall for a night and a little golf. I was a little nervous but it was an amazing experience and such a beautiful place. The approach and departure are awesome!! Maybe we can do it again someday.

    Wow! Some things I learned watching this video that I didn't expect:
    1) I can add MVAs into foreflight.
    2) I can set an inbound course to an airport on a GNX 375 (which I have)
    3) Pulsating VASI - who knew?
    No plans to land at Mountain Air, but still learned some things. Thanks!
    Also, sorry for all the interfering radio calls I've made from Mid Carolina.

    Always great to see your video uploads. It's been a tough week for aviation and the Sling family.

    Hi from the UK. I'm a new pilot just starting explore the UK. I've just purchase a Sting S4. if I lived in the US I would defiantly fly into your airport. What a lovely video and an amazing airport. Thanks for sharing. You have inspired me.

    If you had the new 916is motor, MT propeller, and the Single Lever Power Control in your TSI, how much aerodynamic braking do you think you would lose for slowing down in flight and on landing rollout, versus your current set up of being able to set your propeller to Take Off and the propeller going to the fine pitch stop?

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  10 місяців тому +2

      I’ve been told, by someone who has flown both, that the TSi performance with the MT prop is identical to that of the Airmaster. I don’t think the TSi needs the 916, but the HW probably does, and that’s what they’re recommending for the HW now.

      @@OneAlphaMike do you know what these sweet spot is, on horsepower for this airplane? Like the Cessna 172 as a sweet spot of 180 hp, wondering if sling has declared something on this plane and the HW

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  10 місяців тому +1

      @@williamkennedy2069 The TSi was designed around the 915iS, so I’d say that’s the sweet spot. It already leaps off the ground on takeoff, so doesn’t need any more power there. It might be nice to have an engine with higher HP at “Max ECO,” (the typical cruise power setting) for higher cruise speeds. I don’t think anyone has ever put a different engine on a TSi so it’s hard to say how much more speed you could get, but when I go from Max ECO to MCP, that’s an increase of over 20hp and it only yields an extra 12 knots or so.
      I hear the HW needs more hp on takeoff than the 915 has, hence they’re recommending the 916 for the HW now.

    just curious, is a KingAir 360 able to fly in there? If not, what is the largest aircraft that can fly into that airport? thank you

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  7 місяців тому +1

      Not sure, I don't have the POH for a King Air 360. I know 500-series Citation jets have flown in, but the King Air 360 is substantially heavier than those. Would have to check the performance numbers.

    • @mitchellbanks197
      @mitchellbanks197 3 місяці тому

      We've had several 200s, but I think 360 is too large. Also had a Citation V (560), but in regular operation we typically only see Citation I/SP (501), PC12s, MU2, and smaller single turbine, light twin, and single pistons.

    Military pilot, planning a trip out there, for the weekend of April 5-8th is there any way we could get a ppr to do a couple stop and goes there? It’s been a dream of mine to land there

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  4 місяці тому

      You certainly would not want to do a stop & go. Full stop, then taxi for full length takeoff. I don’t know how you could get a PPR for just a landing and takeoff.

      @@OneAlphaMike alittle terminology with that haha yes of course we would do that. Any other reasons you could think of to get us in there real quick?

      @OneAlphaMike  4 місяці тому

      @@wk7337 Could try calling the real estate office. They can get PPRs for prospective buyers. But if you just want to fly in and out, I’m not sure they can help with that.
