70-year-old drives 1,200 miles from UK to donate 4x4s to Ukrainian forces

- Along with weapons and ammunition, one thing Ukraine desperately needs on the frontline is vehicles - particularly 4x4s.
Forces News has spoken to an Australian vet and conservationist who has donated six pick-ups to the Ukrainian military and has just driven one from London to Lviv herself.
Since the start of the war in February 2022, Dr Claire Oelrichs has bought half a dozen pick-ups - paid for with her own money and through fundraising.

Why do the massive vehicle corporations not take a leaf from her book and donate vehicles, Merdedes G.Wagens, Unimogs, Toyota landcruisers, Nissan Patrols, Landrovers, Range Rovers, V.W., BMW, Jeep, etc etc. Not to mention the Truck manufacturers. This war should not depend on charity from old age pensioners.

You miss the point.. vehicles from the UK are right hand drive.. so if a sniper tries to take out the driver of the vehicle he would hit the driver in a European car but the passenger in a British car.. allowing the car to escape still.. so really not pointless at all.
